Greed Mongering appears to work for the Brady Campaign. He is anti gun rights for law abiding citizens. His motto is "guns for criminals only".

SAF or CCRKBA. Two orgs I wish I hadn't joined -- it's as if I paid money to get on a telemarketer's list. I get calls at least monthly from each. Endowment Member of NRA -- get a call once or twice a year maybe, and then all the mail harassment. Easy enough to toss in the trash. Frustrating, though, that they spend so much donor money on garbage to raise more money. Very out-of-touch w/ the membership -- attend an annual meeting and witness just how badly. Anyway...also a Life Member of GOA Gun Owners of America -- no harassment. Everything that comes from them (to me, anyway) has meaning, not fancy marketing pieces designed to get more money out of me. They do suggest campaign donations to out-of-state campaigns often, but not with expensive snail-mail packages that pay big bucks to their friends who own snail-mail marketing companies (NRA/LaPierre).
Luckily, I don't have any other contacts from Washington State, so any area code (306) or (427) calls I pretty much know who they are. Not to mention, I simply don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the name/number on caller ID.

Hey all,
I am with Moz, also I want to set the record straight. Al Gotlieb and his group are almost all that is left between the liberal panzy communist punks called democrats and the real americans. The second ammendment is a right not a privilage yet it is always spoken about as it it was only a privilage. The real issue is that the liberal commies want all the other rights for them selves plus the ability to covet and steal the working mans money and property, and take their guns so the working man can't stop them from robbing them. The robbery is either by taking our money by taxes and giving it to the welfare hounds or by disarming us and the miserable punks come and rob us because they don't care about laws and honour. So go ahead and believe what you want to believe, but the only thing keeping us free is our guns. It is a right, it isn't open for debate, no one has the power or right to diminish it or pressure us to give it up. A right is a right, and worth fighting to keep. Lastly, I seen recently a news show where that mouthy idiot matthews was rambling on about a man armed in a public place in a state where it is completely legal to do so, and he went on and on about how the president was nearby and how wrong it was. How no one should do that and so on, well I have this to say about it, in less than 100 years ago, people wore their guns everywhere, and no one thaught twice about it. In those states and communities where our rights are not infringed upon the people wear the guns without any eyebrows raised, but then when some body decides to wear their gun and tote it to town, excercizing a right, like speeking and worshipping their God, or giving their opinion, someone like the commy matthews throws a fit. Matthews doesn't yell when a w***e kills her unborn baby, but look out as soon as a right is excercized plug your ears. Mathews yelled that why did the guy do that and so on, My answer is simple, because he could get over it. It is a right, and no one has to explain it. I would be very happy if these commy punks would just leave my country alone and go to canada. go to a place that would be more than happy to let you be as stupid as you want!

If these calls are from SAF, then I have no problem. In response to "greed mongering", you seem to know quite a bit about the personal affairs of a man you claim to know nothing about personally. If you truly used to work at the call center, release your credentials so that I can verify your claim. As for Mr. Gotlieb being uncomfortable when you supposedly saw him in the parking lot, maybe he didn't appreciate you oogling his wife. Can't say that I blame him. Also, if you have such a problem with how this organization handles its donations, why don't you start your own organization and run it the way you want. I have heard Alan interviewed dozens of times on many different media outlets, and I have full faith in his abilities and intentions. If he is driving a nice car, has a nice house, and has a beautiful wife, so be it. I still have my right to keep and bear arms, and I trust that SAF, GOA, CCKBA, and many others are helping to fight for that right.
You complain about the founders wage, yet you fail to disclose your own. We're you not paid for your service in the call center? You claim that people were bullied into donations. If I have no money to pay my bills, I have no money to donate. It's that simple. Zero extra dollars means zero extra dollars for everybody. You claim that a cancer patient was "bullied" into donating. Who are you to say that this person didn't give the money knowing that it might just be a legacy contribution? If I were dying, I would absolutely will parts of my estate to causes such as these. The cause for freedom is much greater than any man. What have you done to ensure that your grandchildren arent subjects of an oppressive government? My guess is nothing. I would bet my next donation on that.

I found this thread because i wanted to see what number called me. Hello Everyone,
I used to work for this so called nonprofit organization. The originator and founder of this organization is Allen Gotlieb. I don't know very much about this guy, personally, but I do know what goes on in the call center, and something about the way that your money is being spent. Allen lives a very lavish life style in the name of protecting your second amendment rights. (Right to bear arms) He has a very lavish expensive home, a silver sports car that looks like the batmobile, fully loaded with all the perks, and it seems to be custom designed. There is no doubt this vehicle cost a pretty, several thousand dollars. His wife wears a mink coat, in these times when animal activists are fighting for animal rights. When I saw Allen and his wife leaving the office as I was comming to work, Allen seemed uncomfortable about the idea that I saw his wife wearing this expensive coat. I have heard from journalists that work for the news stations in Seattle, that this guy is not what he appears to be, and his organization is a cash cow machine. It is highly debateable, that our right to bear arms can be taken away from us, as citizens. So what purpose does his organization serve? I have read some of their news letters, and it appears that they advocate the rights of citizens to bear arms and protect their homes. If someone is sent to jail, the foundation offers legal assistance. The amount of time, and number of cases that their legal team works on, is unclear. So where does the rest of the money go? After talking to the Attorney General, I discovered that these nonprofit organizations are only required to contribute one cent of each dollar that you donate, towards the effort, to be legal. That leaves thousands, for administrative services, and even more money for the founder to do what he pleases. In 2005 the Attorney General issued an article to the public, that there were over 122,000 nonprofit organizations in Washington State alone. They discussed the issue of self profit being the motive, and stated that if a nonprofit organization makes more the $50,000, they will be required to submit to an audit. Many complained that an audit would be very expensive, and many organizations that were making 50K to 70K could not afford that expense. Regardless, it is required, to sift out organizations that are taking advantage of the system. Don't be fooled when these fundraisers call you from this organization, they will tell you that they make minimum wage, which is not true. They also make a commission. So if you pledge or donate, say, $100, send a $1.00. That should cover the amount that they contribute to the effort.
Also, many of the people in the call center have been known to be abusive. I have heard some people say that they couldn't even pay their electric bill, or medical bills, and these fundraisers bullied them into a donation. I heard one of the fundraisers say that one of the people that he called had cancer, and he still bullied them to give money to the Second Amendment Foundation.
I personally think that this foundation has enough money for the effort. If they need more, let them sell their house, and rent. Let them sell their vehicle, and drive a used vehicle. Let them sell their furs, jewels and other prize posessions that they bought with your hard earned money, if they care so much about the effort. This is a self profit enterprise. Don't be fooled! Stop donating money to this organization.

Get at least 1 call a day from this number, sometimes restricted and a few seconds later this number pops up. The SAF, GOA and CCKBA need our bucks to fight this Anti 2nd Amendment Government. I just wish they would take what I give and quit calling.
