Got a call from my parents that my son had called them because he was involved in a DUI. The 'attorney' Richard Cohen called and said he needed $8,000 to settle up with the insurance company (Allstate) so he could be released because he was not an authorized user on the rental car agreement and had been in an accident. Called my son and he is alive and well. Richard said I would get all of my money back and now I can't get ahold of him. His phone number:438-985-7836. I called Allstate and I have a call into the police department because he said they would call me.

This afternoon we got a call from Montreal telling us that our granddaughter was in serious trouble and needed $1500 to get released from charges of driving in Montreal and causing an accident etc. etc. My husband was on the way to get a money order for a Tariq  who was the assistant to Richard Cohen the lawyer .and I found out about previous scams and telephoned the bank to stop any money transaction. On the way there, my husband had thought it was too fishy and called me so another attempt for extortion was foiled.

I know daniel mitrache and i know all about these calls etc if you would like to press charges im more than happy to help you locate him! You live in the states right! and they called saying your grandson was drunk driving or sometimes its in a fishing accident!! Daniel lives in Montreal I cant believe i found this posting i am so thankful people finally caught on to him! I have reported it all to the police months ago!

My mom received a call, June 8, 2010, stating that her grandson had been in an accident and was in jail in Montreal. The lawyer's name was Daniel Cohen. To get him out of jail she needed to send $2,647.00 dollars to Daniel Mitrache, 44 Teel Street, Montreal, Canada. She was to transfer the money from a service located at 1511 San Andreas Street, Santa Barbara, CA.  I contacted my brother and found that my nephew, supposedly in Canada, was taking a shower at his home in Virginia. My mom may have gotten the street name where the money was to be delivered to wrong. It could be Peel Street.

If you really want to get this Daniel person and you are 100% sure he is guilty and claim to know him then why dont you just go to the police and tell them he threatened you due to this investigation and get them to arrest him?

Well as far as I know the police does not release the names of individuals who are about to stand trial prior to the trial. If you cannot wait 2 weeks till the trails end I suggest you inquire through a lawyer since the authorities are obliged to release the names hence.

I am a victim and I have already reported this last year! but when i am being told by you that the men are being charged etc and not one single person involved has been which   I have double and triple checked with the police officers I am close with and also the federal and provincial police in Montreal. it leads me to believe you are one of the men. Hence why directed by the officers i am working with I will no longer be making postings. If I am wrong my apologies but i am not willing to take the risk.

My name is Steve sir, I so not know what they told you. All I know 3 men were arrested and will face charges, I do not know their names yet either they will be released during the trial. Personally it is not that relevant to me as to the fact that they will get to pay for what they did to my father and numerous other persons.

I suggest you either call your local police station where you posted the complaint and see if they will release the information to you or you will have to contact the Montreal courts next month after the case becomes public.  

I got what I needed from this, if you are unsatisfied I suggest you go and pose your complain and add it to their charges.

It was the police office Daniel nor any the men have been arrested nor were they even questioned.

That is very strange, they assured me they were arrested and were charged with fraud. I highly doubt the Canadian authorities would lie to me. Are you sure you called the right department? Perhaps you should get the officer you reported this to to inquire for you about this since maybe they cannot release their names to random individuals.

I am curious as to why you deleted your previous message also to the fact that Daniel nor any the men that were involved have been arrested? Which leads me to beleive you are not who you say you are.

Hello again, I contacted the police again and asked for the names of the fellows arrested and charged. They gave me the names since I was one of the plaintiffs. If you wish to know I can tell you but i'm not supposed to divulge that information publicly.  

Hopefully when you called this morning they released that information to you as well since you are one of the plaintiffs as well, and I also hope that you do not live on the east coast cause we are having a terrible terrible heat wave.

Yes, there have been 2 others that went to the authorities. Thats how we got this investigation going and finally got them.  

But in the end these b*****ds are going to jail for a very long time.

Sorry forgot to add there had to have been other people who came forward as I reported this to the police last year but I have not made any complaints in the past month in regards to this anyways so it seems strange maybe you can speak to the police officer about that as you may have more people than you think willing to stand up against these men, anythings worth a try! . But all I am sure will be clarified tomorrow

No, my father is not going to get his money back unfortunately. But I repaid him back from my own pocket, part of life taking care of your parents.

And you will need to call the federal police in Montreal I think it was not the local police. I do think that the person you mention was charged since he was a part of it not quite sure though so do not quote me on it. The one person that didn't get charged was a minor as far as I know so if this person you mentioned is a minor then he was released.  

But try and call, perhaps they will clarify it for you.

I really didnt do much so no need to thank me ha-ha but thank you. I wish there could be more done and you would get back all the hard earned money for your family. Ill be calling the police in Montreal first thing in the morning to find out if the charges were pressed against Daniel.

Well we got bad news and god news, I just got off the phone with the sheriff's department and in order to extradite them to face the accusations here my father and the other 2 victims have to make a forma complaint to the FBI. Unfortunately  the other 2 people do not want to do it since they will not be getting their money back and are too elderly to go through the process. The good news is that 3 out of the 4 suspects will be indicted for 3 counts of fraud each and will face up to one and a half year in prison for each count they are found guilty of. They are now under arrest and are due for court in 2 weeks I was told.
I will not be able to attend since its a 7 hour drive unfortunately.

I am currently on the road and will try and convince my father to ask for extradition, our laws are more strict and they will face up to 5 years for each cont.

But I am happy that justice was served, It took me 6 months but it was well worth it. Okay, I have another 4 hours on the road before I get home.  

I appreciate your help sir. We need more people like yourself.

Perfect, I was talking to the surate of quebec. They assured me that the case is solid but I am more interested in getting them extradited to New Jersey. I will contact thm and ask for all the information you demanded so we can make sure they will not warm their way out of this one.  

I have to head back home right now and as soon as I get there I will have the sheriff's department in my town contact the FBI to demand for extradition.

Only way I can be contacted is through the police department for my own protection If you send me the officer you are working with and also there details then police officer I am currently working with will get in contact with them to represent me. I will help but within the lines of protection for myself. The police are currently monitoring this website and the other sites in which there has been other postings. I am working with the local sheriff's department down in Trenton. I came up here to Montreal today cause I am furious over this and wanted to know whats going on.
Bad news is I will not recover the money my father sent but on the other side all 4 suspects will be indicted in the next 2 weeks, I was told they were brought in yesterday for questioning.

I will contact my local department to try and prosecute them under US laws so I am here to pose a complaint.
