THEY DID THE SAME TO ME THING TO ME TEXT SENT A CHECK BUT IT WAS PICKED UP IN KENTUCKY /HELD THEY RESPONDED TO MY TEXT FOR A WEEK WHILE I WAS WAITING I TURNED DOWN PLENY OF BUYERS WHO HAD THE MONEY

Yea, same as the rest.  Had an item for sale on Craigslist and received check for way more.  They haven't given me instructions yet but I know it's a scam.  Was supposed to be Bank of America check but it's PNC Bank in Ohio but was sent from Lubbock TX so....go figure!  Too bad these dudes can't be caught because there ARE some gullible people out there that fall for it, I'm sure.  BEWARE!  ;-)

just decided to check out this number online to find this page....all the above comments compare to the via text information I received...SCAMMERS ARE OUT THERE AND DONT CARE WHO THEY HIT....PLEASE BEWARE !!!!

This person responded to craigslist add wanting to send a check when asking for information about this person he said his name was mike John from Georgia but the number is from california also said that the check would be from bank of america this matches the other stories of those whom this person has either scammed or attempted to ...SELLERS BE WARE

Just tryed contacting me via text, I looked the number up because he was asking questions already listed online, and I found this page! Thanks again and just a heads up this guy is still out there!

Same here. Texted asking to buy my item on craigslist. Then said would have someone pick it up. I contemplated using Paypal But seemed sketchy all in all. Especially after ready this page.

Texted about a car for sale, they're getting bolder now using texting. Reported the number to the FBI.

This number text wanting to by a car from me.  They sent double the amout I ask for and wanted me to send the extra western union for the "shipper fee".  The bank they used is Wells Fargo so I called them to verify and it is a fake.  The "company" the check came from ended up being a cancer fund raiser.  The address was a to a six bedroom house for sale. When I call the number the text came from I always get a weird answering machine.  It is a scam!

I have received the same text.  Wants to send a check for double the amount to pay the shipper.  I mentioned the phone number texting me has been reported as a scammer and have not received a response since.
