We got a call from this number a couple of days ago in Nova Scotia (in eastern Canada). We were out and no message was left. The 425 area code is from the state of Washington just outside of Seattle.

Got the call at about ten AM this morning and decided to give it a look on the internet before I did anything. Now I'm glad I did. I was getting harassed by Worldwide Publishing a few years ago because of something a friend did.

Got a call on my cell from 425-587-1001, telling me that they were returning my call about the status of my credit cards and that they are all ok. Funny I don't even have a credit card. Told me to push 1 to get a better rate or push 2 to be removed from the list..I pushed 2..so we will see what happens.

Call received at 2:21pm Sept 27, 2010. Caller left no message, but I'm glad I didn't answer after reading some previous posts! My cell phone is a Michigan (Lansing Area) number.

I received a call with no message from this number today. I get these calls every so often from different phone numbers. These people are individuals, NOT COMPANIES, trying to get you to use their credit card or they are trying to get your personal information. Even though you are on the Do Not Call List, they are individuals with temporary phone numbers, most likely Magic Jack or Trac Phones and most likely not in the State you think they are in, so they never get caught even if you report the number to your phone company. If you get a call with a recorded voice saying to press a number, DO NOT do it. Once you press the number, they know that it is an active phone line, that you will answer and maybe they can SELL you their credit card or steal your personal information. Also, once you press any number, either to opt out or try to talk to a real person, then you have just done business with them and the Do Not Call law will not apply and they will sell your phone number to other individuals and you will get more and more calls.

Got a call from the fourth number in two weeks. They're getting aggressive with their attempts here lately. I have stopped answering calls I don't recognize, and tell anyone who knows me to leave a message if they want me to start answering when they call.

I love how they tell me there's no problem with my credit accounts. Really? We couldn't come to an agreement with our credit card companies and have gone forward with garnishment proceedings. I think there MIGHT be a problem with my accounts.

That said, I know for a fact that there's no way, with my credit, that I will qualify for a 6.9% interest rate with ANY program held with ANY company and/or bank.

I had received a call from this number a couple of weeks ago on my cell phone, and again this afternoon. As I tend to pick up all my cell phone calls, I was greeted with a recording informing me that it was a customer service call regarding my credit card, and after first assuring me that there wasn't anything wrong, they asked me if I'd like to lower my interest rate to 6.9%. Just press '1'.

Heck, I've been paying all my cards off at the end of the month, but just in case...

So I pressed '1' and come hither human: First I was congratulated for paying my card on time (Thanks!) and then I was asked if I'd like to lower my Mastercard or Visa to 6.9%.

She talked very VERY fast, but when my brain had caught up... Sure! 6.9% is lower. Lower is good!

Well wait... What did she just say? Yeah. She DID say that! If it was one of MY card issuers, they would KNOW what I had... Not just take a guess... Hmm...

I quizzed the person on the phone and asked them who they were. With barely a half second's pause, she repeated that she'd like to see if I would qualify to have my 'MasterCard or Visa" card reduced to 6.9%.

Now my alarm bells went from 'snooze' to full alert.

I rephrased the question, only in a more direct tone.

"Are you one of my card issuers?" And this time, there was a longer pause, and again, I was told that they would just need to verify some information and then she would be able to check to see if I qualified to lower my interest rate to 6.9%

Yeah, RIGHT.

While they might be a legit company providing a legit service, I had absolutely NO intention of giving them ANY information and I would be remiss to NOT make the same suggestion to you. Cold callers are one thing, but cold callers that want personal and/or financial information over the phone are WAY up there on my 'scam/ripoff' lists of lists.

Saying goodbye is a bit rough (seems once they have a fish on the hook, they're hesitant to let it go) so do away with the niceties and just hang up after you inform them that you're doing so.

Help spread the word through facebook and what other programs you guys use. i just got the same phone call and tried to pull there information, but they wouldn't give it.. thanks

Got a call 9-23-10 at 4:19 from 425-587-1001 with no message.  I'm in Philly area.

Just got a call saying they would lower my apr to 6.6%. when i asked which account they were speaking about they said all my credit card accounts (I have two from differnt companies and one is visa and the other master card). I was confused and asked again and they continued to say all my accounts. Then they asked how much a I owed, Just a rough estimate. When I hesitated they asked if it was under $5000, I said yes, and they hung up on me.

on 9-23-2010 at 10:13 am Eastern time got a call from 425-587-1001 with no message left.  Call was from Washington state so 7:13 am Pacific time.  The early scam artist gets the first sucker? Not today.

Got a call from this number with no message left. No idea who it is. I live in the Detroit area of Michigan.

I received a call from these folks on Sat around 2 pm, the recorded message said they would reduce my cc interest to 6.9% (that's higher then I pay now, ha ha) if I have a balance of 5000.00 or more, Anyway I pressed one and a woman answered saying she was with creditmember services. she then proceded to ask me what my cc limit was. I asked her to again ID herself and with whom she was with, after she gave me her name and repeated that she was with creditmember services. I said if you are with my cc member services how is it you do not know what my credit limit is? She then hung up. I called my member services and they confimed what I already knew, the call was not from them, it was a scam.

Getting calls from this number on my cell phone.  No message -- just keeps calling and calling.   Also am on the NDNCL.

Got a call from this number informing me I could reduce my credit card interest rate to 6.9%!  WOW, I don't even have a credit card.  I pressed one to speak to someone, waiting to sarcastically respond and had a fake number to give them, with a fake expiration date- I really wanted to have some fun- but after waiting through three minutes of ringing on the other end, no one ever picked up.
I check my credit report annually, had it looked at about three weeks ago and I know there is no credit card under my social so it definitely is not identity theft but I'm certain, if I had given personal information, it could have been!

Didn't answer the call and they left a message- all that was on the message was "urgent". Called back to see who it was and received the same "thank you for calling back and press "1" to opt of future special offers" recorded message. Pressed "1" and received no response.

I repeatedly get calls from this number and has pressed 1 to opt out.  I waited until someone answered today and when she asked if I wanted to lower my credit card interest rate I stated, no I want to be removed from your call list.  Her reply was that they didn't have a list and she hung up!

Missed the call - then called back.  Reached a recording that thanked me for calling back.  Couldn't figure out what company was calling.  They gave a "Press 1 to opt out" option.  Does anyone know what company this is from?  How do they get phone numbers? Is this a scam?

Hot a cal from this number... no message. I ahve had a string of " reactivate yor debit card " scammers lately and suspect that my number was sold

Took option 1.  Waited for person to answer.  Waited for person to ask if I owed more than $5000 in credit. Then said that I just wanted to be off the list. next sound I her was...CLICK.

Second call from this number, no message has been left.

This is a credit card service of some sort. I have tried 4 times to be placed on their do not call list as they call my cell phone. I finally answered the 'speak with our operator'. She was very rude and said that she did not sit there with a list and if I did not want my pj=hone tied up why was I talking to her!

Got a call from this number today at 5:36 P.M. EDT. No message was left.

I live in washington, dc and got a call from this number but they left no message. after reading some of the previous comments im glad i was in a meeting and didnt pick up. sounds like a scammer.

got a call from this number... her name is stephney .. saying that she gona lower the ur credit card intrest rate as low as 6.6 so be care full if get any call ignore it... do not give any personal details.... if so they will increse you bill not intrest,..tc

This number is harrassing our customers

didn't leave a message, is this the same as  (425) 587-1011 do you think?

did not answer this call because it was from a strange #. I am supposed to be on the National Do No Call List. Does it really work?
