This is not a Walmart scam. I received a text from these people on my cell phone, and I have never shopped at Walmart, nor have I ever given out my cell phone to any retail or online store. Think they must be just spamming all numbers.

I did a little research and found out that it is associated with DailyDealFinder.com.  The terms of participation (and presumably getting that gift card) are:

This offer is available to US residents only. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. To receive the Membership Incentive Promotion gift you must complete all of the steps outlined herein. Prospective members must: (a) submit their zip code to determine geographic eligibility; (b) register with a valid and deliverable email address; (c) submit accurate contact and demographic information including a physical mailing address; (d) acquire two sponsor action points from the Top Offers Group, two offers from the Prime Offers Group, and 9 offers from the Premium Offers Group for a total of 13 sponsor offers; (e) and refer three friends to do the same (i.e. register and complete the required

So not only do you have to give them a valid email and mailing address so they can fill your mailbox and email with junk, you have to rat out, I mean refer, three friends so the web site can try to sucker them too.  Ain't the electronic frontier wonderful?
