call has being made from this phone and when you pick it up no one say nothing .I have had six call today I can not trace the call so I am thinking about getting my phone change

I got the same exact call from them, telling me about some scam percentage refund, and attempting to get my pepco ID number. of course I didn't share, and I also told her she could send the paper in the mail instead, I don't accept any offers over the phone EVER. I continue to get these calls every single day up to 3-4 times a day, i DID finally file a complaint on the Maryland Energy Commission's site. When they call, before they even have a chance to say a word, I NOW tell them that I have filed a complaint against them, and that I know who and what they are, they need to tell their little friends to stop calling me as well!LOL! Be agressive with them because they are very aggressive with us! My next move will be a deafening whistle right into the phone. they will not want to call me any more after I get through with them.

Calls from this number have been coming in at minimum 3-4 times per day, sometimes more. This number comes up as "Local Service Center" on my caller ID. I've answered before and have only heard call center background noise and have never spoken to a person, even after repeating "Hello?" several times. Normally I let it ring out.

Yesterday when I was getting tired of it ringing and I answered, someone actually responded for once. She asked if [my husband's full name] was in. I said no. She asked if I was Ms. [my last name]. I said yes. She told me that I was "due a refund" from Pepco (I think there was some explanation about accidental over-billing) and that they would just have to verify some information so they could send me my "refund."

I said okay, although I was getting a bit suspicious as she had never specifically identified herself as representing Pepco. She told me that I should get a pen to write down a confirmation number. Okay.

Oh, and I should go get a Pepco bill so that I could "confirm the account number." Um, no. Scam suspicions are going off big time now. But I'm still not completely sure. So I said, "Actually, I'm really busy right now. Can I get a number to contact you when I have a free moment?"

She was really cagey, "Well, I could give you my extension, but it's almost the end of the day, so no one would be here."

"Oh, that's fine," I said. "I'll just call back tomorrow."

She responded, "We'll be really busy tomorrow and no one will pick up."

"Oh. Well, I'd really be more comfortable being the one contacting you," I said.

She replied in a nasty tone, "Well, you don't get to make the calls; I get to make the calls. We'll call you back tomorrow," and then hung up on me.

Such a scam! But a really insidious one. They are right on the cusp of representing themselves as Pepco.

yep, they're at it again, even when I immediately tell them I know who they are and that I've already reported them to the FTC! they just won't give up! this is abuse and stalking of the worst kind! 425-658-8939 is a hacker. report them!!

I got some calls from that American Power company yesterday they tried getting my PEPCO account number, Now today, I'm getting calls and a "hang-up" from these hackers. This has to stop. I will now know what to say to them, even if they are about to hang up again, I will tell them I reported them to the FEDS. (FTC)

Multiple calls from the number above over the past week (up to 4 a day) - no message

Bob...Sorry I had mixed up two situations. I was wrong about receiving my calls on a T-Mobile phone, I receive them on my land line.

I too have received unwanted phone calls but there is no one at the other end. Oddly, I am a Pepco client. Someone said it might be a T-Mobile call because I receive my calls on a T-Mobile phone and I believe they are located in that area of Washington state.

I want these unwated, weird calls to stop!

It sounds like they call randomly. they sometimes say "I need to speak with the person who pays the electric bill" (to which i answer, no you don't and hang up. other times they say "i'm calling about your pepco bill" etc. I don't even have pepco as I live in a condo. they don't know that but if I were, they're trying to have me switch to them.  Just hang up. it's not even worth trying to report them since they can easily use a different phone line.

its a basic telemarketing company spoofing thier return caller ID so that you cant track them down

they do have a legit product, but its a fraud all the same

they charge you high prices, force you into a long term, 3-4 year contract, and get a commission in whats called a front load finance program

the actual costs of the "free" system is loaded into the overpriced monitoring system, which is paying for the commission and the system cost over a 3-4 year period

these people are in violation of the FTC advertising laws...in that when they use the term "FREE" they are not allowed to do this king of thing...its an abuse of position and needs to end

I got calls from this number 6 times over last few days. They never left a message. Today i received several calls from 240-701-1530 with the caller ID Garcias Iris. As this is a phone number from our area I picked up. The first time, nothing, then they hang up. But immediately after a second call came in and a guy was telling me I could save money on my electrical bill as I am a valued Pepco customer.
I asked them what company they are calling for and they identified themselves as American Great Power. As I was already annoyed with tons of calls coming in with no messages left and I was asking him, whether that would be a scam and why would Pepco give him my number to loose business to them. He also got loud and very pushy arguing that I am a valued customer to Pepco, so Pepco doesn't want to loose me and therefore provides them with my information to get cheaper rates through them.
I really doubt Pepco would do that.
These guys are absolutely annoying and very pushy.
I think you sign up, and later on the rates increase. - Also, you only get paperwork after you sign up.

This called pops up as "Kirkland, WA."  And they never leave a message.
Has anyone else gotten this call?  What company is it and WHAT do
they want?  I refuse to answer the call.

I called my local phone company.  They suggested people file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  If enough file on this number, they will investigate and get them to cease.  I have received about 10 calls in just a few days.

Keep track of date, time, and number to support your complaint.  Very annoying!!!

constantly callin and i cannot get in touch with anyone. really pissing me off.

I've also been getting calls from this number.  425-658-8939.  They just hang on the line and never say anything. You can tell it's not an automated machine.  Not sure what the point is.

These calls need to stop! They call at least 4-5 times a day and as late as 8pm.  How can I get them to stop calling??

They have called 11 times now -- no message, or all dial tone for message. I tried calling back. It keeps you on hold for 7 minutes and then hang up. The number's in Kirkland, Washington. If they did this to one of my servers, it would be called a denial-of-service attack.
