It is a scam. They are calling to tell me that I have a virus on my computer. Why would they even care. Just tell them you don't have a computer.

Left no message. The caller ID looks like faked.

Answered first time because it was a some-what local # - person answering from first word spoken did NOT sound proffessional (Hang up!) on DNC list so thought maybe a legit call - thet kept calling, no messages ever. Called # back couple days later after repeated call, almost choice option 2 but decided to "Google" and found this site - glad I did. Just did a # block on my own phone.

I bought a London policemen's whistle when we were there years ago. One long blast on this and they DON't call back. Worked real good for an ex s-i-l that called at 2am the second time.

Same experience. Three times in 2 days. Each time, I didn't answer. When my own voice recording started to play, the callers hung up without leaving a message. No legitimate business would do that.
No. Scam calls like these are probably not to determine whether or not you're home. They come in from all over the country and sometimes from other countries, as well. Most are fishing expeditions trying to get your ID or credit card number. Some try to sell products with hidden costs and bogus contracts. One caller, for example, offers free installation of a safety alert device for the frail elderly and then charges huge sums for related "monthly service" that were not previously mentioned.
If you're on the Do-Not-Call list, it takes just a few seconds to file a complaint at http://www.google.com/#q=national+do+not+call+complaint. One complaint probably won't make a difference but hundreds might make the enforcers prioritize that violation.
And you probably already know not to answer. Any response on your part, including opting to be off their list, just makes the calls more frequent.

This number & 415-892-7091 called me within an hour. Want to bet if they were the same people?

Actually i offered help to give info.. i know who this guys are i've worked with them once but some of your folks refuse so goodluck actually you guys would have a hard time shooting them down..

That's great!!!  Kuddos to Sir Bevedere for his perserverence.  Hopefully all the valuable info he collected on this group helps shut them down.

All 8 sites are hosted at 192.41.94.149 and all have domain registrations through GoDaddy using the Domains by Proxy service to conceal the name and address of the domain owner(s). Many of the web sites give a street address of 831 East 340 South, American Fork, UT 84003 with differing "suite" numbers (130, 150 and 200).

They call from many phone numbers, which are probably spoofed in order to conceal their identity and location and to deliberately deceive call recipients into thinking it's a local call (local area code), so they're likely violating the Truth in Caller ID law as well.

I am on the DNC list...I have received several calls from this number which is Identified on the Caller ID as "Secure ID".  No messages are ever left.  I called the number back, receiving a recording to press a number to speak to customer service or another number to be removed from their contact list.   I wanted to find more info about the company so I chose the Customer Service option...well, no agent came on the line...a recording requested that I leave a message.  

Aren't THEY suppose to check numbers to make sure the numbers are not on their DNC list?  A few days ago, I picked up the call and there was a long pause, as their system transferred me, I hung up...meaning these are computer generated calls...it shouldn't be difficult to merge the DNC list into their calling software.  

The REAL problem is they identify themselves as "Secure ID" on the CID and that is not their real company name.  So, for anyone who has a Secure ID fob from their company...it's deceptive, misleading and misrepresentative of another company's name.

Two calls this morning. both said Secure ID.  No messsage left.

Caller identified himself as from Secure ID offering identity protection and asked if I was over 50.... I said not interested a few times then had to hang up. Wouldn't buy security services over the phone!

2 calls so far today. Says Secure Id on phone. I do not answer calls I don't know.  Ever since I got Comcast Xfinity Voice is has been constant scams and Telemarketers all day long. I have blocked as many as I can but am limited to 25 numbers.  I am paying $20 a month for the Telemarketers to harass me! Sick of it. Dropping it and just keeping cell.

We got a call from them.  Picked up and got the "My name is John," and "how are you today?" I asked if this was a markeing call, and he tried to dodge the question. I told him we were on the do not call list and reason we were on it is because we did not want to receive marketing calls. He politely said, " I understand and I apologize." Doubtless we will get 5 calls from them tomorrow.

If you call them back there is an option (2) that will supposedly put you on their Do Not Call list.

I keep getting calls from this number more than 2 times a day and they don't leave a message!  I'm going to block them.

Got a call just now; they identified themselves as "Secure ID," which is the name of the legitimate RSA 2-factor authentication gear (software and key dongles). He was pitching "identity protection" specifically for people over 50 - clearly trying to scam seniors, ignoring the do-not-call list. Pond scum just above child molesters, IMHO. Caller identified himself as "Fred" - maybe I should have invited Fred to come by for a friendly chat with a feeble old man... SFPD (above) and I could perhaps gently persuade him to engage in a new line of work. ;-)

Get calls from this number, almost daily, sometimes twice a day. Monday-Friday. THEY never leave a message.

How's that going to help if you're not home.

Call comes through as Secure ID, it is a scam call. As for the post on here that they are going to rob you, I am a SFPD Homicide detective, can't wait for them to kick down my door.
