unwanted calls

So why are they calling my house 2-3 times a week and hanging up? I own my home, no loans. This is a fraud at best, hoping to nail a sucker about to lose their home so they can rob the sucker of some quick cash and the house.

got a call several times now from 4157880288, they leave a call back # for 8889767863, just asking for a call back stating they are housing educational program, i dont call back, but receiving such calls is unnerving!

This is the number for the Housing Education Program. It states on their website that they are a division of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Francisco; a non-profit financial counseling agency. I looked them up on HUD's website and was able to locate them under the list of "approved housing counseling agencies." They provide free help for homeowners with mortgage issues.

Received message from this # asking for my wife(?) & giving a return # - 877-511-2272  for the www.housingeducationprogram.net.  Not a solicitation, they claim.  My wife rec'd the same call right after me.  No harm, no foul.

I recieved a call fromthis number after I'd tried to refinance my loan but the closing costs were outrageous. I asked her who she was and how she got my number after she told me she could help with a modification. I told her I didn't need a mod I wanted to refy. She stated Freddie Mac gave it to her. Ok 2 weeks later this lady has called my job. I am not late on my payment so why is she calling me. Seems like it's third party disclosure to give out info.

Got a call late at night on my cell claiming to be with the "Housing Education Program".  Provided a call back of 877.511.2271 and website URL of www.housingeducation.net.  It seems to be a dumb down version of another "Housing Education Program", which also claims to be part of the San Francisco Division of Credit Counseling, at website https://www.housingeducation.org/ and their phone number 800.777.7526.  Seems either they don't realize that they have two different websites or one is a scam.  I've never lived in San Francisco, let alone California.   Also, this number is a Verizon number in PITTSBURGH PA.  Sounds like a Scam, I've added them to my ignore list and filed a formal complaint with the FTC.

I had a call from this number also.  They did leave a message reminding me I had spoken with them about a month ago.  

If you go to the website http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov and contact them about loan modifications, this is one of the companies you may hear from later.

It is a consumer credit counseling center.

It's Consumer Credit Counselors of San Francisco. My husband & I went through debt management with them through our credit union at no cost to us at all as it was a service provided by our credit union.

I don't know if this is a scam agency or what, but somehow they've obtained both our private home numbers and cell numbers - research says they are a consumer help type agency - i will not answer these calls anymore

I don't pick up for numbers I don't recognise.  Originally when I received calls from this number, they would leave me voicemails.  Despite the fact that I say who I am in my voicemail message, they were leaving messages for someone with a different name.  I intended to answer (if I could - if I wasn't at work, for example) the next time they called, so I could let them know they have the wrong number.  However, every time they called me I was at work, so I was unable to do this.  They stopped leaving messages for awhile, and then started leaving them again, but using my name this time.  After that, I was still unable to pick up but they no longer left any voicemail.  I'd only receive one or two calls a week when it started, but now I get at least two calls a day.  Since they never call at a time I'm able to pick up, I've just blocked them so I don't have to see their number anymore.

It's true. they are not an aggressive company or a collection agency. I got a call today, but I'm eligible for their services through my credit union and simply didn't recognize the number when they called. They are a consumer counseling agency and they are helping me with my credit scores and how to improve my credit and helping me set up a budget. It was strictly voluntary. Not a solicitor or bill collector. The call I got from them was to confirm they had rec'd the credit reports I faxed to them yesterday so I could set up my credit counseling appointment.

I received a call from a women at this number. I have been getting a lot of calls like this latley. Whenever I answer I always get asked if this is James. Somebody has been using my number for student loans, BlockBuster, and during the election I would get calls from President Barrack Obama.( Just the reccordings) I am not a regerstered vote! I am tired of getting these calls!

I saw the number come up said it was Consumer Credit...did no answer phone. They called back 5 times in a row, I finally picked up the phone and they HUNG UP!!!! What's up with that?!!

It's the HOPE program that helps with people in danger of losing their homes.

when get home, see the calls on caller ID.
today, they have called twice, when answered, just static, then hang up.
