1056 am hangup call 9-20-13.  In my experience, when caller ID says "California" it is a cell call.  No legit company does business by cold-calling people at all, let alone from a cell phone.

Got this call today, Did not answer; my answering machine recorded 2 seconds of silence.

Received call at 5:20 pm on landline, answered, but no one on the line. Caller ID showed "Clara Martinez".  Placed number on block list.

Telemarketers selling home repairs.  I tell them I only do business with law abiding companies, which they are not.

So I made the mistake of answering a "PRIVATE CALLER" Caller ID yesterday and got some dude selling energy something or other. I just hung up. Well today, my phone is ringing off the hook with these scumbags - 'Got a live one fellas!' Anything that says "CALIFORNIA" or a city name is likely A FAKE / SPOOFED NUMBER... so DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE! Please folks - tell your elderly grandparents or parents - these are the ones these telemarketing freaks are targeting.

Now I'm gonna have to tell my sis to *82 before she calls to unblock the phone (i.e. no more "Private Callers) or I'm not answering.

Got a call from this number 5:20pm today.  Did not recognize number, did not answer and let it go to the answering machine.  They hung up before my outgoing message finished, which usually indicates a human at the other end rather than a robocall.  CallerID said CALIFORNIA, which I have only ever seen on bogus calls of different types.  Called the number back, and got telco recorded message "LA Zero 2 - Message 3 - the mobile number that you have reached is either disconnected or no longer in service" meaning it is highly likely that the number/CallerID is spoofed.
