I got text from this number too and I thought it was a joke from a guy who is mad at me( my friend it's personal) anyhow same here that number ask me if I need insurance but didn't ask what kind, so I reply not now and I called the number... No answer so I texted, why can't u answer? He said sorry I miss your call so thinking its my friend i say "go j*** off" he says... Go eat your self... I'm like???? What company are you from?again I think it's my friend so I say, ok are you trying to secure my p**sy or put a price on it... He says. I got u a n39... Idk what that is so i reply "dead insurance " then I quickly googled n39 = notice to appear in court.  So I said where do u want me to appear? Then he asked if I live at " my current address" then since I freaked out, he started to call private...4 times then he said answer the phone bi***... So I told him, maybe? My phone has been hacked by this person I think. I'm not recognized by my phone company login, they have my yahoo email, password. My icloud acct is block and on the location frequent I can't turn off the location device. Even my amp store was erase and the camara on my phone! I was able to get the camara back thru Facebook, and last but not least... My phone snaps a light like if its taking a picture of me.so I've come to the conclusion that I'm being followed, watched, and even my maps automatically shows my location and I texted the person and left a voicemail saying... What do u want and who the f*** are you... I found this web site by entering all thoses web sites that are on my phone web data, and as soon as I type in their number at tp2location.com to find their location, I got a text from him blocking my # he texted 1(424)261-6492:print phone service: this then another text says the phone # & sprint phone service has blocked your number: sprint phone service.i know everyone is wondering why I haven't  well that doesn't help me cause he knows more about me like where I work, live, contact info, my pics , and Facebook, and my yahoo email. This guy is no joke. A real hacker and I'm gonna find this mother f****r some how. He messed with the wrong bi***. I think he also got in my car because I found a wrench in the back seat I've never seen in my life! I want to see his face. Rudely sent many text messages trying to sell me car insurance. One message said they hoped I would crash and die.

Okay get this:  I am using a "temporary" cell phone while my Android is being repaired. My regular cell # is also temporarily disconnected and NOT forwarded to this temp "throw away"phone with an out of area - area code. So only a handful of people have this # ....I've had it maybe a week.and a half.  ANYWAY,  Just 2 days ago I shopped auto insurance quotes online....for 1  of the 2 companies I submitted my info, I only gave my phone # to 1 of them. --  just yesterday (after receiving a decent quote, I decided to go with this company, bought the policy over the phone end of story.....until today! I am on this site because I received a text today while at work from a number I did not recognize: (424) 261-6492. The text read exactly (no caps) "hi holly!"
Since I didn't recognize it, I ignored it and figured I'd investigate after work. This is where I landed.  No biggie thus far, but an odd text if it is from an insurance company.  It appears to me - the sender of the text is awaiting a "who's this" reply....instead, I replied "wrong number". We'll see what happens, I will keep you all posted of any info.

Are you guys from California? I've got the same thing happening to me right now. I called the number and I at least tricked her into telling me she worked for Mercury Auto Insurance. It's an Inglewood, CA area code, but I think it's her cell phone because she just answered with "hello" ...nothing professional. I called Mercury and reported it. Hopefully they will find her and she'll get fired. So ridiculous.

they are from an insurance company that texts your phone number to sell you insurance.  when you tell them not to contact you, they are rude and belittling.  When i asked for privacy this is how they replied to me (via text) "how ridicoulous! privacy? am i going thru your phone or what? do you even know what privacy means? people like you make me laugh" and yes, they spelled ridiculous incorrectly.
