I got a some calls from these people a while ago and a few recently.  If I remember correctly they want to book you for some 'special offer' hotel/vacation thing.  I remember it sounded pretty good.. and not like a scam.. but of course I had no interest.  If your number isn't listed I'm not sure how they got it... maybe you stayed with them before or somewhere you gave info to online or in person sold it to them.

Started getting these calls last night, they hang up when they get answering machine.

We have an unlisted number.

T only clue I can offer is that I had to give out my number to shopnbc.com just before this began.

I'm a reporter and am investigating.

Called my business number and when told I was unavailable and asked to leave a message, got very huffy with receptionist and stated that if I was unavailable, it wouldn't do any good to leave a message.  I called back and appaprently this is some hotel I stayed at on business who has been bought by Windham, who are now trying to sell me a vacation package.

Received these calls everyday sometimes a couple times a day. I did not answer and they would not leave message. When I called back to have them remove my number from their list they were trying to sell vacations and pushy about it and of course I refused.

I recently gotten me a house phone and WYndham Vacation started calling around 8 times a day. They never leave a message and I refuse to answer the call. I would wish they would stop calling. What do I need to do to get them to stop from calling???

Got this call also, however looks like they had my Grandcentral.com number which filtered it out.  Check out Grandcentral.com.  It's pretty sweet. You can mark numbers as 'SPAM' and have it play the 'Out of service' message among other things. I give it to any online deal that needs a phone number, or anyone im unsure of.

I doubt they will be calling back.

You actually do more harm than any of us that simply hang up on them, you wasted that "nice girl's" time. They don't make any money talking sweet nothings with your husband. They make money selling vacations. So stop fooling yourself that playing nicey nice with telemarketers will "make their day."

Telemarketer
The Wyndham people called us this morning. I don't see why all you people say they are so pushy. My husband had talked to one of the sales women, and he actually joked around with her for a while, when they got to the point of asking us to buy one, he told them we couldn't afford it right now, and she was very polite. She said it was fine, and to have a great day.
If you people actually took the time to realize telemarketers are people who ARE just doing their jobs, you might try to be a little more polite next time. I'm a waitress and I get s*** from people all the time, so I know how it is... Next time actually try to talk or even joke around with these people and you might have a better day. I hope we made her day, because she was a very nice girl.

This guy from Wyndham just called and asked for me.  As I stood next to my wife he told her that I have stayed at thier San Diego location several times and why she was not with me?  This has really got me P@#$%D OFF.  When I try to call the number back (caller ID) I get no answer.  I still can't figure out how they got my home phone number and my name since I am unlisted

Got a call after 6 pm. The guy asked for a Brett and when I told him he got the wrong number he said, "Oh, its okay. Since I have you on line would you care to purchase a vacation package?" I said "no thank" three times and he kept going on. Finally, I said loudly and slow and clearly No Thank You and hung up.

I received a call today from them and the sales guy was very pushy. Told me if i didn't make a choice now about the discount i couldn't take advantage. I told him i take more vacations then he could imagine. once a month to be exact. Tried to give me a "deal" said he would take 50 off my package. I told him i would be interested if he would contact me at a better time (was at work) goes on to say i should take advantage now because he was "hookin me up" told him forget the whole thing because i'm in sales and don't like to be pressured. He then got smart so i had to hang up. If they call DO NOT PICK UP 4178772600

To the telemarketers that work for this company and are posting here that the DNC does expire, please forget what your company is teaching you and go to the source, the FTC or Federal Trade Commission. Here are the real facts about the DNC list:

Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm

Now stop calling me. By the way, I will never spend another night in any of your hotels, motels, or whatever. If that is how my name got on your list and it did, was at one this summer. Yours is the first telemarketers I have heard from in over 5 years. The the obvious cure is to never stay at one again. I will boycott any company that puts me on a call list. Also am talking to our corporate travel office and they are in agreement that this is an unacceptable practice and will take every effort to never use your services again,

So I am very PROUD that the corporation I work for, which just posted an operating income to $1,879,949,000.00, will no longer be using your services either.

Look I work for wyndham and I'm going to be very honest with you here.  Before we can work there they make us do a training class in which we learn that the DNC list DOES expire.

"Why don't you listen to these people and stop bothering them."....trust me you idiot, we don't want to call you but it's our job.

Maybe everyone should think back to when they were in college trying to make ends meet by working a s****y job.  Just because you don't know us doesn't mean you should treat us any differently then someone you see walking past you on the street everyday.   You're not big and bad because you can curse at someone over the phone.  Because trust me, hearing a little excitment is probably the highlight of our day.

I've gotten calls from this 417 number twice. Each time it was a few days after staying at a Super 8 motel. They don't call often. I just don't answer when they do.

I just had this number and Wyndham Vacation show up on my caller ID- no message left, so of course I googled it, and this is where I landed.  You all need to educate yourselves on the DNC registry.  At one time, your listing on there DID expire, and you had to relist it.  A new law went into effect February 2008 changing that, and now your listing does not expire.  I do not know how the new law affected pre-existing listed numbers, because I just went ahead and re-registered after I heard about the new law, so you should probably check your number at donotcall.gov

As far as Wyndham calling you, telemarketers CAN call you even if you are on the DNC list if you have given them permission to do so, and by giving your phone number to the hotel (previous contract or business dealing)that you stayed at (for us it was the Super 8) you are giving them permission.    This is when you have to tell them to take you off of their list, and they have to comply.  So you see, not answering or making them go deaf does not help you out in any way.

Now, employee, you're right- $109 for 3 nights at HoJo or Super 8 to only have to sit through a 2-hour hard sell is a steal just about anywhere, and I'd take it in a heartbeat, but as my name suggests, Wyndham would have to pay for the transportation, too. *sigh*
