Just got a call from them and then they talked about a dining card and a gift card along with samples.  then they said they will ship these supplies with a fee of 1.95 for the package.  How are they going to charge me I did not give any monetary information if they charge my phone company I will dispute this charge.  in the meantime I am reporting this to the federal goverment.

I got a call from this number and it had NOTHING to do with seniors or Life Alert. They are fishing for name, birth date and a credit card or debit card number. I gave them a bogus name, and BD. I let them run the pitch and then when the asked me to pay them the LOW,LOW price of $1.95 for a $100.00 gift card, a $50.00 diners card and "A Big lot of free samples." I told them that I just filed bankruptcy. The little girl, that sounded Asian, was not happy at all. :(
I handled a call last week by telling the marketer that I was on the DNC and I received over 200 calls from them in a few days. They do not use the same number or one that is even in operation. They call from all over the country via cell # and land lines. They do not use the same # more than 5-6 times and it is not in a row.

This number just called me. It was an automated voice pretending that she was having trouble hearing me. Then would answer questions she was asking as if she was repeating me. Thing is I didn't answer any of her questions! Anyway she claimed I had won $150 Gift card for downloading an app on my phone and taking a survey that I haven't taken.

Keep getting unwanted calls from this Life Alert phone Number. I keep pressing "5" to be removed from their list, but the calls come almost every day.

The DNC List works just fine.  You know that the caller is a scammer or spammer simply because they are calling you.  Reputable companies follow the rules-- crooks don't.

Stop spreading misinformation.  Federal Do Not Call registration is permanent.  It says so right in the FAQ on the DNC website.  There are also many types of calls that are exempt since the DNC applies only to sales calls from companies you have not done business with in the last 18 months.  Most of these callers also do not need to know your number, they use automatic dialers that hit every number in a given area code and prefix in sequence.  Many of these disreputable callers also keep track of which numbers are live and then sell them to other disreputable companies.

Your action may or may not slow down the number of calls you get and makes no difference to the predictive dialers many call centers use since they simultaneously dial more numbers than agents to try and maximize agent usage.  Your number simply gets placed back in the queue to be called again.

I never registered on the DNC list because I know there is a way for "any one" to get your number, how do I know that, well someone that registered kept getting calls. So they called the DNC and found out that you have to keep registering your phone number. Can't remember if it is every 3 mos or a year. Just putting your number on there does not guarantee you not receiving unsolicited calls.

The best action I have found for me is.....hit talk......then hit end call. I do it all the time.....it has got to really irritate the caca out of them.

Thanks for your post of information.
I know that "any" collection agency can not collect from you without your signature stating that you give that agency to collect for your debtor.
They have to send you that paper with your signature on it.
I had one trying to collect from a debt over 20 years ago, which I had no clue what they were talking about.
Yes these collectors are big scumbags.

Hi Lola:  did you report this call to the Do Not Call Registry?  The agency does not check your phone calls.

NIce thought on not doing business, and I don't.  But there must be enough morons out there that respond, because these calls (and emails, and junk postal mail) just keep on coming.  Don't hold your breath on people becoming smarter.

Called but didn't leave a message.   SF area code, which I had no reason to be receiving calls from,  so I checked here.   Number is added to my contact list as a telemarketer and assigned a silent ringtone.

People:  Tell your friends to never ever do business with an unsolicited phone caller. The government cannot make a dent in this problem, so the best way to fight is to make it unprofitable for these companies to keep annoying us!

Good point, IF you believe the feds will really do something, which I don't.  I've reported other such numbers and they still would call... and call... and call.  The only good the DNC list does if IF the telemarketers respect it.  More and more, they don't.

However, I got the Ooma phone service and it allows you to block not only a number, but an entire area code!  No more (415) area code calls for me.

Interesting way these turds have been getting past both the DNC and the Selected Call Rejection List.  The number we see isn't the number from which they call!  Let's say 415-363-9569 calls, I know it's Life Alert and I want them on the rejection list.  I place them on the list and the next day, I notice that they call again.  It's because they may be calling from a number that changed the last number from a "9" to an "8."  It's called an IVR System and a lot of telemarketing scumbags are using it to get past the DNC and our rejection lists.  This gets worse when it's a collection agency, because they want to avoid having you nail them for violation of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a Federal law!).  Each violation costs them $1,000, if you can record their violations...that's easy to do - contact the FTC and they'll set you up for "repeat offenders.  Let's grow some stones and do this!

Just got a call from this number. The name on the ID is "Life Alert" - I did not pick up and they left a recorded message about this "limited opportunity for seniors". SCAM. That is all.

This number claims to be some sort of life alert for seniors.  Must be crooks. I wish the stupid worthless government agency in charge of the Do not call list would do their job.
