Got a call from Novato, ca 415-251-1037 on 5/27 at 4:11 pm.  Sounds like the same irs scam.
Identified himself as david mark, from the IRS - heavy, heavy accent and  to call his supervisor, James Anderson.
Went to the IRS hotline and reported him.
Do these people think I just fell off a turnip truck?

I got a call from 415-251-8453 that threatened me with legal action if I didn't call back. They immediately asked for my phone number which I didn't give and when I asked for identification he said, have a nice day and hung up. If you google this, its an IRS scam.

Got a call from 415-251-7622 said I owe IRS money said his name was John Davis but had an accent

I got the same call just now. That I owe money to the IRS $6,000  and I had to pay today or  I will be arrested tomorrow for 72 hours, the lady make me go to CVS to get a  green dot money pay pal .im glad I didn't do it .Its  SCAM please spear the word

These guys are full of crap, we called back and said we had some of the money that we owned .And we were going to send it a cashiers check the lady no it has to be cash .that's when called her out .She hung up on us. And since when does a government place pick up right away and get a live person.Don't fall for there SHi!!!!!!!

Now he is calling from 415-251-4974. Same guy.

Yes   I received the EXACT same call,    SCAM   SCAM    he told me to go to CVS or safeway and send him over $6,000 or I will be arrested !!!  WOW   what a scam !!!

I too got the same call... YES IT IS A SCAM !!!

Some caller left 2 voice messages - stating its "Michael -----" from litigation department, me or my attorney should get in touch with this number to avoid legal action. Pathetic quality of the phone line with strong accent made it impossible to figure out what the caller is saying.
I was a bit worried since my land line number is known to only handful of people but I knew it was scam. I searched here and bingo!!

"This message is intended for lucia-for-erica-lucia(?) the very second you receive this message I need you or your retain attorney off record to return the call. The issue our time is extremely time sensitive. My name is Sean calling from doctor(?) litigation Department and hotline to my division is 4152517622. I repeat it's 4152517622. Don't try to disregard this message. I don't-return(?) the call as soon as possible before any legal action takes place. We between dot(?) ... deficiency. Anyhow did-go(?) back. I do a reference number...." - TWC

I also got the similar call. Why don't FBI or police arrest these people?

I got two calls from this number in a course of three days threatening that we do not disregard this message or legal action will be taken. He gave two different names John David and John Stevens and the number came from Novato California. The calls where in the mornings from 8am and 9am. He did not say he was with the IRS but said he was with the Tax Litigation Department. We are in Colorado and have notified the police about it and we are the second ones to report it today. They have a investigation with this persons number. It is a scam!!!

We got a voice mail from the same guy - this time as Dan Taylor.  I reported it to the local police.

Received a voicemail today at approx 12:26 PM. Hard to understand due to a strong accent. I made out the words IRS, litigation, etc and there was a threat if I did not call back that number. Obvious scam.

         I received a call I could only surmise that it was made by a person with a very bad phone connection, about an hour ago (415) 251-7622. Saying that there was a impending lawsuit and, to call the aforementioned number and speak with a Micheal Parker. I just let him talk and said goodbye.

         I know it is a scam, but hopefully you can catch them.

I also got a call today Feb 5, 14 from a Sammy Taylor with a very heavy accent claiming to be from a tax litigation attorney of the  IRS and to not disregard this phone call and for me to call back right away because legal question haven been raised regarding income taxes deficiency, left phone number 415 251 7622 and also a refernce number. My caller id said the number was from Novato California.

Received a call from 415-251-7622 Sammy Deylor and was asked to call back and speak to Anna Jones regarding a IRS notice. Person had heavy accent. This call sounds like a scam.

Some guy with a very thick German  accent called and identified himself as David Parket from IRS litigation department. He said we owed $2743 in taxes and they have issued a warrant for my arrest. I can avoid the arrest by arranging for the money and then call him back at 415-251-7622 for wire transfer instructions. I knew this was a scam and tried further to get a physical address to send the check (so I can report that to IRS) but he kept repeating that I should call him once I had the funds to wire. Beware.....!

SOMEONE CALLED ME FROM THIS NUMBER SAYING THAT I OWE THEM( IRS) MONEY AND I HAVE TO PAY BACK ASAP.

Same as the below comments.  Got a call today, 2/5/14.  Sounded like an Indian accent with very poor English, claiming to be from the IRS (gave a supposed IRS ID #) and threatened legal action, saying I could be arrested blah blah... Said I owed $6,490 in "tax deficiency" but couldn't say for what year. Obviously a scam, when I tried to get more info from him he hung up.  I called back again but no one would pick up.

Exactly the same script as RS, above, except it was Michael Morgan and my reference number was 567198. One thing that stood out was they used my first name and my wife's hyphenated last name. Pretty obvious... To me, the thick accent would be considered "asian"--Indian, Middle-Eastern or Pakistani. I would classify this call type as a scam, which isn't an option listed...

I got a call this morning at 10:00 A.M.from Novato Ca 415-251-7622 tried to call back but no one answered. Below  is the message he left on the voice mail.
"This message is intended for so and so and the  second you receive this message I need you or your  attorney off record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My name is Robert Williams from Tax litigation Department and hotline to my division is 415-251-7622 I repeat 415-251-7622. Don't try to disregard this message. Do return the call as soon as possible before any legal action takes place. We have determined that there is a discrepancy in your income tax. Your reference number is 568663. I repeat 568663. Good bye. and take care.

We have also received a call from this number. The number said "Private Number" so it was notably sketchy from the beginning. We didn't pick up the phone but the person who left a message had a thick accent that was untraceable. The message was hard to understand but we picked up the words "IRS" and "legal allegations". We called the number and they informed us that we needed to pay about $5000 before the next day or the police would come to arrest us. They stated that we needed to send the money through a wire transfer or cash, which the real IRS would not force. They would have asked for a web transfer. Luckily, we checked the number online and it led us to this blog-spot. We also looked at the IRS website which provided information about phone scams.

This shouldn't happen to anyone else and this problem seems to be quite recent. Please contact your local IRS office if you get any calls.

I got a call 10:30 AM on Feb. 4 from "Chris Brown" from the IRS with an accent so heavy I had to keep asking him to repeat. I ask him what this was about, but all he told me was it very important to call him back. I have friends in the 415 area code so I answered  the call, but will let answer machine pick up next time . I know from past experience the real IRS will send you a letter in the US mail before trying to contacting you via phone.

Got 5 threatening calls from Novato? Ca. 1-415-251-7622 she wanted me to call some guy named michael carter or I would be served a summons and be arrested tomorrow. Heavy foreign accent. I got so frustrated started yelling at her to send me a letter and to stop harrassing me but dont think she gonna call me again! I scared the crap out of her! Please dont fall for this obvious scam. Said decrepency in my taxes! Dont think this thieving bi*** will call me again....

This is definitely a pretty low quality scam to cheat people. The caller has a thick foreign accent and appears to be reading from a script. I got 3 voicemail messages from so called Sam Taylor from Tax Litigation Department saying there is a deficiency in my income tax. The caller threatens not to disregard the message and instructs me to call hot line to his division. I have reported the phishing incident to IRS and hope that they take action against these low down, mentally challenged creeps who think everyone in the world is a moron like them.
