Same scam needed me  to tell them the cc number to  lower my rate when I said no they said they only needed the last 12 numbers. The first 4 identify the type of card so I hung up then was called back by the Supervisor and when I said that he obviously didn't work for  the bank since he didn't already know my cc number he hung up  on me.

Prank Call
I originally got a call from 440-617-5620 (Ohio) about lowering my credit card interest rate. I hung up and then received a call from 425-320-5269 (Washington) to discuss details about my credit card. When he asked me what the last 12 digits of my credit card number was I argued with him and told him I will call the fraud number to report him. He called again and said if I did not prove that I am the owner of that credit card by answering his questions, he would have to close my account.

I called the fraud number and they confirmed that was a scam call.  Actual credit card companies do not make that type of call to anyone.

I just got a call from these folks, same thing, saying they would lower my interest rate on my credit card - which is awesome because I want to lower my interest rates as well. They asked for the last 12 digits on my credit card -- and transferred me to their supervisors because I was skeptical. They assured me that is was safe since they weren't asking for any of my other information. They said they were from Barclays Bank, with Card Services and the man said his name was Fred Stewart and his Employee Identification number was #571, in case I had any questions I could call back with that information.
I gave them the number so they could verify the number they were lowering the rate on was the card in question. Then they asked for the expiration date which made me very uncomfortable. They actually gave me the last payment made on my account, my credit limit and my next payment amount which matched my current statement building credibility. So their computer was in fact looking right at my account.
Then they asked me for my zip code which infuriated me since they had all of that information right in front of them. They assured me they would be sending me a new statement in the mail and to wait for a call within 30 minutes.
They hung up.
I called my credit card company and asked if they were randomly calling people from their Everett WA address offering to lower interest rates and they said no - and they did not have an Everett WA address.
I cancelled my credit card and they will send me a new one with a new number.

I dialed the phone number that had originally called me: 425-320-5269 where Fred Stewart said he worked (This is Fred Stewart, with a heavy Indian accent) and I got an automated message saying it was a call blocked number.
Within seconds of hanging up I got a phone call from 571-441-0088 and a guy asks me if I cancelled my credit card. I said yes and he furiously hangs up on me.

Definitely a scam. Block the 425 # & also the 404-400-1147 number because they are the same people.

I just received a prerecorded call today (Saturday 1pm MST) from a 404-400-1147 # saying my credit account (also without being specific to the company my account was with) was eligible to bring rates down to as low as 6 percent. Press 1 to connect to an operator. Press 2 for something I don't remember, and then "This is your only notice." When I pressed 1, I was connected to an Indian woman with a really thick accent who claimed that this is for all my credit cards- visa, mastercard, chase, bank of america, etc. I was then told I have over $3000 in credit card balance & was told to provide the expiration date. I said why? and she said she is not asking for the 3-digit security code in the back of the card so my information is safe. She then asked for the last 4 digits which I gave, then the 2nd 4 digits which I made up, then the 3rd 4 digits. Then right before I hung up, I said I didn't need a lower interest rate, & she tried a desperate guess of the 1st 4 digits of my card as 4311.

Then I immediately received a call back from 425-320-5269 with the same Indian woman's voice, after I picked up & didn't say anything, so she hung up. Overall, she was very persistent when I kept saying I didn't need a lower interest rate. Definitely a scam. BLOCK BOTH NUMBERS!!!

A eastern indian man called my husband's cell phone and said he could lower our interest rate on our Bank of America cc.  Said we were paying over 10% interest.  When we ask how much over 10%  he could not give an answer.  He had our cc number, names everything.  So glad to find this site, I'm also alerting my cc bank.

the man called from this phone with broken English wanting to lower my interest rate to 6.9 %.  Sounds like a scam.  Put him on hold and googled this number and found a string of other people they have tried to scam. Then I hung up on him. He also called back from 404-400-1147 and I googled that number and the same scam.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number. (I do not give my cell phone number out to businesses.)
This woman, who was hard to understand, said she wanted to lower my interest rate on my credit card.  She asked for the expiration date on my credit card. Luckily, I did not have the card with me. She said she would call me back today, which she did. By then, I had suspicions that it was a scam, and did not give her any info. I will block this number in my phone, so she can't call again!

They called me today from this number:

602-275-9789

Telled me that I should press "1" to talk to a service rep to lower my interest rate to as low as 6.9%. I pressed one and told the operator (in an extremely noisy room I might add), to never call my number again, and that she was a piece of s***, f****ng w***e, scam artist c***.

2 minutes later, she calls back from this number (425-320-5269) and says she'll call my number forever. I told her to go back to Nigeria, f****ng scam w***e piece of s***.

My wife received a call from this number on 3/11/13 and refused their service. I received a call today for the same offer to lower my credit card interest rate. He did not mention a bank name but needed to verify that I owed over $3500 then the line went dead. I am sure this is a scam
