Sounds like Brian and I had a similar conversation. I tracked down what this number is. A company called tollfreeforwarding.com rents out phone numbers so you can have a "presence" anywhere in the world, and the incoming calls are forwarded to you. This number is one of about 20 listed for Toronto. You can rent a number for hours, or months.

They called my "business" cell phone to say I had won a trip to Disney in Florida. She said I registered on line. If I am going to enter anything I will not use my business cell. She too knew my name, address, wife's name and then wanted to verify my Visa card. I told her I do not use Visa or ANY credit cards and that threw her off her scripting. Oh it was scripting as she never shut up or allowed a spot to interrupt.
This is a HUGE scam and needs to be reported. If in Canada, report the phone number to the CRTC.

Called tonight saying I had won a trip to Disney, worth over $3000. Supposedly I had entered a contest on the internet (but I didn't). They knew my postal address and date of birth. Told me I had to make my own way to FL, then was told the trip was not free, but 75% off. Wanted my credit card info to charge me $194 per adult. I asked what website I entered a contest on, got no answer. I asked the company name, and she said United, and that they represented the Disney Company.

I received similar calls from Jan. 18-20. The call from the 416 # did not have that V0 #....though. It did not have one of those.BUT other calls from other phone #'s did have although each was different. A phone # from 902 area code phoned twice. Same phone #. Then there was a 772 area code, as well as one from 321 area code. What's with that first number though, the VO or V0......? I thought maybe a phone card. Any thoughts?
