I rec'd a call today, was on the other line, so no message was left. But, based on the responses on this page I called - because I did NOT set up an acct with FedEx. The rep confirmed that the number is not only used to confirm acct set ups, but also to alert recipients a day prior to package delivery. So, the rep entered my phone number and confirmed that an acct was not set up in my name and info - so since my daughter is leaving for college next week (and we've been ordering a lot of items online) I'll assume that was an alert about an impending delivery.

I received a call from this # and no message was left

It is Fed Ex with a uatomated thank you for opening a Fed Ex account.

Called me this morning at 6AM, completely inappropriate, since when I opened an account with them over the weekend, I gave them my WEST COAST address, so there is no reason to be calling that early. Very poor customer service. I didn't answer, since I didn't know the number and didn't receive a message.

Picked up this call and it ended up being a FedEx sales agent.  For once, I looked forward to a sales call as we use both UPS and FedEx.  By moving most of our shipping to them doubled our savings...

FedEx called and left a message thanking me for their business and if I had any questions. I just signed up for an account, so in that regard they were following up with me. Kind of nice to get that level of service.

well we did NOT just open an account with FedEx so they have NO reason to call us.

I just missed a call from this number.. They didn?t leave a message, but after reading the above comments I believe it is FedEx. Makes sense because I just opened a Business shipping account with them.

I just received a call from this number, no message left.  But after reading this, I did just get a new FedEx account number yesterday.  Thanks for everyone for posting your experiences.  Nice to know the call was legit.

All I got was a message saying "thank you for choosing fedex", then they hung up.  Odd!

they called and didn't leave a msg on my business line, there is no way i would open an acct on a 'for business only' line. called and the guy who answered had no clue, i asked to be taken off the call list and told him that this was a problem line that has many reports assoc w/it.

I had been getting calls from this number to my cell phone. No messages left. I do not know anyone from the area the number is from.

This is legitimate. I answered and it was my Fed Ex rep.

It was Fed Ex.  I had set up a personal fed ex account online and they were calling to verify my information to ensure identity security before authorizing my account for us.  I appreciated the call.

I signed up for account to check and see how long the transit would be for package and Fedex charged me a $1. And I got a call from them this morning too. What a waste.

I got a call at 8:05 this morning.  We had listed a car for sale on the AutoTrader a couple days ago and the guy calling from this # left me a voice message that said he provided a service that would get my car sold quick.  My gut tells me that he's a scammer and now that I see other people are getting calls from this phone #, I'm thinking he's spoofing his number so his real phone # is not revealed.

Same as above - I opened a FedEx account yesterday. Got a call from this number this morning. Did not answer. No VM.

I got a call 6am in the morning PST and got a machine. I called back and I got FedEx customer service. It was to verify my phone number.

This is Fedex customer service center (locaed in Philadelphia).
You likely scheduled a pick up, have a lingering billing issue or a delivery. I had a scheduled pick up and had problems with their web site--- they called a little early but were helpful.

I used to love Fedex, I mean they used to be the greatest example of a PERFECT company ever.. BUT they have just crossed the line from that to a bunch of aggressive marketing scumbags, like most other excessively large corporations!  Whoever implemented this change should be executed!

They called me at 8:00am too, and hung up!  There is MUCH more to this problem than just these annoying phone calls, if I may expand a bit.  We need to organize and fight this.  Abusive marketing is costing me REAL money in massive amounts of time, not to mention endless aggravation every single day.  I am at a point where I cannot even answer my phone anymore, because I know 9 out of 10 calls is either ID theft attempts, and/or abusive telemarketers.  My small snail-mailbox fills up so fast, when I am out of town, the post office has to stop delivering my 3-4 legitimate mails per month because of HUNDREDS of junk mails filling it up!  They refuse to stop delivering the junk, so I closed it!

Back to this issue.. Yesterday I was FORCED to open an account with FedEx just so I could buy a return-mail label for legal documents I have to send, and get back from a Government Agency.  The Government requirement is, it has to be a "computer generated", not hand-written return label!  The Fedex stores and website BOTH refused to allow me to get that without OPENING an account, which of course requires me giving excessive amounts of personal information, blood type, and worst of all FORCING me to agree to their new TELEMARKETING "privacy" policy (Which essentially says we and EVERYONE Fedex decides to share with, will TELEMARKET, SPAM, and JUNK-MAIL YOU..  How can they call that a "privacy" policy! It's CRIMINAL)  This was the only way the Government would accept the documents, and I am convinced they are in bed with Fedex at this point.  I am sick of abusive stupid Governments, and honestly 99% of large Corporations.  I am a lifelong small-business person and competing with these criminals is becoming difficult to impossible.  I refuse to behave that way!

As soon as my transaction is done, I will close the account and change all my numbers!  I have complained to them repeatedly as well!  

People in this country need to wake up and absolutely FLAME on these corps for doing this, and exposing us to credit card fraud and ID theft!  Calling me ANYTIME without a legitimate reason, other than marketing, IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE.  Bothering people early in the morning is plain STUPID.  Shows how our nation continues to decline into idiocracy as the collective IQ of our population reaches new lows every month!  The whole FACEBOOK wave sweeping the U.S is the largest group of brainless idiots freely giving away every vital detail of their lives so corporate America can put us in millions of databases just so they can charge us the maximum amount of money possible for everything under the sun.. it's insane!  That industry is thriving, because IDIOTS in this country are thriving!  How can people protesting (camping) at Wall street complain that they cannot eat, when they have I-phones costing hundreds of dollars per month, and the video game industry thriving as well, expect government handouts all the while supporting all these Social media black-holes?  Sell the phone and get a job!  Stop feeding evil companies, do business with small honest businesses.  Treat your personal information like it has some value!  Only then this epidemic will end!
