The same thing happened to me with another company... Now I am getting text messages from this (240) 415-8553 says his name is Mr. Gilbert... I am so sick of the scams... Again, as you did I applied for a job on Craigslist.   We are people working hard to find employment and to hold on to what little we had and these jerks are trying to run a scam... It seems like something should or could be done about this.  Anyway, they will not get me again... I am still trying to straighten out with my bank the effects of first scammer.  I also deposited the check and waited the entire waiting period Bank of America allows for it to clear, spoke with the Teller and all they told me the check was good.... days later over drafted account :-(   - Anyway be careful people.

I applied for a job on craigslist on 4/21 and on 4/24 I get a text message from 240-415-8553 about needing to get online to yahoo messenger for an online interview as well saying she was Mrs. Williams,
We do the "interview", I get the job and she tells me she is sending a check so that I can transfer it to the vendor so I can get my office supplies. I deposit the check like a dummy but waited two days until the money gram was sent to see if the money would even post. It did so I thought I was ok, the following Monday my account was in overdraft from the returned check and Lora Williams of the name she told me was texting me about depositing another check. I let her know about the other check and I havent heard from them sense. I was desperately looking for a job bc my current job is going out of business, but even if you are dont not be stupid like me, Thank God my bank is working with me on this. If interviewmanager78@yahoo.com emails you or 240-415-8553 texts you about an interview do not reply!!!! Learn from me!!!

.This is a scam alert! I have posted this elswhere on this board as well, based on the relevant searches from the information she gave me. This exact same scam is also happening with a 303 area code and with different company names and contact people, but in all cases, they send you a check to purchase equipment to start your office to do their work, you keep some of it and wire the rest to their buddies or 'merchants', and you get stuck when the fake check bounces. They didn't get anywhere close to getting that far with me, but I am looking for a job so my email and phone # are out there. I internet search EVERYTHING. Mine was a text message from 420-415-8553....this is a cell # out of Maryland, and I live in Colorado...

Williams: "Hello ******, I am Mrs. Williams...."

...several minutes go by, no more messege (during this time I check the phone number here, it comes up with no reports)
I text back: "Hello Mrs. Williams. What can I do for you?"
Williams: "The Head of Dept has just reviewed you resume and you have been selected for an online interview with me."

....I think "what company?...why through text messeging?"....so....I text her again...

Me: "Head of what Department? What company? Can you be a little more specific, a little less evasive?"
Williams: "The name of the company is First Solar. We deal with solar energy."

....well....ok...google First Solar...they are a real company located out of AZ...so I text her again...
Me: "Home office located in AZ?"
Williams: "Yes this an online job. Work from home. "
Williams: "You are needed to come online ASAP on Yahoo messenger and add me up {interviewmanager78@yahoo.com} for more job briefing and interview."

.....hmmmm...right now?...why didn't you just contact me through the email on my resume or just phone me?... Yahoo?....online interview?....getting stranger and stranger...why not through their First Solar website?...so I googled the email she wanted me to reach her at...voila!... "HER SHE IS!...scammer.

I texted her one more time: "I googled the email you just gave me, and you pop up on fraudwatch.com and 800notes.com."
I haven't heard back from her/them. I will copy this and file a new complaint here under the above phone #.
