Telemarketer
I keep getting call from this company from number 4158485720. Unfortunately our phone systems does not allow to block the number, so just let it go to voice mail. Very annoying, cheesy sale persons.

That is absolutely false. I have never been placed with insight global but i have gone on an interview with Booz Allen Hamilton, which too my knowledge... is not a debt collector. Bad experience, good experience, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But the debt collector stuff? come on now.

Keep calling me - got a job opening, blah blah... actually she did not have any opening, just fishing around.
I asked her to send me more info on the job through email - Oh! company policy does not allow me to do that... what a bunch of BS!!

I'm an IT professional who is on the job market waaay to long.  I received a call from their Bay Area office.  Before I called them back, I went to glassdoor.com.  This is a legitimate web site and they have comments from all over the place.  I spoke with the person who called me and she was pleasant and professional.  If you look at glassdoor.com, you can find many companies and organizations where employees rate the companies that they work for and you can find the average salary for whatever company or organization you want to work for.  In this day & age, companies like Global Insight are necessary in this business climate.

Just a thought, maybe they saw your resume and felt that from your prior experiences and skills listed they couldn't find a suitable match for you? Secondly, maybe they called your references and your references couldn't vouch for the skills and experiences listed? If a recruiting company was hounding you for your resume and references and then when you submit it to them they stop calling you. Common sense would tell you that they were not interested. A lot of companies don't have time to call you back and tell you that you are not qualified. Furthermore, some companies will not get back to you because they are in fear that by telling you that you are not qualified for a job they could be in jeopardy of being stuck with a lawsuit from you based on your background.

Debt Collector
These people sell the information they gather to debt collectors, if they aren't in fact, debt collectors themselves.  It is surely a scam and a paper mill for fraud. I lost my job and people are calling all of my ex-employers in order to shame me into paying or calling them.  They're wasting their time with this kind of antics.

I can tell you for a fact that Insight Global is a SCAM. I went to one of there offices and found a 19 year old "Senior Recruiter" that talked with me for 4 minutes and a half, tried to insert my information into there "system", was denied because Windows XP didnt even have applications installed on it, then sent me home. 40 miles each way for what?  I called them back 2 days later on the "position" they had available and found out that Evan, the Senior Recruiter was out of town...... 4 days laters I called again and found out that "they were looking for a position for me" and that "they would call me back the next today". Still waiting for the call.... This was 1 month ago.....SCAMMMMMMMMMM

I got a phone call today from an Insight Global recruiter telling me she had a position as a "project manager" in a town that was an hour away. She said that she understood the commute would probably be too much but wanted to know the names of companies I had recently interviewed with. She also wanted the names and phone numbers of the people I had the interviews with. She asked about who I reported to at my former employers asking for spelling of their names and wanting their phone numbers as well.

I asked what Insight Global did and she told me they were an IT Recruiting firm with contract positions. Please read my resume before calling me and soliciting phone numbers of people I have interviewed with and worked for. I am a Human Resources Professional, not a tech person. Why on earth would I want a job as a project manager for a tech job when I am an HR Generalist?

Within seconds she sent me an email asking for my resume, hmmm, didn't she get my contact info from my resume? She also wanted all the "references" as she called them with phone numbers. I told her in the phone call that if a specific position came up that we could discuss references then.

I will not give my opinion on this phone call, but let the reader of this come to their own conclusions.

I had a contract thru them, and they certainly were nice on the phone and in person.  However, I found out that they did 'lowball' me on my hourly pay# and while the party line is to 'contact them for any questions', I found this to not be the case at all.  They will talk to you if there is any issue with me getting THEIR timecard submission (and yes, my pay, too).  They would prefer not to give you the time of day otherwise.  They seem to be too busy to answer the most basic questions with anything but a curt answer, even by email.  They misrepresented the job (a little), but that is acceptable:  they are not experts in my field, they are simply the go-between the company and myself.  I don't think they really understand what my job was.  Which is why I will go with a more technical recruitment company next time.

Timecards are the dumbest thing to submit, too.  When I did them, they were done as decimal time.  With a chart at the bottom of the page.  Are you kidding??  What the h$!! is a COMPUTER for besides doing this for me? How f#$%&@* hard would it be to just have people (yes, contractors are people, too!) enter the time as, well, time.  Even 24-hour or 'military' time would be fine.  And overtime.  Per day?  Why?  Nobody could answer this one.  Over 40 hours is overtime - per week.  Couldn't I just have entered an amount of hours or even in-out, in-out (for lunch or a break in the shift)?

# I expect that the majority of these companies would rather their agents push the lowest rate possible.  Why not?  Its like buying a car.  The public in either case usually comes in with incomplete information, so they are the weaker party when bargaining.
Is this legit?

Go to glassdoor.com and check out all the positive comments from all their new hires with 5.0 across the board.   I can't believe any company is a 5.0 especially IG.   Must be at least 8 entries in past 2 months one after the other.   New push to increase their ratings.   IG is not a company you want to be anywhere near when they start having their meltdowns.

Employment scams (where there is *NO* job) include but are not limited to:
1. Victims pay $$$ up front for required crap like uniforms, certification, background check, 1/2 airline ticket, etc.
2. You don't quite qualify for the job but are counseled to go back to school (scammer gets paid on college referral).
3. You give your personal info because you believe you are applying for a real job which can lead to ID theft.
4. Your job as financial agent is to receive checks, cash them at your own bank, and Western Union cash away (checks will bounce).
REMEMBER -- THERE IS *NO* JOB.

A friend asked me if I would be a work reference for him.  Sure, no problem.  This company called me for a reference, which I was happy to give.

Then, they kept insisting on a meeting just to give me some information on their staffing services.  I felt like they were using my friend's references for cold calls.  I am not in the market for a staffing company and didn't like how persistant this company was about meeting.

Sorry, but they are a scam.  I'm a hiring manager in one of those "Fortune 1000" companies, and we never work with Insight Global because of their deceptive business practices.  Whenever they call me, I simply hang up.  There are lots of staffing agencies out there that I will use, but Insight Global is defiitely not one of them.

I got a call from "John" from Insight Global as well. They left a message and I definitely will NOT return the call after seeing this post. How did they get my name and number? Only from pilfering my resume somewhere. And yes very generic aobut the job that I was a "good fit for". Yes "John" definitely sounds like a used car salesman!!

I'm glad to hear that IG actually sends you thousands of dollars for overtime work and back pay?    By law they are supposed to pay you what you earn to include overtime.   Unless of course you are paid to post positive comments as an IG internal employee?  And just as an FYI, they take their 50% plus cut of whatever your employer pays them for your services.   So of course the recruiters are going to be nice, you're paying for their lifestyles.

This issue was a matter of having the wrong location in an Outlook signature due to recently being hired. There certainly is a San Jose location, and the company is not a scam. I have attempted to contact this person by telephone, but have been unable to do so. I am very apologetic for the error and the inconvenience to you. Check out our website at www.insightglobal.net. Also, if you have any questions or complaints you can certainly contact our Atlanta office to speak with the HR department, I hope this helps, and again I apologize for the confusion.

If you were contacted by me with this signature it was in regards to a job opportunity for Insight Global, Inc., a technical staffing company. You can research the company more at the website www.insightglobal.net. If you have had a poor experience with the company then I do apologize. You should look into contacting our HR departments and explain the issue that had occurred. Hopefully, this is helpful!

Well John in Maine is making the rounds for all the Insight Global Posts, so take what he says with three or more grains of salt.    I heard that the Atlantis Incentive trip in December 2010 was one of the best since Spring break in College.   That's why their contractors don't get paid anything.    So how much is a trip to Atlantis cost per person all expense paid?  times 100 top Account Mangers and recruiters and District Mangers and Area Managers and every other manger for 6 days?   Got to be close to a million dollars?

Sorry, I accidentally mis-posted this message elsewhere in this forum. I'm re-posting here because this seems like the best place based on the conversation. Well, I can't attest for any Insight Global office bearing a 413 area code. I can however, tell you of my own experience with Insight Global based out of Massachusetts. I was still living in New York and looking to move up to Maine. I posted my resumé on Yahoo's Hot Jobs. I did receive a few calls from 2 different people at Insight Global who used terminology such as I seem like I would be a "GOOD FIT". To me, this sounded like boiler room telemarketing terminology. I ignored the calls. The callers both sounded like they were fast-talking car salesman. I moved to Maine and the job I was expecting to begin suddenly fell through. I decided (in a moment of panic and desperation) to call this Insight Global (which to me even sounds like an investment or sales telemarketing group). I did a few computer tests for them on a designated website. Apparently I had missed a few of the questions. The recruiter told me the specific ones I got wrong and let me do it again. I passed with 100% the second time. They immediately placed me with an inbound call center in Scarborough Maine. I started at $12.00 per hour and was at $13.50 within 2 months (after the company converted me directly). The staff at Insight Global were nothing less than helpful and became my salvation at a very difficult moment in my life. It's very unnerving being in a new state and suddenly without a job. I wasn't very happy with the job I worked (only because it wasn't quite the customer service I was expecting) but it was a stable company and I could have stayed. I chose to leave in pursuit of a less stressful atmosphere. I called Insight Global because I knew they could place me elsewhere. Unfortunately, had I lived in Massachusetts I could have been working the very next day. The job in Scarborough was the only one they had in Maine and that's because the main office for this company was based in Billerica, Massachusetts. Anyway, they paid me every week. My checks went direct deposit. They were never short and never late. I have only praise to give to Insight Global, and this is based on ACTUAL EXPERIENCE rather than the initial impression I had based on what other's have said or what I derived by the sound of the original telephone messages. Again, I know they are a national agency whose payroll came out of Atlanta Georgia. They are a legitimate company and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if the need should arise. I hope this posting is of some help to those considering Insight Global. They get a total thumbs up from me.
