Just to make ppl aware you should do your research .. there are many scams out there! And I deal with many ppl on a daily basis that have in fact been scamed! However, Irecovery is a legal , licensed and bonded company. The messages come across shady due to FDCPA rules and guidelines. In the chance that it is a wrong number it is against the law to disclose to a third party of another's situation. You are asked to verify the last 4of your SSN and date of birth to confirm identity. All the info is already on the file. Nobody is threatened with arrest or jail, only further enforcement ... know what your talking about before you run your mouth!!! Learn the law and not the bad information provided on the web... pay your bills and you don't have the headache!! I'm sure if someone borrowed money from you then decided they didn't have to pay you back you wouldn't just forget about it!!!

I have gotten at least 12 calls from this number and every message they ask to speak to my ex-husband with whom I have not seen or spoken to in over 15 years. Glad they didn't answer the phone when I called to chew them out!

Did they send you any paperwork to verify that they own the debt? Not very wise to pay a collection agency by debit card, even if it is prepaid. Always tell them to send you a validation of the debt by US Postal Mail before you pay anything and get all settlement terms in writing.

I got a call from this number, and I do owe a bill with a creditor. The man was very nice, but said I could pay bill in settlement in 3 payments or 150 monthly.I gave him my debit card number(a prepaid one),and after reading the above I am not sure if I should go ahead with payments or talk to main creditor, and destroy debit card.HELP

Arthur Cunningham calls me too! LOL Thanks for all the information about l Recovery. If you are calling about a debt don't you have to state that up front?
Chris 2011-09-30 19:24:52 Unknown
Arthur Cunningham and this company must be soo desperate. They call every day. They will never ever get a call back. They do not identify the company or what they want. Who in their right mind would call them back?

Thanks Linda, this information is very helpful. I received a call today from Arthur Cunningham asking me to call back....same like the one he place to everyone else. They don't say who they are or what they want....just asking to call back to the 877 number. I though it was a scam......I will try calling tomorrow to see what he wants. The woman called Amanda also called my home number twice but I didn't call back. I feel annoyed about this type of stupid calls, but I am glad that I read all your messages and know what to do now.

Just got a call from Arthur Cunningham, in regards to an important matter and to call him back.
This is a company called I Recovery, they buy junk debt from THE 20th CENTURY...
The last bill I've EVER had go uncollected / late / written off, as back in 1998, I've been a good boy since then. :)
Call them back and give your real name at your own risk, because as soon as you admit the debt is yours, the 7 year clock ( statute of limitations on the debt) starts ticking once again.
It's junk debt that you've already paid the price for on your credit report.

This is a debt collection company I Recovery.

Before a company can put a lien on anyone, it must be court-approved, and a "Smash" would have been served papers. If a collection agency can't collect on a debt, it is either charged-off by the creditor, or then goes to court. I've done research on this company, and apparently they pay for old debts that have been charged-off by the creditors for pennies on the dollar. SCAM!
Still Annoyed 2011-09-23 15:37:53 Unknown
These phone calls are auto-generated, and never state the name of the company, nor who the call is for. Anyone calling on a debt must identify clearly who they are calling for and/or who they are - these calls do none of these. Also, if you answer the call, they hang up immediately. Now, why on earth would they hang up if you answer, but leave a very vague message if you let it go to voice mail? You do the math.

Pay no attention to them. It is scam for sure

calls every day from this number. i have no intentions of returning their calls. Thank goodness for the internet and all your helpful posts. they never leave any information, probably afraid of violating the fair debt collection act. Well if they had a legitimate debt , they would send a bill by mail with their company letterhead, license #, etc. Never, Ever, give them any information over the phone or they will drain your bank accounts and credit cards. Even if you think you may owe the debt, they need to send you a validation of the debt in writing which is the law. If they keep calling obviosly, they are trying to get you to agree to something by telephone or open up the statute of limitations on an expired debt. Also, there are a number of scammers out there who are hacking information on the internet. They have all this information on you, such as your bank account and social security number, and some people may beleive they are correct. ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING, DON'T BE SCAMMED.

i have received landline calls/messages from this number a handful of times in the past few months. The words "subpoena" and other threatening words and phrases were utilized. Caller was hesitant to provide details re: company and says in a scary voice he is trying to help. They are scaring my family and, upon further investigation, appear to be a scam. I desperately need to report this number. A "Greg Brown" and a "Mr. David" called on two separate occasions in August and September and honestly, it sounded like the same identical person. The first time I got upset because it was so immediately apparent this was a scam of some sorts. "Greg Brown" called back not one minute after I hung up and left a voicemail for everyone in the family to hear stating that he would be coming to my house in person if I failed to call back and let him "help" me. This is obviously harassment and my family has a slight fear i'm some kind of criminal or something!!! Please take this number away. The extension provided just now on my voicemail from "Mr. Davis" about 7 min ago was 1806, by the way.
Thank you for your prompt action in this matter.
If there is anything else I need to do to report this number or any information you may have that would assist me in understanding why these calls were even made/who/what this "company" is EXACTLY. I have dealt with a lot of cases, and need to receive as much detail as I can re: what/who is behind this phone number.
Sincerely,
Apotsala Wilson

i've been getting these calls continually and have talked to them directly. They keep calling for a person named adam wood and i've told them, I have no clue who this person is. I called them today directly and they told me again they would remove my number. I'm going to give it another couple of days. If it continues then i'm going to report it to donotcall.gov , when I called, the person said it was "I Recovery"

Arthur Cunningham has been calling here too with no explaination other than "I need you to call back @... " . I decided to call back after reading these messages. It is I Recovery as everyone said... I had decided to be very "nice" when I spoke to him and he was very nice about it also... he agreed to take my number off the list. He had caller ID, I didn't have to give any information to him at all. He took my number off while were on the phone. He told me exactly who he was looking for... my husband's brother.

Yes, Amanda called me to but left me a call back number of 516-204-0213. She certainly gets around!
Cara Richards 2011-09-21 14:02:04 Unknown
I am receiving voicemails from this company every day sometimes it is Arthur Cunningam and for the past few days an Amanda Jones leaves messages. Does not say my name or what company they represent. This Amanda has asked for a call back on a different number than what appears on my caller id. Red flag right there. These people need to find more rewarding job.

I got a call from this number today. They left a voicemail saying I needed to call their office and contact Arthur Cunningham. They never mentioned my name in the message, just that I needed to call back. It's a scam of some sort.

Received 2 calls from *877) 365-0306 supposedly from "Arthur Cunningham." 1 was on 09/16/11 and 1 was on 09/20/11. Same story, although the second call was somewhat threatening. I don't think these Jack A***s know who their dealing with 'cause they wouldn't be calling my cell phone...
