Received a call at 8pm and no one left a message.  I have no connections to the VA of any kind.  Suspicious!

This is indeed the Medical College of Wisconsin. It is legitimate, any staff member who calls out from the phones there (including the VA Center) will show up with this number.

someone from this number has called my wifes phone repeatedly and hangs up a few seconds after she picks up. we recently got this phone and have had lots of calls for the previous owner of what is now her number

Just got a call from this number, left no message. Most of the Googled sites report as other reports, but peoplesmart.com gives

I received this call from the VA Medical Center.  In my case, it's not a scam, it was from an RN there in which a family member of mine was seen at a VA clinic.

Got a call on my cell phone.

I got a voice message from this number. In hurried, hushed tones I had someone call me "Randy" and let me know the deal was set, and we were to meet at the VA, same as last time. Sounded very fishy.

I had this call on VM and a male kept saying hello, hello, hello, hello.  I was thinking at first with the US Gov't ID that is was Milwaukee jail.  My guess, only a confused person at the VA.

I had this number call today, and they hung up as soon as I said hello. one minute later it called back again, so I let it go to VM, and they did the same thing. This was not a VA hospital unless they are in the habit of calling a random number twice and hanging up both times.

Yeah, came up on my phone today, this is now the number for the Milwaukee office of the VA Medical Center and Veterans Affairs office, so it's prob a mis-dial instead of a scam, tho my home phone isn't even close to this number

414-384-2000 is also the number for Veterans affairs which is a govt agency associated with the medical field.

I work at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and I am sure that someone just dialed you accidentally (there are about 11,000 employees here)...it's not a scam because this is also what shows up on my caller ID when I get a call from about any phone within the institution. The Medical College of Wisconsin, which was once a private institution, now receives some govt. funding. Perhaps this is the reason the caller ID says US government?

Caller ID says "US Government" but when I did a number search it was the main number for University Wisconsin Medical College. No message left. I have no connection to this facility. Smells like a scam
