Second called received from someone calling himself Scott Roades. Wants interview with 10 construction companies.

Received a message from this number.  Says his name is Scott something and wants to interview 10 companies in construction industry.  I have also been getting the fax ping to my phone.

This morning I received a call from this person trying to interview the owner of the business. He said he is an editor of what company who knows.  He mumbles when he says the company name.  If he calls back I know this is scam. Thanks for your posts, they really help people

I too received a similar scam contact. The first time was an attempted FAX, from a blocked #. This was followed about an hour later by a phone call from the same blocked number where the person attempted to pass themselves off as a "reporter" doing "interviews" with companies like mine.

As he was introducing himself on the phone he "coughed" when he pretended to mention the name of the publication for whom he worked. This was actually rather funny as the person (like most scam artists) thinks they are very smart and that their marks are very dumb. In fact, this person is a slimy loser and not at all clever or convincing.

Pretended to be some editor wanting to interview "owners of construction companies or remodeling firms", which describes me.  This is the second such from this person and it seems my number, which is public, as it is listed for my business, gets robo-pinged with a fax machine.  When I hear the fax tones, I hang up.  Shortly after, the phone rings and I let it go to voicemail/fax pick-up.  The first time, when I heard this spammer's voice, I picked up and tried to talk to him, thinking it was legit.  It turned out it was just a recording, crafted to sound like a live person talking to an answering machine and there was no response to my speaking.  One of the more sophisticated slimeballs, I daresay.
