A year since the last post and these guys are still at it.

About a year ago I decided to try something new and agreed to the cleaning. They sent a truck to our house in Ottawa, apparently all the way from Cornwall but that could be BS of course. I told them where to shove their service when they got here.

2 minutes later I received a call asking why we refused them - that they had to travel so far so I blasted the guy on the phone and went back out to the truck which continued to sit on the street. I blasted them and they split as soon as I started snapping a photo of their license plate.

Guess I'll need to book another apt.

They called on June 21, 2011 @ 13:11 EDT (and I think a few other times around there).  Never answered, but sounds like that was for the best!

there is cuple company who using telemarketing from india ,pakistan this people do not care if you complaine you can not reach them ,they register corporatinn in Canada using call forwarding operating from other  c****y for evry ducts cleaning or others services geting fees but be awere this ducts cleaning people are more interesting stiling goods from hausholds then ducts cleaning ,our phone company are more interesting profit then people complain ,they should

After 30-40 calls to my home, someone finally had the guts to say anything.  The do***ebag telemarketer had a thick, hasty East Indian accent and rushes through his questions.  Here was the word-for-word conversation, and I suggest you follow suit (if you are so lucky to find someone who has the guts to answer the phone on their own call, it took 40 tries in my case), as I have since not had a call in the past week.

Me: Hello? (Pause 3 seconds) Hello?  (Pause) Hello? ...about to hang up...
Do***ebag: ...10 seconds later... Are you owner of house?
Me: Yes
Do***ebag: You need duct cleaning.
Me: (Speaking very slowly and clearly). Just had it done. Ducts were cleaned last week. OK for next 10 years.
Do***ebag: You need duct cleaning.  We have special 50% off.
Me: I don't need it, I just had the ducts cleaned last week.
Do***ebag: When you have cleaning?
Me: Last week. Don't need cleaning.  Take me off your list.  Stop calling.  I repeat, stop calling.

SOME GUYS ARE WORKING OFF A CELL PHONE- TRYING TO MARKET UNDER ACTION DUCT CLEANING- THEY SAID HEAD OFFICE IS IN TORONTO, AND LOCAL OFFICE IS AT 51 HURON ST ?  BEWARE!?  I THOUGHT COLD CALLING FORM DIRECTORY LISTINGS WAS ILEGAL!!

This number calls at least three times a week, I answer, they hang up.  We are on the DNCL, this is crazy.

This is a scam. They're using a fake Caller ID so reporting it is pretty much a waste of your time. Just call block them. Non-approved numbers on my phone go directly to voicemail without ringing my phone.

The DNC List is just a tool, the CRTC can only impact the little guys trying to get ahead, the bigger problem is the numbered companys that this is outsourced to.  I keep sending the complaints but when the call display number does not connect to the caller in another country its not enforced..  Bell Canada is consistently on CRTC's radar and I'll assume not helping for their own reasons.  If we keep complaining the legislation will catch up..  I keep them on the phone when I have time as long as I can, asking them to spell their name, try to get a call back number, asking who provides the service, sub contracted.....  I know I can not stop them, but now I look forward to the calls

Unknown who called but Caller ID SHowed Unknown Name, with the Number 416-277-1688 at 4:45 PM on 2011-06-27 THere was a Truck that came around the neighborhood, but that was for Driveway Sealer. from a known company. also with an 800# on the truck, so not surre , but was co-incidental to the events listed here. Have Done a *57 Call trace for verification of Number in Bell Canada (Area Code 416) Records.

Call from 416-277-1688; had to say Hello twice... a man then asked for us by name.  When I asked "who's calling?" he had the nerve to hang up on ME?!  I called the number right back (you know, to educate the guy on telephone manners LOL) and the operator's recorded message:  "The cellular number you are calling is unassigned".  This wonderful gentleman has just joined the Hit List of Blocked Callers on my new Panasonic Phone with call block!  TA DA!

Repeated calls throughout the day today, 6/23 and for about a week.  Also use a different number, same area code.  Air duct cleaning service, but you know all this.

They called again, this time an actual person, not dead air, the name is Cool Breeze Home Services... I said I wouldn't sign up unless I knew the name of the company. After I finally got it I asked them to take me off their list, that I had already reported them, and that I was on the do not call list. Will complain again.

"Cool Breeze" duct cleaning. They called the other night and asked for my 3 year old by name. I've reported them a couple of times already.

I got that Duct Cleaning Service call before aswell. So i started to ignore the number even though im on the DNCL. After the 3rd day of ignoring the calls, I noticed something fishy. Someone drove up to my house and parked there for a while, and when i walked out with my dog. They sped away.

I don't know about everyone else, but this seems like they are using it as a method to see if people are home to rob them... I'm glad im a big bulky guy they would be scared off.

They have called 5 or 6 time and no one will talk on the other end, not a sound, then they hang up.  Don't the check the no call list  which we have registered with.

For the past week, 416-277-1688 'unknown name' has called my Ottawa residence 2-3x a day, usually mid-morning, mid-afternoon then early evening.  Line is dead air, followed by a hang-up.  Called the number, which is evidently fake, leading to an individual message with no rings and a full message bank.

Has been swiftly reported.

Were you able to get the number from Rogers?  I'm on Rogers too. After I had done the *57 thing and asked for the number, the phone company told me they could not give ME the number.  I had to file a report to the police and the police would then request this information from the phone company.

Dealing with the police, they told me they would have to phone the phone company for the number, that it was a waste of their resources to be filing a report and that the phone company should give me the number without the police having to get involved.
