They are calling several times a day and nobody is ever on the other end.  I tried calling the number back and they claim to be the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but it's nothing but a recorded greeting.  They offer the option of having your number removed from their calling list, which is a complete joke.  I don't believe this is the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  Would love to know who the heck they really are and call a few of their leaders a few times a day so I can just hang up and they can see what it feels like.  Jerks.

It is illegal to call a business to solitcitate... always answer your telephone with good morning or good afternoon, and totally make them think the number they called is a BUSINESS not a private residence... the federal law PROHIBITS a solicitator from calling a business.  Do Not Call list just never matters to these callers.

I too am getting 3-4 calls/day from this number but my caller ID says "thankyoufrmlls"   I did get a call from the Lymph/Leuk society a few weeks back and turned down their request to mail out solicitations.

It's a scam they ask for donations then if you say no they really start calling more and more, totally illegal. Hanging-up on them or asking to be taken off the call list dosen.t work you must contact the attorney general of your state to file a report. When you answer and their is nobody there, they are using a phone dialing system that call 4-5 numbers at the some time, the firs tone to pick up is the one that they talk to, all the others get no contact from the offending company. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED DEAD IN THEIR TRACKS

They called wanting me to mail out information to my neighbors about donating for Leuk and Lymph.  I have no problem mailing the information out, it will cost less than $10 to mail out 16 letters to my neighbors.

Sick and tired of getting multiple phone calls every single day from this number.  Many calls are very early in the morning and late at night -- very disrespectful!!  I'm on the DO NOT CALL list, so why do they keep calling????

I didn't answer. They called 4/14/08, 4/15/08,4/16/08. They left no message and I didn't pick up.

I am also getting these calls several times a day. Not a peep from the other end. When I try to call it back, it doesn't connect to anything, just drops.  Is it legal to blow a whistle in their ear when they call? I think that is my next step.....

I, too, get these annoying calls just about daily.  I checked up on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  They spend over 18% of their revenue on fundraising expenses (is anybody here surprised?).  They also pay their CEO nearly $500,000 a year (as of 6/06).  I think I'm going to take their next call and let them know what I think of their financial practices.  I encourage you to do the same.

I have been noticing calls on my phone from the leuk and lymph society too and have not picked up the phone several times......now i am receiving out of area calls with the same number listed........what's crazy is I collected money for them about 1 year ago......$35.00.......i wonder if it was a scam?

Same experience as the rest of you.  They now call and sometimes leave static so that it shows up as an actual call.

I want them to stop calling. They call 3-4 times a day even on the weekend.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society does not even have a chapter in Yonkers, NY.  In fact, the actual organization is listed with the BBB and their real phone number is (800) 955-4572.  My guess is that this is a scam.  It's so frustrating!  My number is unlisted and I'm on the Do Not Call List.  And what's even more frustrating is that my own brother is a Lymphoma survivor, I know where to send my donations, and people who use methods like this are sick!  How do they sleep at night?
