YI recieved numerous calls stating that they were trying to collect x amount of money for some magazines i ordered in the past i remember ordering some magszines over the phone while i was temporaly staying with my daughter months has passed an i never recieved one magazine. of what i suppose to had orered to the gentleman that called me was very adament on telling me that i was going to pay one or another and that i owed all this money for magazines that i never ever recieved i kinda got a little upset about how he strongly said that he was going to get the money any way they can from me til now i dont understand why he demanded money for something i have not recieved if i would have known it was a call from pch i would have gladly gave him my credit card info for the magazines.

i had the same experience as YankeeBrit.

lady claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing house. said i was eligible to win some sort of prize, and needed information from me in order to verify i was the one.  the whole tone seemed suspicious, so i just hung up. then i checked here and found that i was not the only one to be contacted.

Someone from this number called and said that I had won a gas card. When I told them I didnt want it they insisted that I give them my address so they could send it to me. I told the operator that SHE could have my gas card , she said it was against policy, I told her to give someone else two of them and she said it wasnt allowed. I asked her to remove my number from the list. She said until I accepted my gas card I would continue to be called. I told her I wouldnt need it because I ride a mule to work and unless she had some hay, i couldnt use a gas card. Needeless to say, she was relentless to get my address so I hung up. They call me at least 3 times a day.

These people called me on my cell phone and told me they were with Publishers Sweepstakes, that my credit card company had entered me in a drawing and that I had won a prize.  Then they said I was eligible to win a prize (they really need to organize their lies better). When I asked specifically which credit card company did this, she didn't know. Then she said I was a valued customer to the phantom credit card company. A few sentences later she said I was a good customer for the magazines I subscribe to.  I said I don't subscribe to any magazines.  I told her this whole thing seemed very odd and didn't make sense.  She asked me to verify my home address, which I wouldn't do.  Again, I told her this seemed very odd to me.  She put me on the phone with her "supervisor" who was practically yelling at me as to why I thought this seemed odd and "didn't I want to get my prize?"  I told her the whole thing smelled and I wasn't interested and she hung up.  If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is too good to be true

this number will call me 4 times a day its very annoying i answered and they asked for my husband i said he wasnt home they kept asking for another head of house hold i just acted like a kid nd said no..........they still call and when they do it shows up saying "california call"

i just got a call from this number, when the supervisor called back, i immediately told her that i do not have a credit card and that i had some concerns, when told that i did not have a credit card she aplogized for calling and said that she would leave my name in the drawing.

Honest Indian, I received the same exact call, from the same exact number, with the same exact information.  However, shortly after my initial received call the supervisor lady called and said she wanted to verify my name and address and that I understood the terms and stipulations, which she explained, but that I had also won a $300 gas card along with the free 5 magazines.  Sounded great, I agreed until she asked for my credit/debit card number for them to verify initial monthly payment and then I would be billed after that.  When I told her that I did not agree to that and that I do not feel comfortable providing my card information to an unkown source she said it wasn't a problem and that she would have a "Visa Associate" called on the other line for my privacy protection.  I told her no, I really do not wish to do that and she said that she would have to then cancel the magazine subscriptions and that I would not receive my $300 gas card, I said that's fine and she said "okay, thank you for your time."  She was friendly, but to all those who read this.....IT IS A SCAM!!!!

Honest Indian do not worry first of all they will have to provide proof that you agreed to purchase merchandise from them and they dont have your cc info so the cannot charge you and they don't have your social so what are they going to send to the credit bureau. If with some miracle they do send something (not sure what ) to the credit bureau then you can request proof of purchase or the credit agency will have to remove the information.

Unfortunately some companies resort to this type of sales technique report them to the Better business bureau but they are just blowing smoke they cannot charge you.

They called me just now so i googled them to block them from ever calling you again just dial *60 and follow the steps you can block up to 15 numbers.

I received a call on December 8 at 5:04PM from this number and was told that, as a valued Visa/Mastercard customer, I had been entered into a drawing for a chance to win numerous prizes. They also told me that I would receive a $300 gas card free and clear just for being chosen. I also supposedly won 5 magazine subscriptions for 5 years at no charge, all I had to do was purchase a subscription to Us Weekly. The woman said they would send my gas card and magazine list in the mail in the next few days. She asked me to confirm my address so the info could be mailed to me. 21 minutes later, I received a call from a man claiming to be this "new employee's" supervisor, and that he wanted to see if she had been polite during our conversation. He proceeded to tell me the same things she had and began signing me up for 5 magazines. He then asked me for my debit card number, and I told him that my wallet had recently been stolen and my card was no longer active. I asked if he could send me the info so I could look it over before I committed to paying for anything. He said that, unfortunately, that was not the way they did things, and said that if I could not provide a card number I could give him my bank account number and they could take it directly from my account. I told him that I was driving and did not have my checkbook with me, and he told me that he would have someone call me back later to collect the information. Then he completely changed what he had said and told me that I could tell the caller that I wanted to receive a monthly statement so I could send in a check instead of having it automatically withdrawn from my account. I knew it sounded very suspicious, but I am glad to have confirmation.

Guess I got luckier than most. Came home to an obscene message from this number on my answering machine.  Couldn't believe someone from an unknown number could be so rude.  Glad I didn't call back after seeing others experience.

They called and said that I had won some sort of super deluxe sweepstakes due to my visa/mastercard.  They wanted me to confirm my address but I wouldn't.  I started asking what exactly did I win and the guy said, "Thanks and good luck" and hung up on me.  Oh well, guess I'm not missing much.

I have been getting phone calls from this number also, sometimes twice a day.  Very annoying.  I never answer calls from numbers that I don't recognize and they never leave a message.  Thanks for sharing your situations here. . .

This call came in and they knew my name, my nick name, and my full address...Which was really unnverving as I just moved to my new place a few months ago!

The person kept saying that I was entered to win a sweepstakes and that I was getting 4 magazines for free.  Then they stated I'd have to pay for one of them at 4.95 a week.  I asked him his name, he said Manual Ruiz, then I asked him his address and he said 1940 Vermont Rd, Torrance, California.  I was shocked he actually gave info.  Then they asked for more information...I was waiting for them to ask for my credit card, but all they were asking was for me to say yes.  I told them I didn't want to pay for anything and then they hung up on me.

I asked if they had a website, and the lady asked someone else and said they didn't have a website.  Clearly fraudulent, don't say yes anywhere or anytime on the phone with them.  Glad I googled the number when I got the call.

Got a call from this number at work, had to leave in the middle of it to do my job. They asked if they could call back. A week later they did but I missed it. Iam glad I didn't get far enough along the other day for them to say that I ordered magazines. I don't have time for that stuff anyway. I did not give  them any info that dudn't already have - I susggest other not give out any infotrmation either. When the first call came in and they said they were from Publisher's Service Centre I was a little worried, as I am involved in publishing...

i received the calls from this number twice a week.  they are always asking for my name but i told them that person is not available.  they promised to call later at a better time.  now i know what they do and I will do something better next time they call.

I got a call from this number this morning however they asked to speak to my husband... he works all day so i asked what it was regarding. The man wouldnt tell me just said that they would call back later.

My daughter received the same sort of call as Honest Indian. They called her several different times. We were shopping this afternoon (Sunday) and the same number called her cell phone. I answered it and a man stated he was from the Publishers Service Center and gave the same speil about being entered into a sweepstakes and that he was a supervisor calling to check on a new employee. Then he goes on to say that he had the magazine order for me. I told him we didn't order any magazines. He just kept going on and on. I told him take my phone number off your list, do not call again. He argued with me and told me I was being rude and didn't I want to get to the bottom of who made this order? I told him it didn't matter we didn't order any thing and we better not get a bill for anything or I would be calling my attorney. He said no one is going to send you a bill. I could not believe he kept arguing with me after I told him to stop calling and we didn't order anything.

On oct 8 at 7:11 pm i get a call from a lady from # 424-835-3045 stating she's from Publishers Clearing House and that my credit card company had entered me in for a $25000 prize. she said that she would like to verify my address for the prize list to be sent. i acknowleded the address
was correct to the land line #.. she then changed the tone "for appreciation" pch was going to send 5 magazines for 5 yrs. and then if  
 some where i could  promise to buy 1 for a 4.95 a week for a year. I then told her to send the information to the address and i didn't  under stand and needed literature concering the matter she said o k  no name's or credit card #'S were exchanged.  
Then, at 7:35 pm i get a call from 310-510-6991 from a different woman stating she's  the supervisor for the call and that tiffany was new and how was her customer service. i acknowlegded that she was pleseant.
and didn't mind talking to her she then said thanks for that info and then proceded to ask me for conformation on the magazines i ordered
 i told her that i didn't order anything that the lady was sending me information  to my address. she say they don't do that i and that i ordered magazines.  i said, "how so your people called me.  she then became belligerant and started yelling that i did order them, and   that she was going to pick the  magazines and send them any way and that i was just going to have to deal with it..  i then tried to call back the 310-510-6691  and no answer.  i call back the 424 -835 3045 and they call themselves Publisher's serveice outlet with almost to the word the greeting i initially got

These people keep calling me and they always say, "Hi _____, I'm calling long distance, can you hear me???" EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I keep asking to be removed from their list and they hang up on me.  I've called this stupid number and its just an automated message saying that you've won some b.s.  Its false as I called it from two different numbers (one being work) and its the same message.  

If anyone knows how to get removed from this, I'd really appreciate it.  I'm on the do not call list (not that that means much).
