Recruited applicants for outside sales agent position

I "applied" on their website -- saying I was interested in being one of their reps and this is the auto-email response I got back:

Hello ****,

Thank you for your online request for information regarding the Account Executive position at Merchants' Choice Payment Solutions (MCPS). We help clients succeed in all facets of merchant payment processing, including solutions for Credit, Debit, EBT, Check Conversion and Guarantee, Gift, Reward & Loyalty Cards and much more.

Established in 1989, we are a company committed to your success; a company that provides not just products, but partnerships; a company with a long standing reputation of honesty, integrity and ethical business practices. MCPS is backed by the strength of our bank, Woodforest National Bank, a privately held bank based in Houston, which serves over 100,000 clients, processing more than $3.4 billion in annual credit card volume. Woodforest's largest retail partner is Walmart, however, they also operate in-store branches in Kroger, Tom Thumb and Sam's Club. In fact, MCPS is one of the top-ranked Merchant Service Providers in the industry and nationally recognized for providing top-tier customer service & is the 2014 Electronic Transaction Association Star Award Nominee for ISO Of The Year! Recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for Highest Retail Banking Satisfaction in the southwestern region of the United States, with a Four-Star ("Excellent") rating from BauerFinancial and Bankrate.com (March 2012) and an "A" rating from TheStreet.com; and is one of only four banks in the United States with assets of $2 billion or more to earn an "A" score on the Weiss Ratings scale (June 2012).

Did you know that in 2013, 49% of all retail transactions were made with a bank card? Inc. magazine stated the payment card industry is among the fastest growing sectors in the U.S. economy, growing 108% from 2011 to 2012. US online retail sales expected to grow 57% by 2018 and mobile POS will comprise nearly half of POS terminals by 2019. Even if the economy remains flat, electronic payments will continue to rise. The payments industry is sustaining its resilience compared to the relative flatness of the overall economy, according to the latest U.S. Economic Indicators Report published by the Strawhecker Group and ETA. The Strawhecker Group cites a gain in the number of U.S. small business owners transitioning to electronic payments as an option over the last 18 to 24 months as one of the factors influencing long-term payments industry growth. The mobile payments market is expected to exceed $670 billion by 2015. Worldwide non-cash transactions are expected to top $333 Billion this year.

MCPS designs programs and offers pricing options to help you make the most of your time, generate revenue and maximize profitability. We work with you every step of the way to develop a successful selling strategy. With our proven programs, you can jump-start your business and begin earning residual income almost immediately. MCPS is a direct representative of Woodforest National Bank and affiliated with federally insured (FDIC) processing banks through the USA. So unlike most organizations, we are able to compare pricing among them, always looking for the merchant bank's lowest possible cost for our clients. We make them "compete" for our business! We attribute our success to lower rates, quicker account setup for merchants, rapid funding, more flexibility, EMerchant customer support and an unsurpassed sales team.

MCPS offers a super ISO platform. Unlike other processors who just focus on the savings, we offer an array of products & services to help the business owner increase revenue. We are bank owned, so we do not outsource our back-end services, which provides more flexibility and reduced costs to the merchant.

MCPS encourages its sales team to grow professionally. As a leader in the payments industry, we depend on?and seek out people?who are constantly on the lookout for progressive, more efficient ways to provide value and superior service to our customers, shareholders, and communities. We?re also committed to developing and maintaining a diverse workplace. We value and celebrate the individuality of each member of our team and foster an environment where those who share our fundamental values have an opportunity to advance their careers on the basis of merit. MCPS is an equal opportunity employer.

*The primary responsibilities of an Independent Contractor will be to speak with business owners, either locally or within the U.S., regarding their credit/debit card processing rates, check services, ecommerce or non-cash payments. From retail and hospitality to higher-risk eCommerce and mobile, MCPS offers innovative products tailored to merchants and businesses of all types. Since you are an independent contractor, so you can work anywhere in the United States, on your schedule. We offer the business owner a free rate analysis based on a recent credit/debit card statement, to show an average savings, so they can make an informed decision on moving their credit card processing account. With free equipment, we allow business merchants to easily accept & process all major credit & debit cards - with funds deposited electronically into merchants account within 24 hours. Your job is to add value to the merchant so they can add value to their customers - we do this by offering a variety of products and services. From robust core processing and payments acceptance to value-added solutions, we help our clients optimize revenue streams while addressing security concerns and combating fraud.

Simple put......How would you like to start earning money every time someone uses their credit and/or debit card for any purchase!

We are seeking candidates that are self starters with a positive attitude. Our team consists of bold, dynamic, creative & intelligent agents, that embrace change and have a genuine care for our merchants. So, whether you are new to credit card processing sales or a veteran, you will quickly appreciate all that Merchants' Choice can bring to your career. My old roommate used to keep a freon horn near the phone. Whenever a telemarketer would call (we were on the National and State do not call lists) he'd give 'em a blast from the freon horn, then say "What the hell was that", then another blast, then hang up. If they called back they got a longer blast. A lot of telemarketers use headsets. So, this is a very effective method for getting the point across that you don't want to be bothered if they ignore the DNC lists.

They call 2 to 3 times daily! When I push 1 to talk to an agent, I tell them I am on the National Do Not Call Registry and ask them to take me off the list and they are either really rude and hang up or they simply hang up with no response! UGH!! I do NOT have time for this as this is my BUSINESS line!

They call my almost defunct Vonage line regularly, despite my requests for them not to do so.

I'm trying to track down their mailing address so I can send them a return receipted request to be removed. That way when they continue to call me I can file suit against the b*****ds. I believe it's $500 per call after they've been notified.

Rec?d (2) junk calls from these morons ? robo-calling yesterday. Just got to posting this morning.

The call purportedly is emanating from Renton (Seattle), WA:
http://www.wherecall.com/AreaCode-Exchange/425-336.htm?q=4253368351

That should help those wondering where the calls are coming from. The above URL works only for non-toll free numbers, f.y.i.

Many times the phone numbers will have invalid area codes, and be ?spoofed?. We dump those dirtbags into voice-jail automatically. Any self-respecting business would be proud of providing their B.B.B. rating, their brick-and-mortar storefront address and other info, assuring the prospective client that they are real and genuine, instead of seeking comfort in the dark of night, so to speak.

Here is some additional info for you folks that are pummeled by these dirtbags, in an endless tsunami-like infestation of telemarketing scum:

http://groups.google.com/group/sci.electronics.repair/browse_thread/thread/ed4180d1215897c7

In the URL post above, the guy would like to beat the crap out of them. I concur. This at least would be productive, meaningful, and for those beleaguered with the calls, ?we? would feel good afterwards. Besides lefties all want us to ?feel good?.

http://www.diybanter.com/electronics-repair/3 ... r-parasite.html

http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20090925/1607516327.shtml

For those of you who have AT&T, you can do a *60, (spelt out, that?s ?star-six-zero?), but most irritatingly AT&T (Always Troublesome & Terrible) only permits blocking ten numbers. What is that? And it never permits blocking toll-free.

Remember AT&T much like Wall Street doesn?t give a damn about you, only their own profits. You?re a nothing?regardless of those touchy-feely Madison Ave. marketing ads.

For some of you, you may wish to experiment with Google Voice to block calls.

http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?answer=115089
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/voice/thread?tid=180a0c1fd916238f&hl=en
http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/voice/thread?tid=180a0c1fd916238f&hl=en

.

For those of you who are even more ambitious, go down to your local marina and purchase a couple cans of compressed air ?fog horns?, and as soon as the j.e.r.k.-off at the other end responds, give them a real ?blast?. Just watch your ears in the process. The ?cans of fog horns? aren?t really cheap, but it sure seems to work.

Besides who cares if you damage them?they?re all a pain in the a.s.s!

--

Merchant Services is as much as dirtbags as Orchard Bank (and their scam), Subway?yes Subway?who all use email spam services to force their message in your face. Vote with your wallet. It?s the only process these scum bags will ever understand.

I am getting several calls a day from this number. Everytime I try and tell them to put me on the do not call list they are rude and just hang up. You cannot call them and ask to speak with a supervisor. This is so annoying. They seriously call 3 to 4 times a day with a Robot message. How do we get them to stop?

not pleased,

I filed one of these FCC forms. I started getting calls from the 425-336-8351 number right after I moved my service (Qwest) from my old place to the new. I got one live person to say that my number was listed as a business. Crazy, since it's been my residential number for 20+ years! Sounds possible that Qwest/Century Link has screwed up something, intentionally or not.
I also filed a complaint with the AG in Oregon (my state).

So, some people have listed a couple of 1800 numbers (1888-333-1374 and 1866-239-2541) and an email address (donotcall@merchantproexpress.com) to get removed from their do not call list...has anything worked?  We just opened, and we have received 12 calls.  We use a call center, so we have to pay for each call we get!  If nothing has worked, what's their address, so I can send them the bill!

I have been getting these calls numerous times a day from this number as well as other numbers - most all are selling merchant cc services, some are selling "pens", etc.  They have gotten my number from the public record business license I recently obtained.  These calls are SO very annoying.  You are right, pressing "2" does nothing.  And when you try to talk to them, they hang up on you and/or are rude.  Finally got one to give me the email today of "donotcall@merchantproexpress.com.  However, I am skeptical of that as well - as I see Mel commented that you'll likely receive more calls.  Plus then they will have my email address too and I dont want my Inbox to be filled up by these creeps.  Sheesh.

It is a company that offers to install credit card machines and what not. You press 2 to be removed and they KEEP CALLING! Where can I file a complaint on these people? It is ridiculous! They call each line several times a day, I get a minimum of 4 calls each day.

The company calling is: www.MerchantPaymentServices.com
I went to their website and found the main number it is 866-239-2541, talk to Tim Bastres and call him every time they call you. Supposedly he is the person that will be able to correct this problem. And if he doesn't I will call him just as many times as they call me.

We received over 10 calls in the last 2 days.  I finally got a hold of someone - you can get removed but you have to send them an email at:  donotcall@merchantproexpress.com
BUT, this will not automatically stop the calls and the guy on the phone told me I might get more because they use a 3rd party marketing firm.
