Got a text message from 424-248-5274 asking if my kijiji ITEM was still avalable. I noticed the weird area code. I said yes. and started googling. This number did not come up on any searches. And then of course I got a text that they are offering me 100 + 150 for shipping (for a $45 dress!!!). Idiot. I said - "it will be cheaper for you to buy it directly online from the store. You don't make any sense." He stopped replying. Get a job!

I replied to the SMS via e-mail:

Yes the piano is still on sale. Price is $450"

To what i got a very long reply, with what you guys probably already memorized. How he gonna pay only throughout paypal, beause he is too busy and his personal courier will pick up. Send him details of paypal to get the payment right away.

I'm sorry to all misters Dicks, but this name stopped me from sending him the info. Not just the name, but the name was the main reason I read the SMS few times. I sent him an email. But when he said: "i have gone through your advertisement and i'm satisfied with it"

I was 100% it's a scam. The picture is not good enough to be sure if you are satisfied or not.
After this, I went to google and typed his name and got to this page.
Thank you guys for sharing. And good luck to others not to get scammed by this kind of buyers.

Telling me that the 500$ has been deducted from his account and in order to received the funds I have tonpay shipping 300$ to the USA. The item was 200$ + 300$ shipping.

I told him that I cancelled everything cause I dont trust. Sent me back a couple of msg and then he stopped.

Just received the Dickson Martin text from the number 1-562-661-664. If you receive this IT IS A SCAM!!! Never let anyone have access to your paypal account. It's too bad this creep has the ability to go about doing this. I even emailed him. How easily we can be scammed. Shame on you Dickson Martin!!!

I received a phone call from this 424-256-3686 today Indian guys saying that he is with Microsoft Windows Techinical Dept. and my computer has extracted some files and they want to help me fix it etc.. Yes, it's a scam. My husband posted an ad on kijiji and received a weird email. Did some research on the email address and found a list of complaints.

i got the exact same thing. looking to buy a dining set from 1500 kms away sight unseen and to send 300$ to his courier so i would have my 400$ plus the 300$ for shipping released to my Paypal account. there were even fake emails created to look like they were from Paypal. Paypal advised me no such emails were sent by them. one i asked questions,i never heard a peep from him/her again

I got a text from the same person yesterday. I emailed him back at theo same email address and he sent the same response for my 22 inch rims and sure enough the content of his mailing was word for word carbon copy identical.  Like a form letter. But a different phone number. The number he texted from is 17205235428 I smelled a scam from the start hooch thing I'm so paranoid.

Yes this Dickson martins person on KIJIJI is a SCAM, I was selling a few wedding items, a dress, and there saying that they will buy the item, like without even looking at it? and ready to pay me $1300?? sounds quite strange if u ask me! and only wants to pay via pay pal, because of his/her BUSY work schedule! The scam is he/she try to let us believe that he sent the money + shipping (ex: 300$) so you do the payment directly to the Delivery company..

So he send fake paypal mail to advertise the payment is on his way.. and wait to get the shipping money from your own money.

So ex:

Tire+Rims.. 400$.. shipping cost 300$... sent FAKE 700$ and ask for the 300$ with another/real name.. so you never sell the items and he/she gets 300$...

Before do anything always looks your paypal account, and not simply verify a mail. Couple of months now that he/she use the same email and name..

scam trying to get me to hand over a wedding dress i have for sale, and to not to call or text back. wants me to email in order to get my information.

Assuming it is a place that buys and sells wedding dresses, as many have complained of the same caller (always wedding dress questions).

called back. goes to voicemail saying that the "extension" is not available.
