I had this guy email me from Kijiji wanting to buy my SUV saying his name was Scott Douglas, saying how he'll send a certified cheque and he'll get someone to come pick up my car when the cheque cleared.

It was strange to me because he's from Ontario and my car is in Saskatchewan. and I just didn't trust the situation.

Same number, same a**hole. Difference is I'm in Alberta.

Hopefully the prick dies from Ebola soon and stops scamming.

The story is same in Abbotsford. This time his name is "Mr.Thomas Scott".
1st email:
My name is Mr.Thomas Scott, I am interested in buying this heavy truck ASAP, but I can only pay $14,800.00 flat. Does the truck have any engine problem or transmition problem? Well call me with this number 416-826-7141 if my offer is accept-ble or you can send me an email

2nd email:
Good day Sir

    How are you doing?  Hope great.  I will like to send you the payment ASAP by cheque.  As soon as you receive the cheque, go ahead and deposit the cheque in your account, and once the cheque clears call me to let me know that the cheque has cleared. Then I will come and get the truck for shipment, if my offer is accepted please let me know. Please I am not in town right now I will be back in 4 to 6 weeks time, tell me how to send you the payment cheque. I can`t call you right now I am very busy in my office when I have the time I will call you so that we can talk OK and I live in south west of Calgary, but right now I am in London Ontario

Had the same call from the same number. I allowed Scott Douglas to send cheque it was for $5000 more then the asking price. It was a company cheque and I called the company and found out the cheques were stollen and Scott was never an employee.

How does the scam work when he is claiming to send a check and will wait for it to clear before he sends his shipper to pick up the item?  I have a very similar email after trying to sell a forklift.  Same Ontario phone number was given, but he is claiming to be in Calgary?  Here is his email from "Doug Scott" <dscott_investors@yahoo.com>:
