Yes, you're probably on the list of potential donors. Professional telemarketers have computers that call numbers for them. The computers are dialing numbers constantly and simultaneously so when a caller is free, they can jump right to another call. What happens when there is silence on the other end is that the computer connected the free caller to another number milliseconds before you picked up the phone. Simultaneous dialing - saves time for them, annoying for us.

It is SF Ballet, fundraising bc they lost 44% of their funding from Federal gov.

I also answered the phone "Hello?  Hello?" the caller said nothing and hanged up the phone. I did go to SF Ballet recently so that might be it (?)

These people call me at all sorts of odd and crazy hours. Late in the evening, early early morning, all throughout the day. It seems very unprofessional, as the SF Ballet, to note leave a message to explain the reasoning for their call or send a letter in the mail. The incessant calling is really bothersome, and disruptive to my day. This has been going on for weeks and weeks, now. Enough already!

Yep, Its the SF Ballet calling from this number.

I did not authorize these people to call me and have asked them no 2 separate occasions not to call again.  They continue to call and then hang up before or when I answer.

It's probably fund raising.  They used to call me years ago, and today I got another cold call.  Oy.

Received 2-calls today from this number, but I did not pick up the phone since I did not recognized the number. And later to discover it is supposedly SF Ballet. Now, why would SF Ballet be doing any cold calling? This is so unprofessional.

I have sent an email to the SF Ballet re: daily harassing phone calls to my home and even pointed to this website showing others' complaints.

I can't stand getting their phone calls, please help.

Is this a SCAM?

Geez...all I did was attend a recent matinee performance of Le Sacre du printemps and now I receive on the average of three calls per day. Dear SF Ballet: Trust me. If I could afford to I'd buy a season ticket. But I can't. So kindly discontinue hounding me.

They're a nonprofit organization and therefore do not adhere to the governments do not call list. And yes they're persistent but once I answered the phone and asked to be taken off the list they stopped calling. I just had to talk with someone for about a minute.

Crank call. I pick up and hear background noise, but nobody responds. WTF is the SF Ballet doing?  Why would I ever give them my information again?

Two nights in a row I have received a call from this number.  Both times I answered the phone "Hello?  Hello?" both times the caller says nothing and hangs up the phone.  SF Ballet is prank calling me?

It's the SF Ballet. They're not persistent. They're obnoxious. When I pick up no one says anything but there's someone on the line and they hang up. I've called back twice and left a message telling them to take my number off their list and to never call and they keep calling. If you've informed them you don't want them to call you and they persist, there is a place to report them on donotcall.gov (That's where you register your number for the do not call list.) It's really frustrating to get so annoyed by an organization I love so much.

Definitely the SF Ballet...if you go to the Nutcracker they will try to get you to buy more for the next season.

At least 5 calls per day, for several days now becasue I'm not picking up (and leaves no VM), evenly spaced every 4 hours 8 AM thru 10 PM - shows it must be a robot caller...  even though my number was put on the gov Do Not Call list!!  How do we report them for ignoring that federal law??

It's the San Francisco Ballet...They are pretty persistent.
