These people are NOT the real law firm Oak View Law Group.

I filed a BBB complaint and followed up with a call to the Oak View Law Group's legitimate number at 800 530 OVLG (6854) and spoke to a representative name Paul. I gave him the name of the man who called me and they have never had anyone by that name working there!!

Additionally, I was told that Oak View Law Group does NOT participate as a debt collector, they only work for the clients with debt (e.g. debt settlement, bankruptcy, etc...)

BBB also came to the same conclusion that someone is falsely identifying themselves as this law group in an attempt to cheat us of our money.

My wife and I were given this link https://www.ovlg.com/scam.html  , which details the cases of fraudsters trying to use the name of the law group in cheating people out of their money.

We were told to that both Oak View Law Group and the local police are investigating the matter in an attempt to find the real criminals.

I highly recommend you take down as much information as you can about the caller and email it to Kalani@ovlg.com  so that these guys can hurry up and catch those a$$es trying to scam us out of our hard earned money!

On Thursday I had a person with an accent. He told me that he was at a law firm. He asked what was my last four digit of my social security number. I did not givr him any information about me. He gave me an incorrect four digital social security number. I told him that is not my social security number. I asked me who are you and what are you calling for. He told me do I have a lawyer, because I am going to be arrest for some money. I told him do not call job or cell phone number any more. I have had the same perspn calling me from different. numbers. My home phone number do not have a caller ID, but my work phone and cell number do have caller ID. I found this website on Monday, 1/27
2014. I had search area codes and I came across two numbers that matched the numbers that call me.  The person voice has been on several calls on my home phone and answer machine.

Prank Call
I received a call at work 414-386-2323 saying that I was being sued - I knew it was a scam as I had a call like this before - I laughed at him and hung up.  They try to intimidate people to extort money from you and make you fear that you are going to be arrested at work - that won't happen - they are bottom feeders looking for free money and I wish there was something more we could do about them but PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION OR MONEY.  Contact your local authorities if they do not leave you alone.  I get very angry and recorded my call the last time they tried this.  The lady said she would take me off the call list - what does that tell you.

Rudeness, Harassment, Intolerable language and behaviors are not acceptable. Most of us have jobs and would not present this nastiness to you regardless of your situation. Because of the apparent majority ethnicity you have negated your moral characteristics, creating the customary strife of bottom feeders.

I received a call from this number at my job. The lady that was initially on the phone transferred me to a man and he stated that the call was being recorded and that I should listen and not interrupt him until he was finished and if I had any questions I could ask at that time. He stated that I had gotten a pay day loan without the intentions of paying it back and how I committed fraud and he would report me to my job and the Attorney General. He said I would be handcuffed and taken into custody in 24 to 48 hours and be held in jail for 30 days and then I would go before a Judge. He said I owed over $8,000. I asked him what was the name of the company? He could not provide me with one. He stated they don't give him the name of the company, it could have been a month or a year or 10 years ago. Well I know if it is something from 10 years ago the Statue of Limitation for suing someone is 3 years. I just thought it was rather strange that he couldn't provide me with a name of a company. Then he said Americash. I said who the heck is that? He got loud and said I didn't say them. They just report you to us we don't know the company. So I told him to call my lawyer and he stated "have your lawyer to call me then he gave me the number with his extension. I called my lawyer and told her some lawyer called me and threatened to take me to jail. Her exact words were if anyone is going to jail it's going to be them. She informed me what to do. I know from my previous experience if a lawyer called me they would state who they were representing and the name of the company. I agree with Angie (the lady on the previous post) If they lock me up and I loose my job. How am I suppose to repay any debt.

I received a phone message from 'Jenny' who informed me that I was being sued and that I/my attorney should contact her and not ignore the call because if I did all she could say is ''good luck honey''. After calling back I too was transferred to a 'Sr. Officer'. This 'gentleman' advised me to listen and not interrupt until he was finished, and at that time I could ask questions. I listened, barely able to understand due to his accent and quickness of 'recited' speech. During the speech he advised me that if I didn't comply with a payment of over $8000.00 I was subject to arrest within the next 30 days, my employer and any creditors would be contacted and told that I 'stole' money without any intent of paying it back and I would be led out of my place of business in handcuffs.

I asked if he could tell me who the company was, the amount of the loan and when the loan was taken out. He 'screamed', "this is no longer about a loan, it is a criminal/legal matter and it does not matter who or when".  However, he did give me a loan amount of less than $500.When I asked him if I had the right to know this and that he had informed me that I could ask questions, he screamed into the phone more; much of it hard to understand. When I asked if/why he was yelling he very articulately said, "OK, F--- yourself" and hung up. I called back on the same number 'Jenny'  had left and asked for her. A male answered and said 'Angie', you're calling me back. I said "no, I would like to speak with Jenny". He said "she got lost". I disconnected at that time. So, why was I initially told that I owed over $8000? Is it 'legal' to use these tactics and is it truthful? If I owe then I would hope that a plan would be worked out not insinuated threats of slander and humiliation. If I were to lose my employment how would anyone expect me to have resources to repay whatever the amount is...if I owe?

I received a call from this number and the guy (very accented) told me that he needed my lawyers contact information so that he may send over some case information. I asked him what case was the call concerning and he stated that he needed to transfer me to his senior officer so that I may obtain that information. When the other guy answered the phone he asked if he was speaking to me and I stated yes, he then told me that this was concerning a loan with UFC Loans for an unpaid amount. I told him that I had never heard of the company. He then stated that there would be officers at my residence and at my work to take me into custody for at least 30 days. I then told him that he was a fraud because I had never had anything such as this before and he told me good luck and disconnected the call.

At least 30% of the debt amount per creditor needs to be accumulated in the trust account for OVLG to give the creditor any settlement offer. Not all creditors or debt collectors will accept a reduction in the balance, interest rate, or fees a customer owes such creditor or debt collector. Pending completion of the represented debt-relief services, the customer's creditors or debt collectors may pursue collection efforts, including initiation of lawsuits. That the use of the debt-relief service will likely adversely affect the consumer's creditworthiness, may result in consumers being sued by their creditors, and may increase the amount owed to creditors as a result of the accrual of additional fees and interest; Savings a customer realizes from use of a debt-relief service may be taxable income.   It appears that the Oak View Law Group is a legitimate business. Although it is not accredited by the BBB, it has nevertheless been rated a C+ by the BBB
