Got a notification from "Chase SM Online" that they had "deactivate my card" (yes, that was the spelling) and to call this number to restore it. I reverse lookedup the number and it's a cell phone in Willoughby, OH.

I just got the same message about the Chase credit card and called Chase on their listed 800 number on my credit card. I also did a Google look-up and found that the slime ball trying to get a free ride lives in Willoughby, OH.

I received the Chase email as well and I have reported it to the Willoughby (Ohio) Police Department at http://www.egovlink.com/willoughby-oh/action.asp?actionid=4403 as the number is a Willoughby, Ohio cell phone number. If we all do that maybe we can help catch a stupid criminal.

I got the same message as Evil did. Also did a Google lookup and found the name of the service provider is Level 3 Communications. I called Level 3 Communications and was not able to get a real person but was able to leave a message. I gave them the same info.

Everyone should report this to the authorities..local AND internet..it is clearly an attempt to rob unsuspecting people.

Got the same grammatically challenged email. Funny thing is - I never activated my card when my old one expired as I am paying it down and off. I wonder if I should tell Chase though, or ask that they get the message with their next bailout check!
