they call my machine several times a day and NEVER once have they left a message

ya i dont even deal with cibc and they wake me up every day.  stupid f**** cant even speak english .  just another reason why i would never deal with that trash heap they call a bank

Here here!!  Put it this way...the banks and the collectors are in the business of making money.  They will threaten you in any way they can to try to convince you that it's in YOUR best interest to pay or settle.  The truth is that if you don't have any assets of value for them to take, then it's a waste of their time and money to pursue legal matters with you.  Therefore, just sit tight and avoid or block their calls.  Don't feel bad about it either.  They're in business just like everybody else, and all businesses have risk of default on payments.  Just think of the billions they rake in every year, and how they do it, and i'm betting you won't feel so bad anymore.

Regularly hang up on my machine but the odd time will send mail saying they tried numerous times to get a hold of me and I'm not complying.   If I didn't have call display how would I know they even call???

You are absolutely right! The best way to deal with any debt collector is to completely ignore their calls, and in fact block them if your phone company offers that service. Once they realize that their calls are being blocked, they will stop trying to call you, and will close their file on the matter. But they will never sue you as they do not have the power to do so. Only the original bank (lender) can so that, and if they thought that there was any chance of getting their money from you, they would have already taken such action on the account, instead of just passing it off to a two-bit collection agency which employs the scum of the earth agents solely on a commission basis, which of course is why trying to reason with them is an impossible task.

just don't answer if you're late in a payment or can't make a payment you don't need to deal with these people. if you're that poor that you're missing payments then there's nothing they can do to you and you don't need the added stress of dealing with people like this. obviously if you're missing a payment you have NO money to pay them with. if you answer you'll get this "i have no money" "well you need to make a payment" "well I have only 20 dollars for food" "well too bad send us the 20 dollars"

it's a scam don't trust this number it's CIBC and they want to hassle you. it is CIBC 100% they use this number to trick people into answering their phones and they want to hound you for a missed payment, or because you were five minutes late. they are the scum of the earth!!!!!!!! rot in hell!!!!!!!!1

No message. I do not answer anonymous calls. If it is CIBC, why don't they put their name on the call display?

this number is a scam belonging to scan artists. do not ever answer this number as you will be faced with nasty people who are tough acting and extremely rude, though they're probably little p**sys in person
never ever answer for these people or else you'll have a bad day.
