These people called and said they were "local"  I said where are you calling from? They named my state! "I said, well yes, that would be "Local, but WHERE in the state?" She could not tell me, she said "UM give me a minute, I am new" I said you can't tell me where you are right now?" She again said, "I am new, just a moment" I told her that if she did not know where she was, that I would have to hang up, and I did. NOT REPUTABLE.

I think this person has called twice. They just called me a half hour ago, but they never left a message. I know people from Milwaukee, but I am at my mom's house so no one from Milwaukee ever calls here.

*Never* give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 90% for themselves and sends 10% to the charity. Best to find what charity they are collecting for, research the charity to make sure it's legit, get charity contact info from an independent source, then donate *directly* to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

If 414-921-7181 is a charity, then why do they hang up every time I answer the phone?
Idiots.

It may be a charity, but I work from home and they are calling me at work and sending my work calls to voicemail because they take up the line.  From now on, I'm answering and not talking but leaving the connetion on.  Maybe if I cost them money, they'll quit calling.

They are not purchasing the do not call list because they are not required to, they are a "charity". This particular one is for Breast Cancer. If you knew anything about the Do-Not-Call list law you would know it really punished the Roofing, Painting, Windows  & Siding telemarketers and left the scam charities free to call whomever they please. You would be angry no doubt to learn what small percentage of the money raised goes to the "cause" with these so called charities, and it is perfectly legal. Some are as low as 1%. And usually the people on the phone calling you have no idea they are working for such unscrupulous people. And this is perfectly legal, wanna do something about it? Call your congressman and representatives, otherwise nothing will change.

Apparently you just came here to blast your whining and not bother to read what was written here, the whole purpose of this comment section is to educate, not whine! So educate yourself and call your congressman, or do nothing and whine and nothing will change because this company is not breaking any laws.

Yes indeed they are, and they are not purchasing the do not call list because they are not required to, they are a "charity". This particular one is for Breast Cancer. If you know anything about what it means to become a charity you would not be so skeptical about whether or not they are fund raising for breast cancer, but rather you would be angry to learn what small percentage of the money raised goes to the "cause" and is perfectly legal. Some are as low as 1%. And usually the people on the phone calling you have no idea they are working for such unscrupulous people.

Not really how it works. There is no one there to say hello. It works like this, they have a predictive dialer, a bank of phones and computers at desks, and of course people who sit at these desks. The dialer calls as many numbers as the staff feels will keep everyone on the phone. So if the dialer is allowed to call too many, or even "just enough" numbers, there are always calls like everyone's here that just get dumped because no one at the charity was able to grab the live call. People who do have someone answer works like this, same scenario only the person at the charity had an open connect to the dialer through their computer, the people see the numbers pop up on their computer with your name, and address, and they reply to your voice. If it all works perfectly there are very few dead calls, but in this case there are far far too many. And of course if no one spoke to you your number goes back into the list of numbers to be dialed. The other issue is they are not purchasing the do not call list because they are not required to, they are a "charity". This particular one is for Breast Cancer so no, your name being on the Do-Not-Call has no bearing on this organization. If however it did, say like the cold sales callers, your number is removed from the predictive dialer because they purchase a computerized list of Do-Not-Call numbers, enter it into their system and all DNC numbers are filtered from ever being dialed.

First thing, you maybe on the list but being they are a "charity" breast cancer so they can call you anyway. They are also allowed to call until 9:00 PM by Federal Law. Most however realize this is too late and they anger more people than they sell to so they end at 8:00 pm.
But unfortunately they are not breaking any laws and are free to do this several times a day every day of the year...

Same here people. This # is very intrusive calling & waking me up sometimes @7;30am so i picked up phone & screamed WHAT & no one ever said a word.

I found that if you talk very sweet & low toned voice to those intrusive callers & state to them" Now is a real busy time, but i'd love to discuss ------. Just give me your home phone number so i can call you back! Hahaa, i've gotten numerous different respnoses from them, but the telemarketers usually get the idea & don't call back.

I never pick up any number I don't recognize.  There are too many numbers out there like this one.  I used to run to answer the phone.  No more.  If they really want to talk to me they can leave a message.

We are also receiving calls from this number for over 3 months.  No one is ever there.  I tried calling this number back and phone book is always "too full" to leave a message.  They call 3-4 times a day at all different times.  We are also on the no call list.  I have never been so irratated with someone calling my house, in my life! This MUST stop - someone needs to do something about it.

Hello, folks:  non-profits are exempt from both Fed & state DNC lists.  I got them  too and am on both lists.  Nothing you can do unless you get your friendly neighborhood Congressional rep to change the laws.  Until then, we'll still keep getting them:  probably more since overall charitable giving is down due to the current economic conditions.  Lighten up and have some fun with them:  tell them that you'll be happy to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars , just send out the pledge form and you'll send it back once you've hit the lottery.  Or let your pre- or elementary school kid answer and chat with them:  they haven't called back when I've done this.

I was awoken from a sound sleep before 8 this morning by a call from this number and there was just humming in the phone when I picked it up. It was my first opportunity to "sleep in" in more than 2 weeks and now I'm fuming. I've been receiving calls from this number intermittently for the past several months. Can't imagine why the phone company doesn't shut them down..
