Also got the message today around 1130am, "This is Security National Bank, your card has been deactivated, please call the security department at 418-615-3159 to reactivate your card, note (either) 418153159", or "1816153159", I couldn't catch what the message was saying. I have AT&T too. Look up the phone number and it's a definately a scam.

Got 2 calls this morning on my AT&T cell phone too. Card deactivation from Central National Bank of Enid. Called the actual bank in Enid, OK. Definitely a phishing scam

Just got the call from "Financial Center Credit Union" for the same number and reference number. I also have AT&T plus I got a text message. I don't do text messages. Now I will have to block them. Sure sounds like a scam.

Got a call about 40 mn ago on AT&T home phone. Supposed problems with (nonexistent) card at Financial Center Credit Union.
| Mitch 2011-06-06 20:49:05 Unknown |
Has someone called AT&T about this? If they are sending text msg then ultimately the recipient is incurring charges by either paying for the msg becuase they dont have a txt plan or it takes away from the available txt msg's.

I got one late last week as well. I have Verizon so this is not AT&T related. I did not receive a text message but the voicemail was pretty much exactly as you said. It says the mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages at this time when you call them back. Annoying. I was heading out for a trip and certainly didn't need problems with my card.

My husband and I both received a similar call within 5 minutes of each other on our cell phones. It came through on mine from "690" and his from "695". They were both automated messages saying they were from "Financial Center Federal Credit Union Security Dept." It left this number (418-615-3159) instructing us to call and reactiviate our suspended cards. I called the number just to see what it would say and over and over it kept saying "to reactivate your card press 1"....obviously I didn't, I just hung up. I'm a Verizon user in the Indy area as well. ARGH! How on earth did they get both of our numbers? Scary!

I received three phone calls from this 418-615-3159. I have the same story the rest of you do. I put in #7 sixteen times when they asked for the card #, the same for the expiration and pin number. By the end of the call my card had been activated. Im so thankful I found this site!
| J 2008-08-01 20:00:40 Unknown |
I'm in Indianapolis too, but hadn't heard that information on Channel 6. Thanks for the information. Now, how do we get them to stop calling?

btw...I am from the Indianapolis area as well. I just spoke with AT&T and they stated that they are aware of a new text scam going around, but this was news to them. They took all the information and are looking into it...uh-huh.

OK, I placed a comment on here this morning, and have just received my third call from these morons. This morning I actually answered the call, and the two other calls I let go to voicemail. I have the message saved for whatever it may be worth...The first call stated Finance Center Federal Credit Union. The second stated Central National Bank of ~~ (it was unintelligible). The most recent one was the same as the first. I hope this is resolved soon.

After doing a reverse listing search the number is a cell phone out of CHICOUTIMI, Quebec with no other information listed.

Same call as everyone else. I called back in an attempt to find out more info., because my wife lost her purse recently. When I got the voicemail, there were two distinctive voices, one sounded distinctly foreign. I attempted to reach an operator by pressing "O" several times. It initially just repeated the prompt to enter my card number and then again my PIN. Eventually, it took it and stated that my card had been re-instated.

Had the same thing that I have been reading here. The first was 9:38 am. Did not have any paper but remembered it was a 418 area code (Quebec as someone mentioned) and the name of the bank was "Finance Center Credit Union". I googled and came up with a Finance Center Federal Credit Union, which I called and was told that I was not the first to call regarding this and it is a scam.
At 1:01 and 1:07 I got two more unknown calls which left messages (same digital female voice) asking me to call the Central National Bank of Enid. Same as others here have reported.
I am a new (since July) ATT cell customer.
Hope this helps.

Ralph, my husband and I both got the same call on our AT&T wireless cell phones around 1130am, 8-1-08, except it was for Security National Bank and we too live in Garfield County. I went to my mother's house for lunch and she was already on the phone with Central National Bank, because she does bank with them and she too got a call from them on her prepaid wireless phone, which nobody has her number. The only thing I can think of is AT&T must have got hacked or something, because it only seems to be effectiving AT&T wireless users (when checking my mother's number, it is a number under AT&T's database).

I have received 3 calls so far, to the same phone. I hope the scam is terminated soon. I don't respond but it is annoying.

Got a call from this scammer on my AT&T Wireless cell phone at 11:58am today (8/1/08). Caller ID showed "Blocked Caller". The recording said they represented MY ACTUAL BANK (Central National Bank of Enid), and like others above, said my "card" had been de-activated. So obviously, these Phishermen were connecting the cell phone number with the location it's based in, and using local bank's names in shot-in-the-dark attempts to make it more realistic... increasing the probability of gullible folks calling the 418-615-3159 number and being taken.

Got the same call. I called the number and the mechanical voice instructed me to enter my 16 digit card number. I put in 16 9's. When it asked for my 4 digit pin I entered 9999. After a short pause it told me my card was activiated. Hope no-one is dumb enough to fall for this.
