Heard of these scams that purchase online phone lines from within the states. Most of these people are from Africa and Europe using American lines to scam callers. I'm in Europe and even though I'm an American I don't know of anyone in Michigan. Again, these calls can't be traced.  Be safe

This phone number 7343699220 has a new gig!  Left a message for my spouse (called him by his name) needed to call them back for a added benefit on his Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance card with no extra charge.  When this female voice, instead of hanging up the phone, put it on hold, begin to hear music along with voices in background.  I had literally answer and hang up to stop the music!

Like the others, at least 2 calls a day.  I did answer and no response except a hang up.  In the few seconds before the hang up I tell them not to call.  I believe this is the number that has called first claiming to represent "sick children" then "our returning troops".  There was a report on TV about this being the new form of "scam".  I live in Michigan and this area code so didn't hang up immediately.  I sure will now.  Way too many scam calls and e-mails these days.

Sounds like you work for this telemarketer.  I don't need to be nice to a person who works for an organization that tries to hi-jack Amenicans by getting us to donate to some unknown organization over the phone.  It's a sleeve business, dishonest business you're in and needs to be shut down by the US Goverment (FTC or FCC).   Get a real job and make an honest living the way most Americans (including myself) do!

Also, a few technical factoids about telemarketing calls:

Most all telemarketing calls today are computer-generated.  In most cases, the person on the other end doesn't even know what number they're connected to, because the computer dials the numbers for them.

The computer is programmed for efficiency.  That means it is programmed to connect to a live person, and to immediately abort calls that it suspects are not connected to a live person.  How does it do this?  Audio detection.  If the computer detects a short burst of audio (such as someone saying "Hi" or "Hello", it connects the telemarketer.  On the other hand, if it detects a long burst of audio (such as the message on an answering machine), or if it detects no audio at all, it immediately disconnects the call and moves on to the next number in the database.  Sometimes, even when someone says "Hello", the computer, for whatever reason, doesn't pick up the audio burst, hence a hang-up call.  That's why you always hear that pause when you answer a telemarketing call - the computer is trying to decide what you are, and whether or not to connect the call.

As soon as you hang up on a telemarketer, the computer dials the next number in the database without skipping a beat, and so on, and so forth.  The person on the other end is just there to deliver the sales pitch - they have little if any control over the technical process.

Unfortunately, companies that are designated as "non-profit" can claim exemption from the DNC registry, and the criteria for "non-profit" is pretty loose.

I used to get calls from these DAV people all the time.  I solved it by adding a feature called Selective Call Rejection to my line.  I added (734) 369-9220 to the reject list.  Now they can call me 'til the cows come home, but they ain't gettin' through!  Yeah, it costs me $1.25/month, but it's  worth the peace of mind.

Oh, and don't try calling this number back - all you'll get is a busy signal.  This is just a pool number from a call center, and like most telemarketing lines, it's not equipped to accept incoming calls.  It's set up that way by design - they can call you, but you can't call them.

These calls are coming in 2 to 3 times daily. When I decide to answer, it is the computer calling to figure out when I am home so a human can call me at that time another day. I have asked to be put on no call list..really wondering if the list really does exist.....

Called today... Said they were from the National Cancer Assoc. Before he could get anything else out of his mouth, I said NO and hung up. I have been getting several calls from several different numbers. I have had it with these "group" calling at all hours with either dead air or wanting something. Almost all are scams.

I have been receiving these same calls from this number. I've answered and they say they are calling on behalf of leukemia foundation. I've politely declined and asked to be removed from their list. That was over six months ago. I receive calls form this number to this day sometimes 3-4 times a day.  I tried to call it back but it is a recorded message from (Insight TeleServices) saying that they were cal ling on behalf of charities. If I want to be removed from future calls list to push the number 1 indicating just that. I have done so six months ago, four months ago, and again within the last week. The calls still come in. I'm seriously thinking about filing a case to protect my rights. It should be some form of harassment and at the least a form of stealing since I pay for the minutes on my phone. Is there any committee out there actually regulating these callers and their affiliates? I'm on the do not call list, I've asked them not to call to no avail, what more can be done? I can definately say I will never give money to anyone who calls because there are too many rinkydinks trying to scam the volnerable. I do donate through my local charities. Helping is helping . If you should find yourself giving because of these callers I hope it is getting to the deserved ones. I wonder how much they pay these callers and the phone companies for their soliciting. Wouldn't that money be put to better use to help the less fortunate? Done venting, I tried reporting it to the do not call bureau but nothing happens. I don't even receive a response. I wonder if anyone actually monitors it? Thanks for reading I hope this helped you. If so I've done some good and that makes this worth while.

Caller wanted to send a pledge card for the Dying Children Foundation.  Stated that there are plenty of children with needs and this org has over 300 children they will help make wishes for.  I told him we are supporters of Make a Wish (we actually are) and prefer to continue supporting this charity.  Caller wished me a great New Year and closed the call.

This number called my house this past Monday night. My mom answered and they asked for me by name. When she told them I wasn't home they asked for mr. They didn't use a last name they just said mr. My mom said she asked who was calling and he just laughed and didn't answer. She asked where he was calling from and he wouldn't answer. Then he said it was just a courtesy call And hung up. I doubt that someone who laughs when asked who they are and refuses to answer is a legitimate person trying to raise money for something good.

I'm almost 100% certain this is the same caller with a different number of: 734-359-9228.  I looked the 359-9228 number up in the white pages online and the search came back as COMCAST phone of MI-ANN ARBOR. I called this comcast number 800-266-2278 and it asked me for a active phone number with an account or if I would like to active a account , I stayed on the phone and it stated I do not have an account but if I still wanted to talk to a rep push one now.  When the rep came on I told him of the silent calls and told him I wanted to  be put on their DO NOT CALL list.  He supplied me with a confirmation number and stated it may take 30 days for no more calls but after that I will no longer get them.  GOOD LUCK!!

Three calls in 2 days!!
I have a vtech phone system and can't find the manual.  Does anyone know how to block specific numbers??  I did the *77 deal and phone is supposed to block "anonymous callers," but I think there is a way to block specifics.  Would be very grateful for any help or suggestions.  Thanks.
