This place is HILARIOUS! :-) They are looking for Colleen Somers. I'm an admin here so I get a lot of calls for a lot of people, many who either don't work here or never worked here at all. I would always tell them that person is not employed here but they would call back anyway. I finally got tired of telling them that whoever it is they are looking for doesn't work here so now I have fun w/them. I tell them I am the person they are looking for and keep them on the line for a while, telling them that I don't intend on paying the debt. They'll ask why, and I'll say stuff like 'Oh I just don't feel like it'. It's funny cuz the callers get all upset and tell me that it's a debt I have and I should pay it, and I'll respond "oh well whatever, you can't make me'. They finally hang up. It's actually quite fun and brings me some joy to my rather boring job as an Admin Assistant. :-D

Vultures like these buy zombie debt or phantom debt for pennies
and then try collect it at all costs. Harassment and fraud not excluded.
Harassing the wrong person, not a problem for these vultures.

Check the case of George Lovelock, who missed a payment of only 11 cents,
and collectors aggressively tried to collect more than $4,000 from him.

It don't care if they have the right number or not.
Once they have a phone number they don't quit.
BUT they hate it if you call the number that they called from and just don't say anything.
We will see how much they hate getting calls everyday.

I work as an admin for a department and as a result I get a lot of rollover calls from a lot of numbers. This number calls often and who ever they are asking for doesn't even work here. So I get to have fun w/them. :) I said I was the person they were looking for and said that I just didn't feel like paying my debt. She got all huffy and said that I should accrue debt I did not plan to pay. I went along with it and said I could do whatever I wanted. It was a fun little 4 minute call and she hung up when I told her that there was nothing she could do about it. LOL

They keep calling me on an old credit card that jumped my interest rate to 32% from 5% due to a 3 day late payment. I told credit card to F off and quit paying. These guys agreed to settle for a reduced amount but withdrew their agreement when I refused to give them access to draft my checking acct. and asked for a letter confirming our agreement prior to payment. Know your rights, there is a statute of limitations on debt. The closer that day comes the more often they will call.

I don't know who you addressed the "you're an idiot" comment to, but let me point out some FACTS. You are right. Credit is money you do not have. Credit is not even money. Credit, in all its forms, IS A LOAN, NOTHING MORE. In esseence, it is a loan, just as much as a mortgage is a loan. Each "loan" tells you how much you can borrow, what the interest rate is, how the interest is calculated, and other fees associated with the loan (origination fee, over the limit fee, late payment fee, etc.). The thing that gets confusing is if you take out a loan (of any type), and you can not afford to pay it back, and your lender/creditor decides to cancel any part of your debt over $600, according to the IRS, that is now money you do have and the creditor MUST report it on form 1099C, and you are taxed on that income. Then credit becomes "money you do have". With the "credit policies" in place these days, and with the IRS taxing everything they can, maybe we all are idiots because we can't figure out what's going on. Should credit be elimenated? That's a hard one to answer. If it is, I would like to see people carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars in their pockets when they go around looking for a house.
