I got a call from these people today. They said they are from UCLA doing some nonsense survey that will take 30 minutes to complete. They said they would ask me about my insurance, school information, sexual activity and other personal information. I was NOT about to give a complete stranger any of that information. I told them I wasn't interested and asked them how they got my number, and of course they didn't answer my question directly and I told them I'm not giving any information to them. The guy on the phone told me to check out their web site: californiahealthsurvey.org and gave me their number. They asked it they can call back in a week, and I said no that I will call them (which I won't) and they said how about a month, and I told them again, I will call them, then I hung up.

Most people don't understand the do not call list ONLY applies to telemarketing. This is a survey. It doesn't matter if you're on the dnc list-the list does NOT apply and this company is NOT breaking any laws. If you don't want them to call again, listen to the intro, then decline. If you hang up or interrupt before the intro is finished, you will likely be called again.

I used to work for Westat Inc, and I know for a fact that they are NOT Debt Collectors. All you have to do is google Westat Inc, and you will find all the information you want. It is a pretty big company and they are who they say they are when they call.

I got a call from this number and i participated. Most of the questions were about my feelings, health situation, behavior, household, earnings, health care plan, and zip code. There was a question towards the end of the survey about my street address. I asked not to put my address. She said they'll need my address for the check. I asked if ican give her a different address. She was unsure if her system will take a different city and. zip code but i guess it worked. She is very polite and i think it is really about health care because of some medical terminologies and illnesses mentioned on some questions.

Got a call from this number today, lady said she was from the CDC. As soon as I answered she said she was from CDC and started asking questions and said I qualified for survey, I said I wasn't interested and she sounded bewildered saying I had a chance to better health coverage in my country. I don't like answering personal questions to someone who could be lying about their identity..

Here is my original post:
13 Jan 2012 This is a place conducting a health survey for UCLA. When I told her I wasn't interested, she condescendingly informed me they weren't selling anything. I said no again...she argued...I hung up. Got a letter in the mail today saying that they want us to participate in the survey, but when they recently called it wasn't a good time for us to talk. The letter advised that when they call again, we should either answer their questions, or pick up and tell them when would be a better time to call. REALLY? No wasn't clear enough? Don't bother picking up unless you want to take a survey! Caller: WESTAT
They have never stopped calling me, but calls have diminished from 3 per week to 1 or 2 per month. Hard to believe they're THAT persistent, so when they called again today I answered. I was informed that they had been trying to reach me for a long time to take a public health survey. I told the guy I had asked to be removed from the list and not to call again. Wanna make bets about what happens next? AARGH!

It gets pretty annoying when this number (240-453-2908) keeps calling and calling! I have asked NICELY once for these people to stop, but 2 hours later guess what....So from now on,whoever you are,you will be getting "The phone is NOT accepting phone call from YOUR phone number." *Smirks*

Nobody likes to say mouthy, know-it-all, obnoxious, pushy, and full of themselves, but this time I'll make an exception. Yes, they have been asked not to call. No, they have not heeded our wishes. I refuse to believe that any serious research organization would actually behave in this manner. I hope someone does something about them, and soon. There's no sense in being courteous to them, they simply can't understand that sort of behavior, apparently.
| Stopcallingme 2012-06-26 18:34:48 Unknown |
These people have been asked to stop calling, and continue to phone anyway. How do we report them? There has to be some agency who can stop their nuisance calling! They don't get a free pass to keep being obnoxious just because they say they're "doing research" or they're "a nonprofit" or whatever the story is this week. If they've been told to stop calling, they need to stop calling. This really is harassment.

My wife answered and they said that they are doing a health survey for UCLA. They asked if we had kids, then they asked for my first name, which my wife gave them. Let's see what happens next....

I have magic jack and was getting to the point that I was going to contact them regarding calls like the ones I have been getting from this number. Now that I hear it is random smapling am am somewhat relieved. I NEVER EVER Ever ever answer surveys or talk to telemarketers or unsolicited calls. Call me part of the paranoia bunch... yes I am... but I am in the drivers seat of my life whenever i CAN be because increasingly so in our government heavy, internet prying, litigious "I can sue you if I don't like the taste of your ham sandwich" society, BECAUSE if you cannot sit in your own home without having to be contacted and then investigating and verifying the validity and motives and then wonder if somehow a new scam is upon us... well... YOU GOT MY NUMBER????

These people call me at least 4 times a week........I have asked several times for a Do Not Call.....Not a survey....
| Sandy in San Diego 2012-03-07 15:51:47 Unknown |
They left a message once, something about a survey. Now they just call and hang up a couple times a week. I tried calling this morning but after the first recorded message was on hold, then it rolled to voice mail. They're calling my cell number which is really annoying.

These people are relentless and ruining my life. I don't care how much they're willing to pay me to take their survey. I don't want to help them.

I been getting this number SO many times on my cell phone, and I remember picking it up once! This woman mentioned university of California but talking too damn fast! Only once I picked it up but continues to call me and even last night!!
University of California yeah right.. traced the number located in Maryland with the Verizon company!

Has anyone thought to just ignore these? Don't let them annoy you! I have caller id for this reason, so I can tell who is trying to call me. You can turn up the TV real loud, or put in your earbuds as soon as you see who it is, and just ignore them. If you don't answer they will eventually go away!

More than seven calls on behalf of some UCLA organization. I don't actually know because I interrupted the caller when I answered in an attempt to stop this harrassment. I asked to be placed on the do not call list, and the caller said she would do so. However, I'm still getting calls every weeknight. To my cell phone! I thought this wasn't allowed!

Keep calling my cell leaving no message. I wrote the company requesting no more calls to any of my phones. They hide their identity from a simple internet search, but their address is Westat Inc
1600 Research Blvd., Rockville, MD 20850. I wrote them to get my number placed on their "do not call" list. If the calls do not stop - I intend to pursue them through the FCC and any other agencies I can dream up.
