I'm in Nova Scotia an it keeps calling me

I just got a call from 4167331413 never left a message on my vm. i called it back and it answers and says goodbye....grrrr

This is a fraudulent operation disguised as a collection agency.
They use old or solved cases to harass people into paying them money that was either already paid or never owed to companies (mostly TELUS).
There is an class action suit against them in Quebec.

My mother had gotten 6 calls from this number 4167331413 to our house number which is a private/unlisted number and when she answers the call there is nobody on the line. WHO IS CALLING FROM THIS NUMBER AND WHAT THE HELL DO THEY WANT.

This  number has been calling me a few times as well it started yesterday i answered it and got no response There is a national list (somewhere out there) that you can input your number and be taken off the telemarketers lsit...which takes a month or so. Just stay away from putting your phone number on any forms on the internet because companies sell your information all the time.

I had been receiving calls (up to 10 per day) from a bogus US collection agency - 1-877-482-7697 for the last few months.  When that number eventually stopped calling I started receiving calls from this one. They would just hang up when I picked up. One has to wonder if these two companies are working together.

I would suggest not to reveal any information to anyone calling from this number as they are likely fraudsters like the other ''collection agency''.  Legit collection agencies must obey certain government imposed restrictions (like not calling more than once a day and only during business hours and not revealing any information to anyone but the person they wish to talk to).

it calls me the day after my bill falls due.

I get this call every day for the past several months.  Just got one a few minutes ago, they have been told that no one by the name they are searching for lives at this address.  Don't know what else to tell them.

Dead air. No one on other end, I hung up after 1 minute.

Yeah, same here and I'm in Ottawa too, although my voicemail  says I have a message but when I check it nothing is said.  WEIRD!!  I also got another call but the number was 416-645-2105 and it's the same thing!!!

Why oh why do these people bother to bother us?!  What they're calling about has nothing to do with me, never did, and still they pester me.

Further digging online and I have found a few interesting things.  First is people take a look at any dealings you've had with cell phone providers.  That should make it crystal clear as to how they are getting nonpublished numbers.  For example think if you owe any money to any cell account likely stemming from some outrageous past phone mortgage company...bell, rogers, tellus, virgin and now think of who you might currently use.  Their could be a link that your old and new providers are linked.

Next up...this CBV is noted to rude and not above shady dealings and bully tactics.  Its been reported that they have agreed to "negotiations" to then go back on their word after taken partial payments and demanding large sums of interest.  They do not represent the client whom is owed money like past creditors often hired....companies like cbv buy the old debts outright and begin their little campaign of terror and scare tactics must the same like loan sharking.  They cant get blood from a stone...if you've no money or assets tell the morons to take you to court and use caller ID to screen your calls.....dont let this amateur would thugs rattle you.

File a police report for harassment especially since those letters should be addressed to your father's estate and they should not be calling you especially if his debt was not shared by you (co-signed).  I am sorry you're having to deal with these idiots.  I know my own experience with one of them who likes to call people "waste of air" and "welfare maggots" when dealing with those who are permanently disabled and through no fault of their own can longer support themselves long after any debt was ever incurred.

The fact that they call at all hours just solidifies how truly impotent they are.  They know they cannot collect so instead they harass.  How sad must their lives be to take that type of pleasure? For what? Minimum wage? Sad, sad, truly sad.

Thats funny, I'm an insomniac who normally shuts her phone off at night anyways ....go ahead and call me at 8 am....even in the event that I had my phone on, BY LAW they cannot call before 7am and I can't remember the last time I wasn't up BEFORE the birds.

The fact that you had resort to such a negative and completely unintelligent rung as to swear and insult someone you don't know speaks volumes about both your character and reflects most fittingly onto your employers, quite obviously CBV!

They are also the same collection agency 888-326-1036 and have the up most unprofessional manner I have ever encountered.  Ive told them on numerous occasions that they have the wrong number but keep calling anyways.

I also have an unpublished number that my phone provider assures me no one has access to those records.  Oh well, they can keep calling because thats what caller ID is for.  Oh by the way, I have been told to document times ...more than 3 calls in 7 day period constitutes harassment and charges can be laid.

Here it is 2012 and they are still at it.  When you won't answer their 800 number they use this one.  I agree with Jenn - where do they get these grade niners from?  They can barely speak english - this is probably from a call centre in a 3rd world country where CBV can pay even less than minimum wage.  College degree to call normally good people with debt problems due to a ravaged economy, LOL ya right.  Unfortunately collection agencies are one of the few industries that prospers in a bad economy - they probably have debt themselves to have stooped so low as to work for a bottom feeder.  They get intense just before their pay cut off date to try to boost their wage with commission.  No pride with these guys eh?  Just turn off your phone before you go to bed and let them call, call, and call at 7am - that should hype them up for the day.  PS know your Province's collection laws - some allow calls from 7am - 9pm - of course they did not consult with the public before changing the 8am law.  Also watch that the debt is not past the statue of limitations for collections - 2 years in most provinces.  If you even acknowledge the debt or pay 1 penny of it, that time limit is reinstated.  Best not to talk to them at all.

Some woman has called me from this number twice and asks for Maria, which I have no idea about... and she says she'll keep calling again..

Also, calls on a Sunday after 5pm are against the law.
I work at a car dealership and they are calling me all the time! Not saying anything though. I'm gonna have a work with whoever is incharge

They call me a bunch of times too. Especially when I'm in class. I answered once and it said "you are now being connected to an emergency hotline, please stay online to stay connected, and stuff like that" and then I just hung up. This is my first cell and it's so annoying...

I had several call asking if you you mr so press 1 if you know him press 2 if not press 3 and today we had a call from that number and lady left very nesty message threatning us that she will start calling every day from 8 am i I callec the number and I get some body who a speaks really week engilsh who transfered to me to the supervisor and i talk to the supervisor that i did record the massage witch i will submit to my lower the guy he oppologise and he said that he will take my number frrom the list we will see i will keep that message in my lap top till we see
