Same thing, car warranty scam pre-recorded message. I know there is ultimately no protection against this sort of mass spamming (I know a few other people who have gotten these 416-000-xxxx calls), but what I'm more concerned with is how they have gotten my cell number? Either they go through registered cell exchanges and run through 0000-9999 or they buy their call lists.

I got calls from 416-000-5319 and 416-000-3146.  They seems to target cellphones..as I did not receive such calls from landlines.

They call 5 times a day!! This is getting absolutely RETARDED. I've tried calling them back from my landline from [Not caring what the cost would be]. It'll ring twice then it says "I'm sorry the number you are calling is unavailable" ..Wtf.

How the hell do we get our number off of this list!!!

Ive been having the same problem. i've received at least 10 messages from these people, i was waiting to be able to actually  answer on one of these calls so i could actually press 2 but the call ended before i could. This is really quite annoying, hopefully someone finds out who is doing this and why.

exact same as everyone else. very irritating. i am outraged and have no idea how they retreived my number. said it was the 2nd message about my car insurance and that i needed to update it? i do not have a car, so clearly this is a telemarketing scam that needs to be halted.

Update: The company is called National Dealers Warranty Inc., a marketing company operating out of St. Louis, Mo. They run the warranty operation and its telemarketing workers use various names such as Canadian Auto Warranty Services and World Wide Warranties Inc. when calling consumers.

so i had this and the 416-000-7691 (which seem to be the same thing) call me over the past few days... I don't pick up but from reading both numbers' pages on here I can only deduce that its a scam to add numbers to a call list... they call you up and if you answer they have to give you the option (in Canada at least) to remove yourself from the list... if you do not choose to do so but you did pick up then they know that the random number they just tried does have a person at the other end and unless you remove yourself, you are now added to some other list...
I don't own car insurance.
It doesn't seem to matter but I'm with SOLO (part of Bhell)

Same thing, got the pre-recorded message about car warranty expiring. I know a few other people who have gotten these 416-000-xxxx calls, all on cell phones. I am wondering where these people get their call lists, or if they simply look up registered cell exchanges and simply run through 0000-9999... I'm less concerned about the call itself and more concerned about whether or not my number is being sold to telemarketers.

Same message as above. Expiring warranty on my car (that I don't have).

Got the same message on a Los Angeles cellphone number when I was there months ago. I was actually intrigued before being pissed off as to whom is trying to run this scam internationally. Must be some kind of outfit.

Got this call 1 minute ago - 6:17pm. I didn't recognize it and with the first 3 digits after area code being '000' I figured it was some automated service or telemarketer so didn't answer. Within a few seconds I was notified of a voicemail and when I checked it, all it was, was a female's recorded voice saying what sounded like "Diego" followed by the automated voicemail system saying: "TO be removed from the follow up list, press 2."

As I had no idea what this was I did nothing but just erased the message. I will answer if they call again to find out what this is.

If this is regarding my car, that makes no sense since I have no warranty left on my car, I bought it second hand and the warranty expired a few years back already. Curious to know anyone else's experience now.
