I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
This was a hang-up call, but from other responses above, it looks like yet another "binggoogleyahoo!" search engine scammer. These folks do not work for Google, Bing, or Yahoo, but they will act like they do. I put prank call because "scam call" or "telescammer" were not available choices.

"And the person I spoke to indicated that Google has nothing to do with these robo calls..." that person was 100% correct. Google has 0 reason to call me, you or anyone else to push their FREE services like google places, listings, local etc.. These call come from some 3rd party scumbags that bought a list with your number on it and are most likely scam artists waiting for you to give them info to steal your identity or just charge you to do a service that you could do yourself for free...either way don't waste you time. Google WILL NEVER CALL YOU unless you are an advertiser or possibly requested a call back from support or something other than that they will never call you cause they have no reason to at all. These scam artists use google's name to get people to lower their guards and do something stupid.

These people are calling several times a week and sometimes, several times a day. I've reported them to the FCC but I don't know what to do to get them to quit calling me and wasting my time.

I answered and said I was not interested. Then the guy said he was going to kick my a** and boot my google listing if I did not sign up for seo. What a jerk.

They act like they are doing something for your Google listings while they have no control over your listing. This is not a Google company. It is terrible that people buy their services and are scammed like this.

Another dimwit, nitwit, useless robo call.

I spoke to someone at Google regarding these calls of which I've received several. And the person I spoke to indicated that Google has nothing to do with these robo calls...
The person I spoke to said "Take it for what it is - some kind of telemarketing scam, and treat it accordingly"...
So there you have it y'all - treat it accordingly...
If you don't have Caller ID on your landline, get it. It's a very useful tool to have for purposes of screening these calls...
As always - if it's a number you don't recognize - don't answer it - period!

It's a Google recorded telemarketer. I just spoke to the loser operator named Kevin at 2:52pm 3/6/14. I explained to him "I am tired of receiving these recorded calls" (after I pressed option 1 for the operator). I explained to him, "Please stop bothering me with these calls. I've pressed option 2 many time to be on the do not call list." I also informed him that this will be reported to the FCC.
He then replied with "Sir I've heard every threat there is. The FCC can't stop us from calling you". I responded with a reality check "Maybe you should get a real job that doesn't involve you being a jack a**".

Robocall: Pretends to be a Google listing service. A callback only gets a message service and you cannot reach an agent.
