Hi Everyone,
The only thing you can do when you return their call is leave your number so that they can take you off the list within three days.  But they don't take you off their list!  None of the other numbers listed work at all and you cannot talk to anyone except for their media relations team.  At first I called Chris Atchison (see contact info below) and he advised me to call the president of Forum Research (also listed as the primary media contact, but not as the President himself) to have my number removed from their list.  I did.  It went to voice mail.  I'm going to keep calling and suggest this action to everyone else too.  Once again, the president's name is Lorne Bozinoff and his number is 416-960-9603.  Give him a call and ask to be taken off the list.  Also, maybe pass on some advice that a company specializing in its relationships with people should have a point of contact with that company.  Otherwise, your credibility in customer experience affairs is no more.  Hope this helps.

Called me today at 6:30pm Atlantic on my work Blackberry.  I did not answer.  I wish the Do Not Call list would screen these calls out.

Unless you happen to be in a newly-created area code there is no such thing as an new number.  Your new number is someone else's old number.  Your callers are looking for the person who had the number before you got it.  The previous owner may have given up the number to get rid of the pests who are now calling you.

I bought my cell 3 days ago - have not given the number to anyone and yet received calls after 1 day of having the cell. WIth Telus so I assume they must have passed the number onto a third party!

I have been getting calls from this number to my cell.  Not knowing who it is, I don't answer it.  The guy who said to hear them out and then request to be removed from their list should be aware of the fact that if a company calls a cell, and it costs the owner money or minutes, it is illegal!  Unless the owner has given them pervious permission to call cell.  SOLICITATION CANNOT COST THE CONSUMER!!  If the company continues to call it is considered harassment and the phone company will take action.  I have now reported this number 416-960-9600) to my cell phone provider.

I can vouch that Forum Research is a legit Market Research Company, retained by clients to conduct research studies or survey data on their behalf.  I seriously doubt the 'mystery shopper' aspect though - that one appears on the RCMP Top Scams website.  The company might do that, but check it out before giving too much personal info.

I did get calls from them from other numbers, and did request they stop calling - but I received a call just before 2pm today and no message was left.  And yes - this type of company is exempt on Canada's Do Not Contact Registry and seem to be compliant with regulations (identifying themselves when calling, etc.).  If they are calling outside 9am to 9pm, or are being a nuisance (i.e. multiple calls per day) then you can report them on the Registry for misconduct.

Just answer the phone and tell them that you are not interested in any surveys, if you get called a second time ask them to put you on their "do not call list". They will never call you again!! just in case the person calling you was lazy enough not to do that on the computer, next time if you get a call ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them that you want to be put on the DNC list and that would be the end of it. Market research companies have their own DNC lists as the National DNC registry does not apply to them, since they don't sell or solicit. Most survey companies are very cautious about their reputation, especially if you are speaking to an actual live person, no need to be worried about them stalking you as they do surveys only when commissioned by an organization, business or a political party, if you don't want to do it they move on to the next person.

You can block them with a call blocker:
-Uniden DECT 6.0 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
-Panasonic DECT 6.0/6.0 PLUS blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
You can pick one up at XS Cargo(most are refurbished) or you can try BEST BUY/FUTURE SHOP. Sometime they got "open box" items.
If you take the call, ask the name of the caller, mark down time  & date of the call. Then ask them not to call again or put you number into their "No Call List". If the caller call you again, you can file a complaint to :

This number just called my place of work and said they were commissioned by Canada Post to do a survey about receiving and delivering mail.  The results were to help Canada Post better their services.  They also asked if we would participate in a test program to send and receive letters to track delivery time.

They called me last week. I got the guy's first name "Christopher".  Then I told him to wait at office because I was dropping everything and was going to drive downtown to kill him - through slow torture, starting with the removal of his balls by exacto knife and sprinkling of salt on the wound.

It seems to have worked ...

This number recently started calling us 4-5 times per day.   There was another number associated with doing a survey for Canadore which we opted out of.  After we asked the first number to stop calling this one started the next day.  They never leave a message and when I do answer they hang up.  They call at all time from 8am to 10pm!

Got a call from them, and did not pick and they did not leave a voice message. I recently went to the CRTC website and gave my number so that they put me on the Do not call list. Says it will take about a month for it to work. I read on here that you cannot put these guys on the list, but it is annoying since I have 5 other numbers calling as well, whether it be for research, telemarketing, etc. Luckily my cell phone is not affected and I have apps that can block losers such as these guys. Maybe there will be a smart landline technology to block these bozos in the future.

I have a simple message for you Sean....f*** you.
I'm not just saying 'f*** you' to be rude (as you might think), but I have a visceral annoyance for ANYONE who demands that I am required (in your own words) "to hear us out and then do what were asking"
OMFG ..... the arrogance of you people.
And here's another F*** YOU to the company you work for based on your comment "If you don't answer were required to call back"....any company that REQUIRES you to be annoying by default makes you even that much more ANNOYING.

"If your really rude they might call you back for entertainment purposes."
Well, I'm pretty sure you know what I'm going to say to that, right?  F*** YOU.

I would suggest you change the 'requirements' to LEAVING A MESSAGE on the answering machine.  Maybe then, and I mean just maybe, if you call back again and I know from your earlier message why you are calling, I just MIGHT answer the phone.  But rest assured, if I did answer the phone, it would definately be only FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES only.

You moron.......

"Be patient and respectful and everyone can get what they want."  Oh I get it.  It's my responsibility to hear you out, to waste time listening to your drivel, simply because my phone number happened to be on your list.  So glad to have that explained.  Had my number not appeared on your list, I'd have no such duty, but given that somehow, because of a decision by someone else that had nothing to do with me, my number did end up on your list, now I simply must wait until you are done completing your speech.  Super.  I'm all yours, for however long you need ... simply because it's my duty.
