Same as the others, it is a Craigslist scammer.

Still using it as of 9/9

I make it a habit to google numbers when I post things for sale on Craigslist. This guy just texted me this:


Loft bunk bed with dresser and desk - $350, interested for the said price is it still available please text me back asap. Jeffery


Sure glad I googled this number

got a text from this guy too said he was sending cashiers check to my house but i'm going to return send it, realized to late it was a scam

I also was contacted today regarding a bike I have for sale on Craigslist San Diego.
The unnamed scammer texted me: (Note: In the transcript below, the type-o's are his. It is copied verbatim)

Scammer: 'hope is still for sale? [& he mentioned the title of the ad]

Me: Yes, it is still available.

Scammer: I am willing to add an extra $50 to the asking price if you can secure the purchase as am really interested in buying and I will be paying you via a certified check Which will clear fully before pick up is done. If that's is fine.provide me with your name and mailing address to send the payment to you hopefully tomorrow morning without any further delay

Me: Where are you located? And can you do a money order instead?

That was at 4:01 PM PST today and I have not yet received a response.

Same Craigslist scam here too.

My sister had the same thing had tonight. She gave them her name and address, and I looked up this number and it's listed in India! Wanted to send her a moneygram, sight unseen and that the mover would come after the check had cleared. So now they have some of her info, hopefully, nothing will come of this. I told her to never give out her name or address. Who knows how this person would or could tap into any of her personal accts or anything? She is an old lady who doesn't know any better, bless her heart. SCAM!! Not that they would get anything, can't get blood out a turnip. the jokes on them...

This the right same message I got. Is there a way to catch this awful people?

I got the same text message on March 28th,2013 at 5:50pm from area code(424) 256-3898 for big ticket item posted on craigslist.Wants to buy item by mailing a personal check,after it clears my bank will send mover to pick up  the item,sight unseen .This person is asking me to provide my personal information : Name and mailing address to send payment by tomorrow if I agree.Wants a text message reply a.s.a.p.Same SCAM!!!! no name or questions about the item.

Craigslist scam.. same, wanted to pay with check. Refused paypal

have something listed on c.l., got a message fom this # as well. same m.o. wanted to send me a chk then he was gonna send a driver to p/u item  bla bla bla

replied to an add on craiglslist to buy a big ticket item from me site unseen with a check he would mail to me and days later have a driver pick up the item. said drivers fee was included in the moneyhas was sending and wanted me to wire him the change. SCAM!!!!!! no name. just the #
