It isn't a matter of who is responsible for what and why, it's a matter or poor record keeping (or wherever the mixup happens) on the companies end and other people end up paying for it. It's a matter of what is legal and illegal. It's like they get paid to freakin harrass people and it isn't nice. They are rude to their customers. They are rude to the person on the other end whether they owe money or not. I have been seeking legal action for my case. I have also been doing some research as well. They call between the times they are supposed to, but they completely abuse the amount of times they are allowed to call. The numbers here aren't exaggerated. I have blocked the numbers that call excessively, but the more numbers I call, the more random others start to pop up. That is so that no one can touch them on the legal end, but it sure as heck is unethical.

Collectors are not allowed to call in excess of 10 times a day between a set time frame. I can't remember exactly what it is, but it is worth doing some research and filing the necessary reports. These calls need to stop whether to people who owe money or not.

Individuals paying or not paying their debts has absolutely NO bearing on phantom debt collectors who call and harass people!  Someone that owes a company $100 like the earlier poster has no responsibility for these criminals calling and harassing the wrong person.  Of course people should pay their debts if they owe them, but there is no correlation between more people not paying, and you getting more calls!  Get a clue!

If you owe them money, pay them! I get calls non stop from 5 different provinces a day. This isn't nice. I have never been to a money mart in my life. It isn't fair to those who don't pay money to them at all. They are looking for someone I have never heard of, but the number they have to contact happens to be mine. I have had my phone number for 10 years. Now I have to deal with someone else's mess that I really don't have the time to deal with.

The moral of this story people, please pay your debts. It would save people like me headaches and unneeded stress.

I hear ya, they called me 17 times in one day then 13 the next.  I owe them $300 and was seriously going to pay them last week until the harassment.  Now I enjoy when they call and just laugh.  I even answer and hang up sometimes.  Might pay them this week, or maybe not...

I switched my number to my fax machine and they still call me no lie, every 45 minutes to 1 hour all day. I cant believe this isnt harassment. I owe them 100 dollars, but frankly the level of harassment I get is actually keeping me from wanting to repay it when I can. I tried to make repayment arrangements 2 months ago but he guy said it wasnt good enough. Now they can kiss my....

This company is so f****n stupid, call 20 times a day for a wrong number??? Keep asking for REMMY, so if you are out there Remmy pay your god dam bills. This diguise the number and I end up getting calls from across the country. They are really stupid and they can't seem to grasp the fact that they have got the wrong number, criminals do that from time to time.

They call up to 7 times a day and do not indicate who they are calling for.  just a generic message that is left.  They even call on Sundays which is illegal in Nova Scotia.  Fraudsters.
