Ouch!! As a longtime sponsor of PLAN Canada, I wonder if there are fewer people willing to give $1.25 a day to save a child in a third world country ravaged by poverty. I don't recall much phone-campaigning over the decades. Sorry for them if it has come to this, and if their intrusions into homes by telephone are distressing to us lucky folks who live here in relative comfort and safely. If they call gain, consider listening and enrolling. They are a well-respected charity, publish their financial status to us every year, and answer questions honestly and kindly. Your donations are also, of course, tax deductible, by the way. On a fixed income, I still manage to sponsor one child, and occasionally can support two for a year -- it is rewarding.

Yep, Plan Canada, should've checked this site before picking up. I gave them money last year. The lady was very nice, asked me how the weather was here in Vancouver and told me they had some sun there in.. Mississauga(?) today. The script they have to read is super long though.
My phone says the call lasted 11:13. After I said I wasn't financially able to sponsor a child at $38/month she offered a different $25/month option and following that asked if I could do a one-time $120 donation, each time explaining all the benefits to the communities in question. Rather than interrupt her I just surfed the net.
I question the charitableness of an organization that would rather pay someone to keep trying to bargain with people who clearly aren't interested vs moving onto the next person in the list.

It is Plan Canada (used to be Fosterparent Plan) - I had a child fifteen years ago, and they are still bothering me.

Plan Canada is who this number belongs to - I had a foster child through them over a year ago, probably just looking for re-enrollment.
