I was called by 'Josh from Publishers.com"  to let me know that I won a $250 Walmart gift card,because I recently signed up for a visa or mastercard. Which I didn't! The guy went on to try to make it sound as if it was no strings attached but when I asked if it was in fact no strings attached, he went on to explain that there was in fact a catch. He told me his whole shpeel on how I'd have to pay $3.85 a week for some random magazine subscriptions..I declined and the phone call pretty much ended there. I'm pretty upset because he called my cell, and I do not give it out! >_< Ugh I also muliplied $3.85x 52 and it ended up being about $200...so I'd end up with a $50 gift card....WOOPDYFREAKINDOO!

I got a call from 423-272-1930 the left a voice mail saying I won a $1000 spopping spree and call her back at 423-272-0458 and ask for Heather. I called them back but it always just rings. thought that was fishy that a company like that didn't have a machine. I also got a call a few months ago from someone (I think it's the same people) saying that a credit card company entered me in a drawing for a $1000 seepstakes (I don't even have a credit card) and that just for participating I would get a free watch they also wanted me to sudscribe to a magizine, I said no about the magizine. she said ok you're still entered anyway. I naver got any watch. I've also got a call from 423-272-9183 and didn't leave a message. I wish they would stop!!!

The "Good News" I have won a $1000.00 shopping Spree !!! The bad news... as I was not available to receive the good news, I should immediately call  back with my banking information to make the funds available or they would go to some other "Lucky" person

Confirm the other two posts.  Lucky me, too bad I wasn't there to answer the call.  Interestingly the number they gave me to call back was an 877 number, one that I was not able to get any information on.  Thanks for the posts and alerting me to this scam.

I have got the same call. someone name chad and kim called me telling me i won a shopping spree.then the next day i go another call and they left a message and called me some else name, that not even my name.

Same exact thing here. I listened to it on my machine also. bad news is I dont care and good news I AM SMOKIN' AGAIN, 420

Add another to the list - got the same "You won $1000 shopping spree."  Thankfully, to sites like this, I was able to google this one and be saved from the scam.  Figured as much.

They called me once, didn't leave a message, called again a few minutes later, I picked it up, they didn't say anything and then hung up.

they called me on my house phone. i look at the caller id.  it looks like another telemarketing again.  so i decided to let the machine answer it.

THE MESSAGE SAYS......

"hello mam, this is LUANDA with mountain area.  i got some good news and i got some bad news for you.  the good news is you been selected to received our gift certificate which is for $1,000 online shopping for free.  so congratulation and the bad news is i didn't get to talk to you about it.  so would you please give me call back on my direct line at area code 423-272-0458 or gives a our.  my toll free number 877-875-2099 again my name is MALYNDA so i can get that out to verify to you.  your claim number is U716 and again congratulations you have a great day.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID ON MY MESSAGE.

SO THE GOOD NEWS IS I DIDN'T CARE AND THE BAD NEWS IS I'M SMOKING AGAIN.

they called me as well and were so very over excited.  said i won 100 online shopping spree and my claim number is c720.  They asked me to call back at 423-272-0458.  Never called back.

they called me too. its bs.

I also got a voicemail that said I won $1000 shopping spree. I never called back because I googled the info first.

They left a voicemail on my cell phone saying I won a $500 shopping spree. She said her name is Lauren from Publisher Services. The number was 423-272-0458. I returned the call and someone answered, "Publishing Company," and said Lauren would call me back.  She then called me from 423-272-0459. Stupidly, I answered some of their questions, like if I was married. When they asked me what I did for work, I said "unemployed". When they asked me about my husband, I said "in school". She quickly got off the phone. Disconcerted, I called the last number and asked, "What company is this?" They answered "Mountain Air". I asked them how they got my information, and they asked me if I filled out an online questionnaire. Apparently, that is how they got my info. (although "Lauren" said she got her info from a credit or debit card service). SKETCHY! I never filled out my bank or credit card info online, so hopefully they don't have it!!! Seriously concerned. SCAM ARTISTS!
