The caller ID said the call came from 415-251-4089 but asked us to call back using the 415-251-2995 number. It was the same as was mentioned before. Heather Gray from the IRS.......

I experienced a similar scam deal with "Heather Gray."

5/30/2014 @ 12:50pm ? Received message on answering machine & the caller ID read ?California (415) 251-2995.?  The message sounded very monotone with no inflections, perhaps an automated (computer generated) voice/call.  The exact message (verbatim) is below:
?We need you or your retained attorney of records to return the call.  The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive.  I am Officer Heather Gray from Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my position is (415) 251-2995.  I repeat its (415) 251-2995.  Don?t disregard this message, and do return the call before we take legal allegation against you. Good bye and take care.?
These criminals need a proof reader for their script, as it has multiple errors:
?Attorney of record? is not plural.  Heather gray from ?the? IRS & she would not have a ?hotline to her position?, she would have a # to her office & likely an extension.  You cannot take legal ?allegation? against someone.  You could take legal ?action? against a person, provided you were legitimate.  The closing is not very realistic.  I doubt anyone threatening you, particularly the IRS, would end with, ?Good bye and take care.?

God. I hope not. I called about 15 times, first getting busy signals, then it seemed as if it was picked up, then went into "If you'd like to ....."

Echoing what others have reported. Same message from Heather Gray on my cell number.

If you got this call, rest easy, you're fine -- this is a scam. The IRS will ALWAYS mail you a letter or, if it is serious, a certified letter. They will never initiate contact with a phone call.

Wanted to have some fun with these pricks, so I disabled the outgoing caller ID on my phone and called back. Unfortunately, despite having tried about a hundred times, they're automatically ending the call. I assume they're blocking calls coming in with the caller id info. On second thought, though, that might not have been so clever in case that's one of those numbers that bills you big-time when you call. Anyone know if that's their scam here?

This is a Con scheme using IRS name.
When I got a call from this number (415) 251-2995, my caller ID showed that the call was made from NAVATO California, but the number (415) is San Francisco area code.
Message they left stated that my Tax Return has a major error which will harm me financially, legally and all the bad things will happen to me if I don't fix it right away, even FBI will come to arrest me if I don't fix it etc......
I called the number back and a woman answered the call stating that she is an IRS agent and there was a lot of noise in the back ground to make me believe that she was in a big office with bunch of other agents. I asked her, "where are you located? are you located in Novato California because my called ID you called from shows that, where are you located?" Then she said "it doesn't matter" and she hung up the phone (I think she realized that I knew she was a Con Artist). I called the number again and this time a message said "the user who you are trying to reach is not available", I called the number again 5 min later and all I got was a busy signal. Then I called again and this time a woman named Michelle answered the phone saying, "Hi, my name is Michelle and I am IRS agent" I said "hi Michele, you Con Artist, I know what you are, you are going to jail doing this" she hung up the phone..... I called the number again and this time the call did not go anywhere, it didn't even ring. I called the number agin and this time it rung three times and it stopped ringing. Try calling this number just for the fun of it and threaten them, make them feel soooo bad that they will not want to do this any longer.

My mom got a message from these creeps on her answering machine.  I told her it was probably a scam, but decided to see if anybody else got calls from them.  It's bad enough we have to put up with the Obama feds stealing from us.  Now these crooks are claiming to be from the IRS to steal from us.

Got a call. They knew my name and city I live in. No other information.  Said he was from IRS. Said I owe back taxes. I believe they are using an outdated source because I did owe back taxes 3 years ago. He did his whole going to jail not passing go shpiel. When I had enough of the scam, I asked for his name title supervisor name and ext. He hung up. For scammers, they're not very clever.

I got a call from this number April 29 2014, saying that they were the Internal Revenue Services and that I have an balance due with them and automatically I knew it was a scam because for one and most importantly the IRS never calls you they send out a letter and for two they never asked for me by name and for three they never said how much the balance was, they just said I owe a balance with them, I've also been cursed at by them and I did not appreciate that. I really hope that they really get nailed for this, they really need to get what they deserve.
