Just got a call from the "National Gifting Center". After reading all the comments I told the person on the phone that I wasn't interested in any scams or to sit through any presentations.

They said me and my wife had won in a draw. Since the phone records only have my first initial and they couldn't tell me what my first name was I told them I wasn't interested.

The person on the phone said they were calling from Buffalo. After trying to call the number back (whose area code resides in Toronto Canada) it said it doesn't exist and cannot connect.

Ive receive calls from this number many times this month. On the last call, when I told the guy that Im not interested...he laughed at me and said "Not interested in WHAT?". I said you're not calling from Buffalo because there's too much of a phone delay, and I hung up. Im sure they're calling from some Asian country. Wish there was a way to stop this.

Just got the same call and thank god I saw this on the net while I was talking, because I was just about to start confirming information... Although they did read back the form I filled out (which I never do) for the prize and it said I am married (which I have never been and do not lie about) so I looked it up. The nr. they gave me is supposedly in Woodbridge but I used to live there and their are no such tel. nr. sequences... SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

got a call, today around 1:30pm, the guy was very polite said his name was Anthony, mild indian accent, and told me my husband won a prize, by filling out a ballot at a grocery store last christmas(we normally don't do that, but hey-could be possible)he even had "our ballot right in front of him" and told me the ballot number. we were asked to go to 216, Chrislea 2nd floor, in Woodbridge Ont. to claim our prize. it sounded off/ too good to be true(cause i have already been to these hokey presentations for a light meal(pasta/salad) and a pushy rep trying to get us to buy timeshare..we were interested initially cause we thought it could be done to places in canada, but no - they only had outside the country destinations), but i was very bored today, so i listened to the whole spiel that took a total of 15-20 minutes. It is amazing at how smooth these guys can be- DON'T FALL FOR IT- when we did attend these presentations we would "win" things like free accomadations for 1 week, but you know, we have to pay the airfare, blah blah...
Don't waste your time any further, please read the coments from Earnest and check out the link, tons of people who went to the presentation felt bullied and that it was a waste of time.I couldn't even find any info on this so called "Better Business Bureau" company "Rogers Staffing".
Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for this helpful input... I just got off the phone with this person, everything was fine until the end of the conversation when they were trying to REALLY get me to go... and, somehow said I had filled out a ballot but then stated my wrong age - I bet the post at the very top of this page is the guy on the phone, as it reads as he spoke and is the only positive feedback i've seen...

Hi....I kept searching on the web and found this site.  Consequently, I'm obviously not going given the description everyone is giving is identical to what the person on the phone talked about.  Although it looks like a different number.....

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-202-300-4914/4

The address they describe is exactly the same and one person went and gives his account.  Thanks.

Hi...I got the same call yesterday as well (and sounds like same Woodbridge location on Chriflea Road).  I discussed with my wife and we decided to check it out.  If it looks shady or something, we won't even go in and just go out for dinner somewhere.  I found this site as I was trying to find something to give some sort of reassurance that I'm either not wasting my time or getting scammed somehow (despite the no signing/no money/no nothing - just 2 pieces of id required).

Hopefully I'll post positive news in the next day or 2.  I'm hoping its legit as I see the first post was back in July and if this is a big scam or something, I would hope there would be complaints or issues having the police do some arrests or charges.  Thanks.
