I got this call several times and when I told them that the person they are looking for is dead, they asked if I was using her information and told me they were going to send out and officer.  I told them to hurry up and do so, as of most of the roads in Northern MN are not open right now.. SCAM

It is a scam.  Debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, so there are no criminal charges ever.  On the other hand, if someone is going to sue you in criminal court, the papers will show up unannounced --- no one ever gives you a heads up before serving you

Is this legit? Definitely sounds like a scam. Gives me no information other than they are filing charges. Does anyone have any insight on this?

FWIW, this number is administered by bandwidth.com, which supplies services for Google Voice, Skype, and Pinger (a free text and talk application).

This fact alone does not allow on to conclude that the calls are definitely bogus.  But neither does it add anything to the credibility of calls originating from this number.  And the calls reported here sound like they are hold up attempts committed by someone with a phone rather than with a gun.

same call same message.  wishing me good luck with what is about to come upon me, if I or my attorney of record does not respond.  No deadline date to call back given, or why they were calling.

I got a call from this number. I told them I'm standing outside of my house waiting for the police. I also contacted the FBI telling them about this. And they said its a number of college students from India looking to score money

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

GOT A CALL FROM 423-742-7554 two days in a row. This is a SCAM. They continue to call me on my work number. I asked them to stop, but to no avail. My employer asked me to record the phones and conversations so that they can report it to the local law enforcement.  The guy who called me didn't believe me. I bet he will believe me now.

Same call and same number. Confused how they got my information. Para legal supposedly ... English was terrible. I don't understand what their underlying intention was because I played along as if I was going to pay for it and he just said your going to have hire a lawyer.

Same message as others, but it was supposedly "Jason Walker". Called back, which I probably shouldn't have, and they told me to stay by my phone and an officer would call me. They claimed to be Caldwell (or Calbwell) Office but answered the phone as "Law Firm". Also called and left a message on my work phone. Anyone know how to get rid of these jerks?

I got the same call.  The caller had my social security number and address,  Total scam.

I just returned a call to this number and the person answered yes, how can I help you??? I said you tell me you called me??? He then said "this is an atorneys office and you will be arrested!" I asked what is my name and who are you going to arrest??? He started screaming "there are people that are lying to you....you will be arrested!!" I told him I knew it was a scam and had already reported him to the FBI. He started screaming again and hung up!! It was really crazy! I would say its a total scam!

So, is this something new?  I see all the previous comments are all recently timed and dated.  I received the exact same message.  I called back and could barely understand anything the person said.  He read off all kinds of weird charges or whatever it is against me.  Saying it was U.S. Financial Institute and I took a loan out with them and they are saying I stole the money.  I have never heard of any of this.  All new to me.  I hung up on him.  He immediately called back and left a message saying you just wait until 11 AM tomorrow.  You will be sorry.

Is there a place where I can call and report these people? BBB or state attorney?  All  they want is personal information about me.

This number called me 3 times in a row on my cell phone and then 4 times at work. The guy could barely speak English in the voicemail he left and told me he had a lawsuit against me and if I didnt call him back immediatly he couldnt help me. The phone number came up as "wireless number" on my caller ID. I called the number back and someone answered "Law Firm". Because that sounds really legit!

They did the same.  I called them out for it being a scam.  They said they would send an officer out to my house with a subpoena and hung up on me.  Norhing came.  If they call again I am going to call law enforcement.

I Just received a phone call from them also, they said they was going to charge me with three cases of fraud , but they couldn't tell me what attorney office they was with .  They call themselves Calbwell Attorney Office. Does this sound familiar.

Caller keeps saying that a lawsuit pending against me but when asked, he never says who is filing the lawsuit, who the law firm is, nothing.
