I wanted the magz so i went for it. I'll post in a few days if I get them or this "shopping spree."

I got a call from a southern man saying that I had won a $1000 shopping spree and magazine subscriptions but I had to pay $4 a month for
Them. They had my address, my name, and my types of debit cards. I hung up.

Keeps calling I won a thousand dollar shoppig spree and free magazine subscriptions. It needs to stop! i get these calss multiple times a week....

Got a call from this number about winning a $1000 shopping spree.  I told them no immediately and before he could say anything else I hung.  I haven't entered any contests so I knew it was a lie.

I received a call yesterday and felt the same way, it seemed legit if you feel like purchasing magazines, which I did. Did you ever receive the magazines or is this a total scam? If so, what should I do?

This same thing happpened to me. They told me the first digit of my bank card and when I asked how they got it the man said from my card holder. He went on to ask for the rest of my bank card number and ofcourse I hung up.

I just got a call and foolishly didnt look up what was going on and they just took my money out... now that i see what others have gone thru, is there anyon who got there money back??

I just got a call from this number but didn't pick up.  I NEVER pick up if I don't recognize the number these days.  A message was left, automated, congratulating Louis or whomever for winning a shopping spree.  Okay!

I just got a call and finally answered after they have been stalking my for 2 weeks saying basically the same thing - $1000 shopping spree online and 60 months of magazines - all I'd have to pay is for the maintenance on the magazines. They said my number came up because I used my  visa online. Then I was transferred and they asked how I wanted to pay (visa, check, ect) when I said I didnt want the magazines, they hung up.

I received this call as well, I went along until she wanted to know where to send my subscriptions and when I asked if I had to accept the magazines to win she no and hung up.

Well this number called my boyfriend's phone asking for me. This was odd because I never gave out his number to anyone other than employers for filling out applications. The lady said her name was Amanda-so my boyfriend texted me her number and I keep calling and it just keeps ringing. It is so weird that they would know I was his girlfriend. It is very weird.

I just got a call today, a series of 3 calls actually from this number. and they all explained to me the whole process like 3 times. i didn't believe them at all but it was starting to sound convincing... they all told me that i need to subscribe to 4 different magazines for $29.90, which i will be paying for 20 months.. and i calculated that, that just adds up to $598... not quite $1000. then the third lady had me answer some questions like how many magazines i'll be subscribing to, for how long, and for how much. so it didnt seem like a scam to me... but thats true, they said i had good credit.. im not sure if i do! haha. and they asked for my credit card. i asked them if there was another way to make the payment, possibly electronically (with proof) but they said they just want to verify my card and that im not making any payment today----that if i am, they would need my CID number (the last 3 digits on the back). Is that true? Or is this all really just a scam? Because I really did give them my card :/ thing is, its not my credit card though. its just my checking card and there's not much in there anyway!

They called me too.  I asked for another number to verify that it was indeed a real business because I didn't want to give my credit card number over the phone.  I called the number they gave me and asked to the girl I had just talked to, the man said it was a wrong number.   Too bad it was a scam, I really wanted that shopping spree!

Got a call telling me I won a $1000 online shopping spree.  Then they tell me that I have to pay $49.90 for 20 months to receive magazines for 60 months.  This equals $999.80..so that $1000 shopping spree is actually being paid for by YOU!  Don't fall for it.

the woman called said i won $1000 online shopping spree and asked if i had a visa check card i told her i did and then asked her when i entered a contest. she stumbled on her words for a moment and said that really i didn;t this is a publishers contest and i was selected by my good credit (yeah right) i told her i wasn;t interested and hung up on her.  PLEASE no one fall for these calls usually when something sounds to good to be true it is.

Message from some excited woman about how I had won a $1000 shopping spree online and that i had a previous account that they were aware of.  I told them that I was interested in what they had to say, and when they got through their spiel, they asked me for my credit card number and i did not give it to them... This is a huge SCAM!.. Do not fall for it!.. Be an outright jack a** to the people too so they realize their folly.. Okay maybe that's extreme, regardless just dont do it..

I got the same call from the same phone number.Could you tell me is you started receiving magazines that you did not order and a not being charged for sometime prior to the phone calls.

This number called me and left a message saying I'd won a shopping spree. I called them back even though I had figured it was probably too good to be true. Sure enough, after giving me details about my "spree" and "free magazines" Jenna the phone operator transferred me to someoneone else. This next clerk wanted me to give her my bank information. She got very rude when I told her I didn't have any information on me (I did, but she didn't need to know). She told me EVERYONE else she talked to could find something. She argued with me for a while and even told me that she had all day to wait if I wanted to put her on hold while I found a statement. Needless to say, I hung up.

Got a call saying i WON A $1000 shopping spree online. Then the dude hung up. Sucks...not sure what else the scam involves but I have no long distance to call the number back. Wish there was a website or something to get in touch with someone about this.

Tara from "the publisher service" just called me saying that I had won a $1000 shopping spree online. She said that I would recieve free magazine subscriptions and asked me if I wanted to recieve them.  She asked if I had the same credit account as before and I sort of dodged the question because it was sounding shady.  Then when I said I don't want the subscriptions she said I needed to have them to get the shopping spree and hung up the phone. I am going to call the BBB if they charge me and my card's customer service because I did not authorize any charges.

I received the $500 shopping spree as well.  They did have correct billing address, but I knew it was amiss because the card associated with the last subscription I had has been closed for over a year.  This scam is to pay $16/month (or $12 if you choose to accept less magazines). Good thing I was at the computer at the time the call came thru!  Because they could not tell me which magazines I used to have or the which account it was charged, I declined!  You should too!

I called the number back and got something about a shopping spree, the women said that all of her employeers were at work and asked if i wanted to have them call me back because i 'supposedly' won a $500 shopping spree.  yeah, right.  i told her to call me back cuz she sounded hot.

So I checked with the white pages, because I thought it was the same # calling me but in fact there are four differ #'s calling me.  There's this one then 423-272-9783, 423-921-3687 and 423-272-9071.  Apparently they are all from Rogersville, TN.  If you go to the white pages you'll find out some of their names and addresses.  Hope this helps, somewhat.

I have got 2 calls from this number, just a busy signal when I try to return it.

It must be another automated thing.  I've gotten call and hang up, and nothing when I try to call it back.
