Same scam, different phone number 917-398-9552 (New York City). Robo call asking me to hit "1" to respond. Supposed to have had my name drawn for a $2500 Cancun vacation. Hung up immediately.

Am in Toronto. They called at 9:00 p.m. The 415 area code is California. The 'you've won a cancun vacation scam people" have a new line. A recorded msg. saying somebody put your name in for a draw at a Canadian retail store - Zellers, Bay, or Walmart, Press 1 to get a $2,500 credit for this free vacation. Had enough of these morons. Too bad Canadians can't register on the US DNC list.
This scam must be back in vogue, as I have gotten this same pitch (with a slight variation) from 3 different phone numbers in the last month.

They hit both my numbers within 20 minutes of each other - another "robo-caller" scammer I would guess. We just hang up on these before they even start their recorded pitch. Do be too sure these calls actually originate in California. They use VOIP and "spoof" the phone number into the system to beat the folks who reject calls from unidentified callers.

What surprises me is that Sears, Walmart, Zellers do not do something about using their name(s) in false pretense, to entrap naive people into giving out their credit card numbers etc. The call comes in every other day at work, home, cell.......

Just received a call on each of my lines within 20 minutes - another robo-call scammer that is likely spoofing the TELCO with false caller ID information. Gee - I guess I must be really lucky to win 2 $2500.00 trips in such a short time. NOT!

They said the same thing to me, that someone at my household recently shopped at wal-mart, zellers or sears and entered in a contest to win an all inclusive vacation. scam!

I have been harassed by these people for weeks. They always call at about 12-1 pm. If they call my cell phone, they break the call before it connnects. When they phone my home line, it is an automated call advertsing for Sears and Walmart. This has happened almost every day for weeks now. No human comes on the line.

Yeah...won a $2500.00 trip to Cancun as well...apparently I entered a contest through WalMart...guess I'm so good I don't even have to enter contests...spam
