August 3, 2012, 8pm EST; I got a recorded message from American Technology Consulting trying to sell me their ROBOCALL service!  I called the number back to demand to be removed, but got a recorded message saying, "The number you have reached is not in service. 216619."  I reported them to the FTC, as I do ALL telemarketers who don't provide a way for you to opt out, which, by law, they must do.

I got a call from someone named Sherman who said he could not dial out of the Allegheny County jail in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. How did he get me? He said “Tony” gave him my number and this Sherman asked me to call 412-683-6061 and tell his mother Miss Thomas, who is also nicknamed Queen that he just wanted to know if she got the mailings he sent for Christmas. He asked if I have a cell phone. I told him I don't. Being local, I called 412-683-6061, but it said it doesn’t take calls from unidentified people.

I have been receiving calls all day from this number 412.592.0160. I live in Duncansville, PA  and do not know anyone that is in The Alleghany Jail (at least to the best of my knowledge).  Could you please find out who is calling me from that facility?  I Googled this number and it said it's coming from the Alleghany Jail in Pittsburgh, PA.

You can call the facility the person is phoning from. It may take some research, but the prison can stop the person from calling you. Good luck!

The number is a call from someone detained in the Alleghany County Jail. The problem is. . . The company Brivia Communications, which is a part of Evercom Systems, Inc. and T-Nexis, Inc, which is a part of Correctional Billing Services, charge you up to $3.00 a minute legally.  These companies are just as bad the criminals that call you, except that they are legal. Only in America !!

412 592-0160 is Brivia Communications.  They handle calls from the Allegheny County Jail.

We get calls from here every morning. The operator says its a collect call from "     " a person puts his name in, and would I accept it. I say NO. I have no idea who this person is. How do you get them to stop calling the wrong number without having to ACCEPT the call and Pay their huge charges just to tell them they are calling the wrong place?

I just received the same message about rates and accepting calls from the 412-592-0160 number.  I called back and the number was disconnected.
I hate these kinds of things.

I just got three calls in a row from this number. I didnt answer and knew right away by the messages what it was. It is an inmate calling from a jail(prob Allegheny County). They will either try to get you to call a long distance number for them or try to scam you into something. We used to get many inmate calls when I worked at a hotel (where they are thinking a stupid desk clerk would connect them to an outside line thinking they are a guest within the hotel having phone line problems) Anyway, beware. If you have caller id, it's always best not to pick up unknown numbers and wait to see if VM gets anything.

Got two calls from this number today.  First call I missed.  Second call asked me to accept a collect call.  I pressed '2' to refuse.  Googled the number and saw everyone elses comment.  I'm told there are scams from the county jail where inmates try to get you to send them money.  I think not!!

Get this number at least once a week usually on Sunday. This has been happening for at least two months. I glad to here I not the only one receiving calls from the County Jail!

Called and the message on my machine asked me to press "1" if I would accept a collect call from this number.  It came up on the Caller Id as Brivia Communications.  When I called the number back the recording stated that the number had been disconnected.

Called no message no response.  Called again and I picked up they hung up called back and it is disconnected.
